Wow! So after all they are going to release it outside Japan (which will come out this month in Japan)!

Story: After a nuclear holocaust the world lies in ruins. Most of earth's survivors include villagers who try to thrive on what little resources they have and the numerous vicious gangs and tribes who prey on them. A mysterious martial artist named Kenshiro, a man with seven scars on his chest and the chosen successor of the legendary assassin's art Hokuto Shinken (北斗神拳) has sworn to protect the weak and innocent from the malicious gangs that roam the scorched planet.

So what does this game offer? You are going to be able to destroy and interact with the environments. Face down dozens of enemies at once - String combos and attacks together to perform unstoppable killing moves.
Power Ups, lots of unlockables, hidden characters (it seems you will be able to play as Rei :)) and much more. And of course gore (if you know the series you know there is lots of it)!

Release date outside Japan: Summer 2010

I am huge fan of the series and I can't wait to ATATATATATATA my enemies :D!

I'll get it, though it doesn't look like it's going to be the best game in the musou series...

Koei Tecmo Europe's creative director and boss are trying to get me to cosplay Bat for a promo event. -_-

I'm already dead... *POW*

Edit:
I just want Shuren confirmed in the game, since he was voiced by Wakamoto for that one episode he was in, before being ripped in half by Raoh. ^_^'

Lindsey recently got me into Dynasty Warriors...and seeing this, I'm seeing Dynasty Warriors in the future.

It looks pretty awesome.

Are there already games set in this series? Are they available over here?

Nope, this is the first of the Hokuto Musou games.
If you want other Spin-off games: There's Gundam Musou (known as: dynasty Warriors Gundam in English speaking territories).

("Musou" is what we call the "warriors" series over here, so your vision of "Dynasty Warriors in the future" is 100% correct, since Dynasty warriors is called "shin Shangoku musou" in Japan. See the similarities? ;) )

From what I saw in the trailers, the game is nothing like an average dynasty Warriors game though, and more like an action brawler.
Basic attacks are not area-wide, and there's big boss battles in specific arena's, with both sides having a variety of special power attacks, not just combo moves.

Agreed, it looks more evolved to fit the storyline and setting, but the basic premise seems exactly the same...1 guy/commander fighting lots of smaller enemies and occasionally facing off against other commanders.

I've seen Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. It looked entertaining indeed, though I'm more interested in humans than Mechs.

Same, which put me off from buying the Gundam for a looooooong time, but eventually got it, and after some getting used to it, I found it to be really enjoyable.

Also, Since I'm home now, I just watched the trailer with sound.

Added it to the "definite buy" list, because the Storyteller is definitly Norio Wakamoto's voice. (If he's in it, I'll buy it, sheer fandom. Examples of this include Bujingai on ps2, DragonballZ games (Cell's Japanese voice) and Super Smash Brawl (Ganondorf shouts) )

I hope they don't dub the characters into poor English! The Japanese voices are way too cool!!!
