What's the point in producing a game called MotoGP and then having to race for 2 seasons in another class before its unlocked. When I finally get there, I can only race for 3 laps. How is that an accurate representation of a sport that races over 20 or more laps. Have a look at older versions of the game by THQ. Thats what I'll be doing.

They should really have made seperate seasons where once you do get to a point you UNLOCK the next season but still have the ability to go into the previous one even though your are in the next one. It proves to be more versitile that way and gives you the opportunity to build your bikes when you want to instead of losing everything you do which is pointless. They really should have some sorta Forza style garage with the ability to pick and choose your bike, build your bike then test and tune as you see fit. With this current iteration of the game you are forced to do it in such a manner that doesn't give you any wiggle room for anything.

The laps issue isn't a biggy for me as I find three laps enough in single player but I think it is a silly omission for those who do want to race more. Thankfully multiplayer isn't subject to this limit, but I guess they don't have to get the career mode "rep" system to work across these possible multiple configurations.
I think the idea of a garage is an excellent one, this is certainly something I'd like to see in the next version. Being able to create a stable of bikes independant of career, configure them and time trial with them would be a massive addition (fully customisable paintjobs and leathers would be good for this as well:)).

Yep totally agree about the bike editor. I don't like the color pallette in 09/10 for one thing. I want my ducati to have the ducati red not whatever the red is there which surely isn't ducati red. Real sponsors to paste on the bike as well as the ability to made my own design as it really should be. The limited stuff we have right now at this point they shouldn't have even bothered rather put the dev time into making setups accessable from online and offline with the full stable of bikes and such. I hope they patch at least the setups thing cause that would open the game in a huge way that it soooo necessary right now. Then I think I would really like the game moving forward.
I agree with the color selecter could be better more robust, but I disagree with a step in the wrong direction. This Game is now Fun to Play ! im enjoying the Career Mode.

This games been an emotional roller coaster ride for me - from the pre release screen shots and video I really liked the look of the game, then I played the demo and hated the game, then I played it some more and slowly began to enjoy it, then I bought the full game and really began to enjoy it, then I finished the career mode and was looking forward to taking my newly built bike online only to find this entire area has been totally overlooked and is more or less useless! Now Ive stopped playing the game - I'll wait until May 21st and see if Monumental do release a patch to address these issues, if not - its SBK X here I come.

Well that is good for you man cause most of the people who have the game on my friends list think that the offline career is to much to bear. We all agree that it should be more like forza where you have a garage of bikes open to you, seperate careers for the classes because you can't go between them really at all. So yes it is a step in the wrong direction. Some things are decent but again there is alot to be done.

ALot of us are waiting for SBKX. I have a couple friends that bought the game and already brought it back, that sucks.
i too wouldnt say its completely bad, the colour picker is good.the surroundings of the tracks are more accurate bt god the physics are annoying, all you can really do is compare it to the motogp08 as (correct me if im wrong) thts the only other game thats been available on ps3, what i loved bout the old game was the midway between arcade and simulation handling, and as ive recently realised, the bike performance was the correct way round (de-puniet was NOT the quickest bike)
please please please, when the new update for the 2010 season is released re-solve the following issues:
more realistic traction control
option to set race distance
option to play own music on hdd through game
mayb put special liveries from races (like melandris spiderman from years ago)
oldskool bikes as rewards, they managed that on the ps2!

Yeah for some strange reason I personally thing games are getting worse not better, Its all about how much money they make nowadays and not because they are passionate and thats what they love to do. Like take Toca Race Driver 3 for instance, Man that game had everything a racing game could ask for, Simulation, Arcade, Loads of cars and tracks, I mean they even had lawnmowers and scalextric cars. Now look at Forza 3, Yes it looks nice but I hate the rest comparing to Toca 3.
Again look at Moto Gp 06/07 At least in those games you could even save the replays for later viewing, and personally I love watching replays of great races I had from say a year ago. Its all about money money money and even worse now coz they can hold onto game content till release and sell it for more money. Race Pro is almost dead online and offline. I want the Imola and Spa tracks but if you look they still 800 points each, The full games is less than a tenner to buy, lol.
Sort the game out please Monumental. Im playing SBK 09 till its either sorted or when SBKx comes out, Then after that its the F1 game by Codies. I simply carnt wait for that.
Oh and whoever said their friends had a copy of the new SBK game, They carnt have coz no one on the net has it, If anyone had a copy of that it be all over the net on torrent sites and stuff. I hope they dont get their hands on it but you carnt stop the net.

Totally agree Toca 3 was a game that all developer's should use as a bench mark when it comes to game play, in solo and online they did a fine job.
This incarnation of Moto GP looks good but that's as far as it goes in my opinion.
Maybe Moto GP 11 will be the ultimate GP experience.
For this season I will be off to The World Superbikes.

Im tellin ya man, If the brought out Toca 3 for the 360, Like one of those games on demand or something I would be playing that all over again like its new. I mean its not even backwards compatable with the 360 and theyve discontinued the backwards compatable games now anyway. Sucks man !
Thats why heres hoping F1 2010 will be awesome coz Codemasters knows fine well we all want the Toca roots, The simulation ! Their heart and soul ! Tyve been bombarded about it on the forums honestly they sure know. Just hope they deliver.
monumenal must head into simulation. The only people that are buying motogp games are fans of motorsports or motorbikes. And most of these people want a simulation game, not arcade. So why would they make an arcade game???

They all trying to delve into arcade and they all just seem to forget that your right, Motorsports Fans are motorsports fans for life, well same goes for most sports. Yeah we want full sim but they just dont listen for some reason. The reasons will involve money Im sure, They all want their cakes and eat it alone instead of thinking of the others around them. Their true fans. I suppose they have to put some arcade aspects in but their base should be sim.
