This week i got this problem, when i turn on the box with a controller, it tells me its assigned as 1st player, but the console itself tells me its the 2nd slot. Why lol ? Can i change it somehow ?
is you 360 stood up or flat?
Never heard of this problem befor

Its standing, my 1st controller will be assigned as 2nd ( on box 2nd light, 1st on controller ), 2nd controller 3rd ( 3rd light on box , 2nd on controller ) and if i turn on my guitar hero guitar it gets 1st on box n 3rd as controller. I dunno why, its so messed up.
Silly question here.
Try taking out your GH receiver then see what each segment corisponds with.

Mine has always been like that. Still registers me as player 1 though.

Hmmm.... ill try assigning all my controllers on a friends xbox n re assign em on mine without the GH guitar, maybe it works ^^ Thanks for ur help :d
Hello friends, I as planning to buy a XBOX 360 controller for my computer.
But will the controller made to work for the XBOX 360 work on a PC or do I have to buy a XBOX 360 controller specifically built for PC. And what extra things will I need? E.g- cables(what kind of cable). And will a wireless controller work or do I need to buy the wired controller? Please help.
There is no "Xbox 360 controller for PC". There is an Xbox 360 controller. Period.
Then: to play with a wireless Xbox 360 controller you need to buy a wireless receiver, it's about 20€. There is a package that includes a wireless Xbox controller and a receiver. It's about 55€ instead of 50€.
I suggest you to buy I wired controller, the cable is long 2,75m that is long for a PC and the official price is 35€.
I bought the controller when the Xbox 360 came out, only to use it on my PC.
