View Full Version : Why is it that BackBone can make a better Street Fighter than Capcom?
I was really excited about street fighter 4 but now Im finding myself thinking why? The final boss is an utter joke (how can he do a shoryuken while grabbing at the same time?). The music is the same old lame jpop language (Ten)! The anime cutscenes are cool Ill give it that! But the point Im trying to make is that SF2HDRemix is a much better fighter than SF4. So I ask you dear SF fans how can a studio contracted to make a remake of a game over 20 years old do a better job of it than the developer that created the franchise?
Discuss dont flame!

I dont usually play fighting games with human players which is probably why my interest has declined these last few years. I have decided to start playing people though and will be on Live soon. I think it brings a fresh breeze to any fighting game since playing against the CPU feels so unsatisfying. I prefer SF4 to 2 simply because I have always loved making use of Super Combos.
The only things that language (Ten) are Seth and I dont get why the Ultra Combo are more powerful than a Super Combo. It feels like a reward for getting pummelled whilst the Super takes a lot of effort to build up:?:

Someone is language (Ten) about the difficulty and decided to flame the game instead of working on his own skillz here.
Seth is ridiculously annoying, I will give you that. But through time, you can find a way to easily beat him with most characters as he never have only one strategy and cant adapt. This fact doesnt take anything away from street fighter IV, as its a way better fighting game than street fighter II. What they really screwed up where backbone succeded is the lobby. 1vs1, what a joke.

You complain about the (awesome) soundtrack but then go on to say the Anime scenes are nice. Riiiiighhhtt.
For what its worth, Capcom didnt develop the game either. DIMPS did.
Seth is much easier when you learn how to play against him. A combination of focus attacks and clever pre-emption should do the trick.
But yeah, do your research next time =) As for Backbone, they didnt make Street Fighter 2, they ported it.
The best way to beating Seth in my opinion:
Grab him, if your successful Focus attack, by this time he will just have gotten up and gets hit by this, he automatically goes down again, rinse and repeat...
It worked for me, 1st time :P
I know its a noobish way to go but if you want to keel him that badly, its there.
Seriously I have not had any issue with Seth. I am playing on medium difficulty just getting use to my xbox pad (I am use to by 6 button dreamcast saturn style pads).
Seth is nowhere near as frustrating as Gill in SF3:3S, maybe because I have been playing that for a-g-e-s that I dont see the problem with Seth. When I am used to the game, I will up the difficulty, as it is not evident from your posts if you are playing on the hardest setting or medium standard.

LOL you say SF2HD is better than SF4 and say the anime cut scenes are cool. The cut scenes are the weakest part of the game.
SF2HD remix is good. SF4 is the King of the fighters. Tekken 6 will have a lot to do to beat it.

What facts do you base this on?

honestly in my opinion, a boss fight should be a hard fight, after all, its a boss.
secondly, your not supposed to be able to pick up the pad to a new game and be expected to own everything that walks, thats why sf2 has had such a history. its had so many years to evolve. i think in time sf4 will be the best, and give it a few years people will laugh at Seth ;)
