The company has revealed in a recent Q&A that it wants to bring the immensely popular fighting game to the PlayStation Portable, joining the recently revealed iPhone version.
Capcom's Natsuki Shiozawa has said that she wants the game on PSP and that many of her colleagues agree. With SF IV coming to iPhone, it's no stretch to imagine an easy port over to Sony's handheld system as well. Plus, we've already had the likes of BlazBlue, SoulCalibur and Darkstalkers hitting the system, so why not Street Fighter IV as well?

Capcom has stated all along that they want to release Street Fighter IV on as many systems as possible.

But I'd have expected such a game to be released on Nintendo DS before PSP since the former has sold more units, thereby opening up a greater amount of potential puchasers.

Either way, I'm unlikely to get such a game on either system. I'd personally find it more suitable on an iPad, whenever I get my hands on one.

I saw a video of the Iphone one.... it looks disgusting to play, and that's coming from a biiiiiiiiiiiiig fan of the game, who's still playing it to this day, from release date. <_<

It'd look a great deal nicer if they used 2D sprites rather than cramming the style to work with weaker consoles.

As for the iPhone version, how anyone could control that is beyond my comprehension, the PSP version, whilst the PSP has terrible controls, at least it HAS buttons.

I would rather have street fighter 3rd strike on PSP...
Street Fighter Alpha 3 max looked great on the PSP so imagine how 3rd strike will look like.
Also 3rd strike didn't get a European release on the playstation, so it will give players the chance to try it.

I Agree! third strike is soreley neglected and it was one of the best main series games so far. a Psp version would be awesome.

As for the ds: i'd love to see ssiv on the platform as long as they leave out any unnecessary touch screen shenanigans. the i phone version looks terrible and after Resi Degenerations dreadfull controls and clunky graphics i am not optomistic.

Yeah I completly agree the controls look terrible on the iphone! lol

I'd defo get this if it came to the psp though (although without modding the d-pad on the psp the controls are also a bit iffy for fighting games).

The iPhone game is great fun, if people expect it to play just like the console version well its their misunderstaning :) It's just fun and it looks brilliant

As for PSP, yeah of course Capcom would like to release SF IV on every console that might bring money. My bet is they are already working on both SSF IV A.E. and MvC 3 for the PSP 2.

I think it will work. If we would get it..we would probaly get it on the new PSP2.

I always love myself fighting games on the go.
