Hiya y'all!
Just some information abou this Springs Expo! I am always pleased to see you guys and I'm sure your pleased to buy anime from me! And to make me come over to the Capcom area and fall asleep...
But enough about that!
The dates are 29th and 30th of May 2010
I'm sure there'll be some sorta Capcom-y thing going on
BUT WAIT!
On the 29th, the Saturday, we will be attempting to beat a GUINESS WORLD RECORD! Its an official thing, as well. As in not a few people trying to have the most Naruto cosplayers near a river:blink:
We need YOU! to help is create the Largest Handheld Game Console Party in the WORLD!
All you have to do is be attending London MCM Expo the 29th of May 2010 and bring your DS and a Game. All DS formats are valid. The current record is held by Australia and was set back in October 2007.
The record attempt will be held at Noon in the MCM Expo Theatre. No forms to sign on the day, just be there and help make the attempt a success. The record will be completed by 12.30. Fantastic Random prizes will be given out during the attempt.
So no PSP's I'm afraid :(

Kinda lame, but hey, I decided I'll be going to the MCM instead of Epita, France that weekend, and I usually bring my DS even though I hardly play on trains and all. xD

By the way about the whole "most Naruto cosplayers near a river" thing...
I recently bought the Guiness book of gaming records, because there's some fun stuff in there, and it makes for good toilet literature;
The game cosplayers from MCM expo are indeed in the book, though the people from the book were stupid enough to include a picture which had characters from various anime's standing in the group, with a Kakashi holding the book, even, while the rules stated that it should be game-only characters, and not games based on anime's or movies. :facepalm:

well there are several Naruto game so I guess it kinda counts.
Th character has to be in a game first. So a Lara Croft film cosplay would be allowed as Tomb Raider was a game first. Naruto wasn't.
I was a part of the original cosplay world record thingy they did on the bridge by the Tate as was Diogo of course ^__^
I'll probably go to Expo as London is close by and I usually pop to it, my DS is always in my bag, so I'll attempt to take part probably :).

naturally we love all the cosplayers that are willing to part with cash at our stand. however, for those who like to theive, please! no more manga secreted in your akatsuki coats PLEASE! we're getting very good at catching you and sinister is actually a police officer and will be on hand! CITIZENS ARREST FTW
i think it will be fine without a cartridge so long as you fill in the form saying your attending and just turn up!

I'll definitely be attending, as will Hickabod, on the Saturday. :D Will hopefully be cosplaying if we can find some time to make our costumes. :p
And I'm in need of some more anime, so I'll be sure to stop by the Manga stall. :3

I knew a friend of a friend who things a few conventions ago, except it was small things like keychains and mini plushies. It made me sick to hear him brag about it afterwards. I think he got found out and kicked out of the convention early on. ^^
It just makes me feel so sorry for the stall owners who are losing out on business because of people like him. :<

but theres only so much you can do really. 95% of people that go to the expo are there to have a good time spend a bit of money on manga and such. we sell the products at cheaper then market prices anyway e.g. waterstones are selling manga at like 6.99 when at expo we sell it for a fiver! and the dvds are often available before store launch and are a lot cheaper.
but anyway, will be lovely to see you all!

I was talking to Leo yesterday at the Lost Planet 2 first to play event and he said they're probably not gonna have a stand there as they dont have any new games to showcase as MHtri and SSF4 will already be out by then

I'm still waiting for MCM to get Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles in for signings and photo's. I'd pay the £60 that covers both photo's and signings, as the Supernatural brothers are awesome!

I went as Sasuke a few years back, when Naruto was still in its early days. Last year I went as L from Deathnote. I want to cosplay again but dont know who to go as.....best get the thinking cap on!

The wall scrolls are very expensive, granted. However, if you look on ebay they are considerably cheaper. The problem is getting official ones. If you're not too bothered then its fines!

yeah I keep telling you to not be so picky, only apply for gaming jobs with no experience probably isnt gonna happen unless your really really lucky. just get a part time job doing some meanial mindless repetative tasks so you have more money to burn on the important things in life...like games
also theres nothing wrong with mcdonalds, that where i had my first job. your allowed to make your own burgers as well for your breaks and if you work on the fries bit you can eat them while you work

No one kill me. I'll be an SNK character on Sunday. Joining a few friends for a very long put off KoF group.
I'm really looking forward to the Masquerade this Expo with the Eurocosplay qualifier. There are going to be some really great costumes for that. The idea of being able to compete against some of the best cosplayers in Europe will probably be the big motivator.

In answer to the questions on whether Capcom will be at MCM or not this time, the answer is no - we wouldn't hany anything uber exciting to show right now.

I will most probably attend this event. I have not gone to any in a while anyway and the London anime exp is usually pretty fun.
Its a pity Capcom arent attending. Even if they arent showing any new games (Super Streetfighter 4, Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2 etc) they could have done with some presence even if it was with the MH Tri demo, and the Monster Hunter PSP area again. Missed opportunity there.

A good month or two passed in this thread, do we have any plans on meeting up/going for a drink by now?
I have the mobile numbers of Raine, JDK and Charmed, but that's about it.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning though, so my last info will be the things I read here tonight. ;D
Can't believe it's only in a few days! can't wait now, specially that I've heard Fist of the North star will be at the Tecmo Koei stand :D

Hey guys!
It is with my deepest regret that I am here to present you with a HUGE bundle of disappointment......
I won't be able to attend the event, as my leg still isn't letting me walk properly, and I don't really feel like trekking it that distance on train, and combating stairways in the tube system, when I don't know if my leg can support that amount of distance!
It would just take one knock, and I'd go flying down the stairs (with or without my single crutch), so no fun for me.
Instead, now that I can move my leg 90 degree's again, I think I'm going to see Prince of Persia in the cinema that night. :)
I hope you all have a great time, though!
I really wish I could have met the Gurren Lagann voice actor of Kamina. :(

makes more sense then the original
