hiya i currently own a Nintendo Wii and so far i'm loving it. i have no regrets in buying it but i think i might be in the future.

my question is if Capcom can port/publish/release games such as Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the PS2 and the PSP (and Street Fighter III Third Strike for the old Xbox) why can't they do the same for the Wii? i'm sure the console has enough hardware to render those games...surely!

Probably will take but the Wii is the worst current gen console for online gaming which is the way forward now.

I'd love to see some vc arcade love from capcom. I know SF2 for the snes is available but the arcade version would be ideal (OR even sf3)! :)

Wii is the worst console for fighting games.
The on-line sucks.
The Wii-mote sucks when it comes to fighting games.
The best thing you can do is insert your old Gameqube controller that was also the worst controller for fighting games of it's generation...

It's not surpising that Wii is being being left out on the fighting games. What it IS surprising is Capcoms decision to make "Tatsunoko vs Capcom" exclusively on THAT console!

Well I've got a 360 and a Wii and the controller on the 360 is also terrible when it comes to fighting games! Thankfully you can (same goes for the wii) purchase decent joysticks (and pads on the 360) that do fighting games some justice! ...so that argument doesn't really hold up?

The wii classic controller is actualy pretty good for fighting games too and the d-pads quite responsive (unlike on the 360)... and who really would use the wiimote and nunchuck for fighting games? lol

As for online I've played quite a few TvC games and have had a pretty good overall experience with the online modes - same goes for games like mariokart... yeah its no xbox live (lack of voice chat etc etc) - but its works ok and its free!

If you want to play TvC then get a wii... if not just go back to SFIV. ;)

I'm a PS3 owner.:p
The Dual shock 3 the second best controler for fighting games after the the arcade stick. Unless you have an arcade stick, you should buy your fighting games only on PS3.:mexwave:

I'll make do with 2 capcom fightpads, a hori stick and a te-stick for fighting games. :D The dualshock pad has a nice d-pad but the button layout isn't great for fighters.

THE best pad ever for fighting games was the sega saturn pad... perfect layout and a perfect d-pad. :)

The Nintendo Classic Gamepad and Gamepad Pro actually work very well with fighting games. I have a TE SFIV for my PS3 and got this Sega Saturn Pad clone from Play Sega, that actually works very well on the PS3... I still might try to get an arcade stick for my Wii, but only if the prices drop bellow 50€...

Imo, the Wii is not as bad for fighting games as some believe.

New games are thinner on the ground, but the virtual console offers some truly great fighting games, particularly from Capcom and there are a couple of gems for gamecube that work including Capcom vs SNK 2.

And imo, the Classic controller is great, as good as the Playstation pad or SNES pad it ripped off.

niether the N64, GC or Wii have had a precice enough dpad or stick for most figthing games. The combos in Capcom vs SNK 2 EO were nigh on impossible to pull off with the standard GC pad. there are some games developed to work well on these consoles. Smash Bros, Capcom vs Tatsunoko, castlevania judgement....These game all had simplified control schemes that worked well on the console because they were designed for it. They were also interesting beecause they were different, much like evil zone and destrega were on the ps1 because they were not simply clones of tekken or street fighter!
