love the tees, been meaning to make myself a blanka and gief one for ages with the muscle lines and triangle of hair on the chest, says theres 4 different ones, maybe capcom has made one for me.
I just hope the choice of base t shirt is good, the gildan ones which which capcom europe have used for promo tees in the past dont wash very well at all in my experience, the cloth becomes tough rough & slightly faded. Also i really hope level up arent making the tees, my ryu one has faded noticebly after only a few cool washes, and i know its going to get worse as i saw Mao wearing one last year and it was very very faded. Compare these to the Cammy 1942 t shirt i got from the unity store and the contrast is marked, the cammy tee is a much better quality of material, heavier and still very soft and after more washes than the gildan ones too.
I don't really like any of that stuff. And I have Street Fighter 4, so I doubt I'll get SSFIV anyway :(

Tonnes of new characters, new maps and re-balancing! You're missing out :)
Plus, Super Street Fighter IV is likely to be at a lower price-point than Street Fighter IV was. And I've heard that owning both games unlocks something special...
Anyway, there are some really major changes in this game. I was a bit obsessive with the Street Fighter II series. I have my fair share of different versions of that. Many only had minute changes, but they improved gameplay a lot. Think about what massive changes in Super Street Fighter IV can do!
To be honest, I'm not too bothered with the alternative costumes (they hardly enhance gameplay), and I don't have an iPhone, so a cover won't be much use. But the ability to cosplay as your favourite character just by putting on a t-shirt... that's ingenious! I'm hoping to get the Ryu one... "I must defeat Sheng Long to wear this t-shirt!"

While i know it wasn't me you asked i felt it might be worth posting. What I would like to see is a collectors edition closer to SF 4 in the states. They got the anime dvd WITH A PROPER CASE, the soundtrack, a ryu style headband, one figure and the game.
I for one don't have an I phone and never will. A t-shirt i would never wear in public, and character skins for characters i can't stand using lol.
While i will get the game on day 1, i'm not interested in any of those so i won't bother pre-ordering it. I would like to have seen something like another figure (maybe those chun li figurines i've seen but can't find), promotional artwork, groovy posters. Free DLC is fine i guess but not something that i'm really bothered about. I never bought any of it for SF4.
I think the new anime movie is a must have too and should be included regardless of pre-orders. I read somewhere that capcom done some research and apparently concluded that no retailers had really been asked about it or something to that effect. Perhaps that was because everyone assumed there would be one anyways ;)

Normally that wouldn't be an issue as the game is good enough on it's own merits, but so are other games and they are offering collector's editions or incentives I do like, so whilst I was going to but both for release day, they've been pushed right out of the running and into the pick up cheap off ebay category.

I pre ordered at GAME before I even knew about the Pre order gifts so this is a pleasant surprise.
If I got to pick, I'd take a t-shirt. I'm hoping their is either a Zangief (fave character), Ken or Akuma (with his Kenji on the back) shirt.
I'd still really like to see the Collectors Edition out over here though.

There are 5 T-Shirt designs in all 4 iPhone covers and some other cool pieces that are TBC.

This is where it gets confusing!
Asda instore are offering the Ken Tshirt. Their games element of the website is run by a Company called the Hut who also run Zavvi.co.uk and who are offering a Blanka T shirt!
So ASDA instore for the Ken Tshirt Asda online for the Blanka

Yes, special editions will always cost more, and I get the logic of free appealing to more people than extras that cost, but you can have both, as Bayonetta recently showed, and sometimes freebies can have the same appeal as collector's editions. I remember how much of an incentive Wesker's Report was for me with Code Veronica X for example. Of course, I understand the logic that an ipod thing or T-Shirt may have more appeal to a more casual person who would pre-order, I just personally found it odd that there was nothing with a little more "hardcore" appeal too, especially when so many are sore about missing out on the awesomeness the Japanese Xbox owners get and when the game is coming out so close to another high quality fighting game. That said, I appreciate the reply and that Capcom at least listen to our opinions here.
just ordered my green meany t shirt from zavvi, soo chuffed its exactly like i envisaged getting done for myself back when sf4 hit but never got round to it.
Also a question for fonix or onlyonet, are the arms on the ken and ryu tees flesh colour or just plain white cos the digital preview of the ryu one you guys released recentlylooks to have plain white arms, would be the difference in me bothering to oreder an additional copy for an ansatsuken tee.

Sure the game might be cheap, but thats because you buy only HALF a game. We still are supposed to buy alle costume packs (as a real fan of the sf series).
So after many months of anticipation, we are let down like this?
Thought about ordering the US dojo edition, but they wont send it outside US Canada & Mexico?
Sorry to say this but this is ticking many fans off. I'm losing my interest in SF.

In saying that we'd also like the same launch date as the rest of the world its a bit of a shame that a game that requires time to learn is staggered like this. My friends will be three days ahead of me when i get this game.
Some will be in g1 before i even get online.
Alright we got better pre-order items which would be great if we could get the t'shirt of your choice from the retailer you trust/use.
I just hope capcom are taking notes here, i know they are looking to set up an online store like capcom us and hopefully that will solve allot of problems.

Grrr... I wanted the Ryu t-shirt, but GameStop doesn't operate in the UK, and I've never heard of Indies. I might have gone for the Guile t-shirt, but I live quite far away from a GameStation... I don't have an iPhone for a cover to be much use, and I don't really care for alternative costumes either.

Obviously Capcom DO care about sales and they're at least trying with some kind of pre-order which is more than some companies.
But the pre-order bonus was already far less enticing when compared to just the Japanese edition. When you look at the US version too, the pre-orders look even poorer, imo.
Last time I recall a game release being this dissapointing was when they released Ace Combat for the 360 without the flight stick in Europe.

Not entirely sure that"badly handled" is entirely fair on Capcom tbh.
There are loads of different retailers all after a preorder incentive to get customers to order frome them, so Capcom have done the seemingly fairest thing and shared them around - you simply have to pick what bonus you want and order accordingly.
Sure it's not ideal, but it's better than only one store having an incentive - at least this way we have a choice.
I just can't decide what I want! :D

This week I am buying BlazBlue, which I want as much as Street Fighter. It comes with a 96 page artbook.
Is a T-shirt that is as you say badly handled, a cover for something I don't own or DLC that will be worth less than £1 in a years time going to compete with that?

I'd rather pay a little more for something I want than get something free that I will never use.
That already made pre-ordering Street Fighter look less apealing.
Now that the US DOES offer a package that rivals Blazblue or any of the other collector's editions I am buying, the EU effort looks even worse, because we see what CAN be done with the exact same game.
And before you say, I know Not everyone sees it like me. Some are happy with the pre-order, and others are do not consider the lack of something more a deal breaker.
But that's the same in the US.
The difference is that Capcom US made it clear that small minority or not, their money mattered, it was worth the extra cost and effort to deliver something they liked too.
Capcom EU on the other hand made it clear our money was not worth the effort.
Shocking difference imo.

The list goes on.
All are asking for the same cash so I have to measure them up and it's not, by comparison, a good deal.
Again, I KNOW Capcom have made an effort, and I think it's great that so many people like what you did.
I'm just saying that I don't think it is as good a deal as some may because unfortunately, many other equally good titles have been pulling out all the stops.

Personally i think the lack of sales of he pevious special edition was more to do with the extras not being worth the £60 price tag. Talking of high end collectors editions the previous one certainly wasnt high end in tems of content even in if it was in terms of price. That imho is really why it didnt sell well and not because people who want a collectors edition are in the minority, in fact i think the opposite is true; imo lots of people want a special edition, they just want a quality one thats priced fairly.

Personally i think its an excellent deal, its a bit of a pain to have to shop around to find the tee you want and sad that they are not available for retail purchase so those of us who really like them could get the whole set but maybe when this euro store materializes? Still the real test will be how they wash, if its anything like the level up ones, its not going to be good, the color fades markedly from those in my experience after only a few cool washes :(

25 and a free t shirt is a good deal if we can get the one we want and the t's arent primark specials.
I didnt get the collectors editions of sf4 for a few reasons.
1) lack of funds
2) the action figures/models sucked.
3) I bought the strat guide book instead which to be fair is as good as toilet paper :whackangry:
4) and a not so good anime from what i'd heard at the time which to be fair i have since seen and liked.
5) oh and some costumes that i'd never use.
My wife recently bought a ce assassins creed 2 it was awesome what she got with it.
Like you say though you are dealing with a limited market in the uk and eu but in saying that you gotta speculate to acumulate. id have been happy with a ryu headband and a vega mask tbh....
Fighting games are on the up lets try and build on the fanbase eh?

Wasn't resident evil 5 gold meant to be £24.99 also? Every store i went into was (and still is)selling it at £29.99. Hopefully they will stick to the RRP this time

Simple thing everyone needs to understand: "Market" and "Is it worth it?". Ultimately, Capcom is a business. Like any other business, they're not going to flush money down a drain on something that may not work out or hasn't worked out before. True, the original SFIV CE was over priced but personally, I don't think the Dojo Edition the US are getting is that awesome either. The t-shirt bundled with it is. The rest I just think "Eh".
For the 50 people who wanted it, chances are they may do it next time since they will have the time to do.
For those who feel less inclined to buy the game due to no extra bonuses....really? Isn't that...like...silly? The vast majority of people will forget about the bonus once they're playing the game.
Anywho, where in UK is giving the Ryu or Guile t-shirt? I see the majority giving Blanka (zavvi, WHSmith, Blah etc) and only shopto with the Dhalsim. If there's no Ryu then I guess Dhalsim will have to do...represent my cousins! Then again, GAME have the DLC costumes. That Kato outfit for Fei Long is mighty appealing!

The reason were getting super is cause sf4 sold so well so saying there isnt a market there is a silly thing to say just make us a better offer for our cash.
As for the ce in the us not being that good its almost sold out and there having to make more over there and there are many uk players gonna import instead.

Wasn't resident evil 5 gold meant to be £24.99 also? Every store i went into was (and still is)selling it at £29.99. Hopefully they will stick to the RRP this time

The original CE dropped in price in many retailers rapidly. That says a lot.
I, myself personally don't think the Dojo Edition is THAT awesome. Some do, some don't. Heck, I'm still tempted to get one just 'cause but, I'm not gonna as...well...I wanna buy Pokémon...yeah...
The thing about the "better offer for our cash" is that you already are getting a decent offer. £24.99 (heck, Shopto is less than £22) is a fair price for what could easily be sold for £34.99. Easily. Capcom could go right ahead and sell it for that and they'd more than likely still be fine. Why? Because ultimately, the fans will cave in (and retailers will drop it by £5 as usualy, anywho). To the casual dude, yes it does look like a small update. To the rest, you know full well it's not and thus, the £24.99 most places charge is actually worth while. Think about it this way, Fallout 3 or Batman (or any football game). You may have paid £39.99 for them each. Out comes the GotY editions for £30 or less with all expansions. Super is essentially the same only it's not available as DLC for good reason.
Remember, what is in the game? 10 extra characters (even Virtua Fighter doesn't get 5 new charcaters in a new numbered game), bonus stages, new openings and endings (think of the effort in the animation process), new themes, new stages, new challenges, beefed up online (okay, this I think could've been DLC...), reworked game balance.
Anyway, long story short, £24.99 for a major updated game is a-okay.

I agree that were getting a bargain I would have paid twice that price ive already bought two stick and two copies of sf4 and costume packs for both so a full game for £25 thats got nearly everything i wanted in the game is fantastic. Also lots of buffs and debuffs going on.
Theres more than one side to marketing, the retailers you questioned may still be feeling the effects of the ce of sf4 but im sure there are people out there who have some cash in there pocket that would have been thrilled to get something collectible and this time nice.
That said you right i dont know the exact figures but im happy your taking it on board and talking about a ce for the next ssf4t put me down for a pre-order for both consoles. :bouncy:
Also when you open a shop are you gonna be selling em headband you had for sf4 in the us in it....? :chin:

I don't understand why we've got a Guile t-shirt (the team America song comes to mind), while the American's got a Dudley t-shirt? I would have loved a Dudley t-shirt in the current style (shirt with belt and bracers)! Still, the current range do have some serious kitsch qualities to them, good work! :)

Finally got around to pre-ordering my copy yesterday. Was REALLY hoping for a Ken t-shirt and had heard that ASDA had it as an in-store pre-order bonus.
So, I walked into my nearest ASDA and talked them about it and they didn't have the slightest idea of what I was going on about (even had to repeat the name of the game to girl at the cashier 3 times because she'd apparantly never heard of the game :p).
She made a phonecall to someone who didn't have a clue either (and I figured, well if they haven't heard anything about it by now, they probably won't) and they told me I should try one of the bigger stores. Besides the store where I live (which is already HUGE), the next place to go would be London and no way am I trekking all the way there by myself to pre-order the game and then pick it up the day after it comes out; seeing as how I can't get to London and back to school again during my lunch break like I can with my hometown (even if I DO love Ken massive amounts :().
So whatever, screw that idea. I headed over to my favourite shop in the world: Gamestation and put my name down for a pre-order with them. So, looks like I'm gonna be going home with a Guile t-shirt. No problem, Guile's still cool. (Plus it gives me an excuse to go into back into Gamestation and talk to the guys that work there. They love Street Fighter tooo <3)

I've already got 3 other Ken t-shirts so I'm not massively bothered but I just wanted to prance around the house whilst shoryukening and pretending to be him. Baha :D

Looks like i'll be getting mines from HMV, the t-shirts and Myphone(thats what happens to an Iphone when it gets stolen) covers don't interest me but the japanese artwork will at least stand out a bit.

Yeah seems like the "european" preorder items are just for the UK. Great its not like people would like to get them outside the UK. And its not like we dont have Gamestop in Germany. WTF really. And to make it worse i cant even get the shirt i want if i order online.
How difficult..... someone from Germany wants a T-shirt. How would we send such a difficult item outside of the UK.....

hold the bus is this all online or offline i preordered my ps3 copy from game and they have no details of any preorder bonuses (the costume packs) My 360 copy at gamestation and they didnt have a clue about any guile t-shirts.
Ive been getting asked on eventhubs by other members about them too, the confusion with asda doing blanka t-shirts when it should be kens and the iphone covers at hmv... so any chance you guys can clear this all up for me and others. :blink:

If nothing's being advertised, there's most likely no bonus.
(And basing this purely on my ASDA) It doesn't look like ASDA (instore) have a pre-order bonus at all and since no-one's yet confirmed the Ken t-shirt to actually exist. Meh.

So if I want 3 games equally but can only afford 2, and 2 offer lots of extras that make for MORE enjoyment, it's silly to find the only one that doesn't less appealing?
Or what if I can afford the UK OR Japanese version of the game?
One offers a game AND stuff I collect and enjoy, the other offers just the game.
Again, how is it silly to find the deal that offers less pleasure to me less appealing?
We mostly all buy games for enjoyment. The more enjoyment it gives the more it appeals.
If one game offers less enjoyment we feel less inclined to buy it than one that offers more.
There's nothing silly about that.

Would be awesome if they gave out Akuma Gi uniform. Sadly I doubt that would happen.

If you can't afford or have the resources for it then that's just too bad and really, in that situation moaning is probably the last thing one should be doing. Let's also face the fact that if, for example the Japanese SSFIV came out here, chances are it'd costs a fair bit more. Guess what'll happen? MORE MOANING! It's the natural order of things. Ultimately, just play the darn game and be happy.
All I've said applies to one game though, so in your case of wanting 2 or 3, then looks like you need to prioritise or something. If you're a collector, get what's more worthwhile and probably going to be harder to find later down the line. If you're not, then you're probably going to forget about any physical bonus once you start playing the game.

Which is what I am doing, and why I was complaining.
I live in the EU which has it's own Capcom, yet I am looking at both US and Japan to supply me because my own region is not keeping up.
It is completely justifiable to ask why they failed to deliver where every other Capcom succeeded.
See, like anyone here I'm here because I like Capcom, and I want to support my home region, so rather than just abandon them now I'm no longer forced to buy EU by region locking I talk to them, and tell them what as a consumer would make me WANT to be still buy Capcom EU.
Being vocal doesn't guarantee people get what they want, but saying nothing guarantees they won't.
Of course, they gave me an answer in regards SSF4 and I accepted that, I'm not posting here out of protest or to kick up more fuss or anything, I'm solely discussing points others have made now.

Here you seem to miss my point. Of course I do, Every time we buy stuff we choose one thing over the other unless we're incredibly rich or have few interests.
My point was that, with this being the norm, companies often compete for that money, give us the best package so we choose them.
Capcom's efforts seem half hearted at best, especially when another fighting game released just a few weeks before offered so much for so little.
Again, it's easy to just buy the other game, which I did btw, but it's far more constructive to let Capcom know why I lost interest in their product, and what I would, as a consumer, like to see if they want my money again.
If they choose not to act on that in future, so be it, but at least I gave feedback that offered them the choice.
Got my game from hmv today, really excited to play it, but am at work though. It did come with a sleeve too, but not that exciting, just another front picture lol back is the same as the case. Didn't get the iphone cover yet though, hmv said they got delayed due the volcanic ash, so should get it later. Excited to see the news ultra's, new chars and online modes, can't wait to get home
Well I got back from my hols today expecting my pre-order from Game to be in the post (seeing as my friends got there's yesterday from the same site)... but there was nothing there. :( I checked my emails and something happened and it got canceled?
I could have re-ordered from them but couldn't be bothered to wait (the preorder bonus wasn't that exciting anyway) so I popped into town and got a copy from HMV seeing at retail it came with something different (the case).
I'm Loving the game so far from the brief time I've had on it. :D
