SF4 will NOT explain or have anything to do with SF3. Well I have some news! SF3 is still part of it!
Can Tenebra explain why Capcom sometimes in their games dont explain the other installments properly? DMC4 comes to mind......
Were gonna be left to ponder on the cast of SF4 again......
Since the timeline states that SFIV takes place before SF3 , it makes sense for the game to have no links to it, as those events have still to occur.
Oro hasnt taken Ryu for training yet,
Gill hasnt decided to take of the world yet, so theres no reason for Alex to save his friends daughter, etc...
Im guessing the reason why producers dont always offer everything of the story to the player on a silver plate, is to get the fanbase going:

I understand where youre coming from, but my point is, after SF4 officially finishes and SF3 happens where do all the SF4 cast go?
Did anyone else notice that T Hawk and Dee Jay arent in SF4?
The biggest gripe people had with SF3 was the lack of SF4 characters. So its not all that surprising that theyre making 4 take place between 2 and 3, so they can actually add all the SF2 characters without messing up the lore.
If it sells (which it will), I wouldnt be amazed if thisll end up like the Mega Man franchise - constantly not explaining how said gap in the storyline is filled, to ensure another possible sequel.
Not that it matters, seeing nobody plays fighting games for the plot.
