Seems their products are already suffering from bad quality.

Thanks very much for that link, i havent ordered my Stick yet and now im doubtful about whether to get it at all, unless Madcatz can fix the issues for later releases

Briefly read the thread and it seems its to do with the Standard FightStick. Luckily, MarkMan also mentioned taking care of those who opened it to investigate the problem so that should be ok.

Link for the TE sticks.

Pads are also problematic, but I cant find a dedicated thread on them.

Ah, I see. I read about some issues with the pad. Kind of sad considering how hyped up these products were. Still getting one...or a few though.

The design of the sticks is very good, the standard edition is soooo easy to mod with replacement parts, not like other retail sticks that have the buttons soldered directly to the pcb, these sticks use push connectors and a 5 pin on the stick and even have a terminal block so no soldering is required!

I got a mad catz pad brand new, it doesnt work and doesnt look like itd be too good even if it did. Id recommend using the ps3 pad it works fine, or getting a hori stick for about 40 pounds online.

To be honest if you expected anything else from MadCatz you were fooling yourself. Get the Hori ones - awesome quality.

Im gonna get the 360 Hori stick. Way cheaper and Horis a far more reputable brand than Mad Catz imo.

Fooling myself/ourself were not, ha! The sticks are pretty awesome after all. Some dont like them thaaat much but for a Madcatz product its very, very solid. Definitely not what youre used to seeing from them. Ive only got the TE version (well...a few) but the standard seemed alright, too. 360 TE is slightly heavier than the PS3 version though.

heh, nah they really are surprisingly good. I havent had issues with my sticks just yet but theyre so solid. Doesnt mean Ill trust Madcatz later products but the direction is very good.

I suppose with such pressure they had to make them decent. Still, Ive heard reports that Hori ones are much better. Good to see that you actually secured one though! Our supplies apparently arrive in April. The fans are rabbid, I tell you!

Lucky I dont care - and use a controller with pride. =P
