Having a lot of problems with sf4 nework play that I know other users are having too. The list of servers that come up are filled with very poor connection servers ( I live in the uk with a fast connection and this is never normally a problem). I also get periods when it will not let me join games for a long perid of time, when I try to join it will say unable to play . If i quit out and back in it seems to maybe help. Also when I choose to filter servers by sutiable connection it comes up with a msg saying it cant find any servers , which is probably because I have seen very few green connections while playing. I am playing on a ps3. Please help or release a patch to fix this problem as it is hampering my enjoyment of an amazing game.
I take it you mean SFIV?
If so whats you NAT settings?
Check it under your Internet status in the settings of the XMB

It says Nat : type 2 on internet settings.
Just NAT 2?

Resaion I am asking is thier are two NAT 2 settings one is open and one is moderate.
I will find some infor on port forwarding to see if that helps.

Hey,
Im having identical issues with the game (SF4) on the 360, Im on 20mb broadband with my NAT open and all the ports forwarded. I have no problems in other games i.e. big team slayer on halo3...
How does the online play work? Does the user host the game or is it via dedicated servers that both users join?
For I cannot play online at all, the lag is so terrible! My character jerks across the screen at something similar to 5fps...
Are capcom aware of this issue and is anything being done to resolve this?
Thanks.

On 360 it is peer to peer, which does mean one of you is the host, so the problems may be with the other guy if all your settings are right.
welcome to Capcom Europe.
Fair dos Ive played over 50+ games all with lag, I would of thought by now that there would of been at least one game without.
The connection there side cant be honestly that bad can it!?
Under ranked match all I see is the network symbol flashing with no status bar.
Do you have any ideas on what I can try to stop the lag???
Fighters are extreemly vunrable to lag with all the presice moves you can perform.
But i also think some gamers are making the game lag on purpose from what i have seen today at a freinds.
He was wining and all of a sudden he could hardly move due to lag.

You can call up your ISP and tell them to put you on fastpath, that is if you're on DSL and if you're not already on it. But there is not much you can do, if people on the other end artificially restricting data flow to cause lags.
Fastpath or Interleaving, it is up to you, but one warning some ISPs in the UK might charge you if you want to switch back to Interleaving. So line with lower noise or lower latency, it is up to you.
Other thing is, assign IPs to your consoles and put them into dmz, i doubt people want to hack them anyway.
I've usually put my xbox in the dmz and assigned it's own ip address.
I'll ring the isp and find out costs and so on with Fastpath. Thanks for the info :)
Recently its been pretty good, 3/5 games are lag free or have the slight shudder.
