I guess they HAD to, since she's Ibuki's rival... (according to their special intro in SFIII anyways..)
Except for her wall kicks, I really don't see anything in her design as a game character.
And seeing as how her secondary ultra is one of these wall kicks, it's going to be so easily blocked...

Cool, but was hoping they would pick one of the more unique SFIII characters than Makoto. Twelve for example. But, still.. this is going to be great :D

jarl i think u might be suprised by makoto, if she plays just the same as she does in 3rd strike shes going to be a monster.
Flote visually she might not be very unique but playstyle wise she's one of the most unique characters ever, how can you not love a different normal for every strike + a foward!?
as for the ultra version of her arare tosani, come on jarl ofcourse she's going to be able to focus cancel a special into that thing, heck her karakusa alone might even give enough frame advantage to combo it.

From what I see in the shots, it's like Claw though, in that he'll have the entire period where he jumps to the wall.
Ergo, looking at it again, it's even further, since she's in the top corner, not just against the wall.
Even if you focus cancel, there's going to be a strict timing, since the opponent falls flat on their face....
I'm sure people who were very big into SFIII are going to hit me hard with her, in ways I can't even begin to imagine.... as long as they're not trying to win by doing chip damage with her forward normal moves, huh Jack? ;)

Yeah just like claw but the animation is very very quick, if you check some vids of the super version from 3s on tube i think u will be amazed by how quick it activates. The thing with claw is the motion is a charge motion so i cant see how you would focus cancel a special into his ultra (unless you use the ultra motion to dash out of focus but im not sure if thats even possible?) which is problably why you imagine the ultra abare tosanami wont be very good but it will almost certainly be a double half circle > triple kick acivation. Whatever happens im sure there will be enough hitstun to fadc it off something or juggle it off the fukiage. :)
Ok now if the game is not release on PC I'm going to behead myself with an arcade stick :eek:

Nice. Never really used Makoto in SFIII (Yun!) but definitely gonna try main-ish her. Fei Long still remains my main (and I barely used him in Super Turbo, either). Hoping to pick up Guy as well. I'll give Dudley and Ibuki a shot. If they're fun like Fei Long, they shall remain in use.
In the mean time, Fei Long buffs, PLEASE!
I really do hope they'd at least buff Guile and Vega, they really need more love, or at least on par with the mid-tier peeps. Oh and of course the obvious ones such as Sakura, Dan, Fei Long etc etc.

Really curious to see how Makoto will end up playing. I loved her in SFIII, but just feels a bit bland in that trailer, especially next to extravagant characters like Dudley and Ibuki.
Anyway, awesome stuff! And funny to see how the list that was floating around at the time SSFIV was announced has been right the entire time.

Somehow their ultras doesn't appear to leave much of an impact. I the enemy opponent appear to pretend that he is getting hit, rather than being actually beaten.
Also the Eng Voice acting of Ibuki and Makoto is really bad. This kind of treatment isn't unusual for localized Japanese games, but these two are actually falling behind the series standards...
This is bad since Makoto is my favorite character.
Lets hope that they'll get fixed in the final version!
So makotos super is tanden renki then! makes sense i suppose as her two other 3s supers occupy ultra status now, shame i was hoping for a super version of abare tosanami as super cancelling that thing would off been major fun but honestly its all good as i wont ever have enough ex for super anyway :D

Exactly that one. It's not the damage it does to your opponent's health bar that's powerful - it's the emotional blow. Follow up a succesful one with a dash in and THEN another one! They will cry!
AWEEEESOMEEEEEE!!!!! this looks like it may be the best 30 quid i ever spend! I love the new intro as well, although it looks like juri is a bad guy, which is a bit of a shame. Glad Ibuki is back. so now whe have Juri, Guy (yay), Cody, Dudley, Makoto and Ibuki back. my money would be on either Sodom or yun (please god no!) for the final character.
