I havint been on the forum in quiet abit but Im sure nothing much has changed apart from new users haha. Anyway I know many people make fake previews of dragonball z on youtube but Im after seeing an advert on t.v for a dragonball film which is not anime but people. I know its a long time since the anime series ended but do you think people will look foward to it?

It sounds like something worth seeing if they manage to find the right actors and visual effects look like in the anime! I used to rush home every day from school to watch it back in the days. :)

Have you only just found out about this movie?
I think it looks laughably terrible compared to the anime & manga.
Might be an entertaining DVD purchase, but certainly not an Box Office view for me.
I think the only winning factor in it all will be James Masters as Piccolo

Yup just found out about it. I usually dont trust any adverts or websites that promote it because its usually fan affiliated so I just want to see the film even if its terrible hahaha

Anime should not be touched by Hollywood. DBZ was my first Anime I ever watched, but the franchise is past its best.
Ill stick to the Japanese anime with sub-titles, thank you.

The film doesnt look very good imo, the only similarity between them are the character names.
Also I can never see a live action Dragon Ball Z work because it would just look ridiculous.
I used to watch DBZ and after the Namek arc I think it went downhill, this is the last great moment imo:

The anime itself went down hill slightly, but it still had some great momemnts and that certainly was not the last great moment. Ive read the entire Manga (comic) and I was dissapointed with the Majin Buu saga, but the anime version was, imo, very well done. Android/Cell saga was great in the manga and anime :)
Let me tell you something; the japanese version is 5 times superior than the english version imo, but I suppose it depends on the person. The anime itself is so much better than anything Hollywood can acheive.
That the clip of Trunks turning Super Saiyan in Japanese is incredible, way better than the English version. Heres another very good scene in japanese, one of my favorites

Another thing is becoming super saiyan was supposed to be a legendary feat but everyone starts become super saiyan, and then its no longer special after the first transformation not to mention they added a couple more stages of super saiyan as well.

Yeah, I know it became a bit too ridiculous with all the new transformations, but thats the only way the Saiyans could get stronger and its just for fan service .Being a level one Super Saiyan forever will not get them anywhere with some of the new villains that appeared.
The Namek saga was epic, though. One of my favs. But that scene I showed you of Gohan turning SS 2 was the greatest scene I have ever seen in the series; its so emmotional. And the Cell saga is not my favorite by any means...just that scene. :)
I beileve it was meant to end after the Freiza saga, but they continued on due to the popularity. Realistically, it should have ended after the cell games saga, as Gohan was , by the end, the strongest as he reached SS2 and surpassed Goku. To me this was quite good, and through out the series we were even given glimpses of his power. So in my mind, it was best to end it that way.
Then, after that arc finished...Gohan became weak due to school work -_-
And then...and then DBGT come along -_-
And they made Gohan even more gay -_-
I think they should have kept it to one stage and worked on new moves tbh.

A non-japanese Death Note movie? Finally! I hate reading subtitles. I dont expect it to be as good as the anime, but Im still happy about it :)
Dont let it be just a rumour...
