View Full Version : Some of my professional artwork [House of the Dead: OVERKILL]
Some of you might recall that I actually posted this ages ago, but I had to delete it when I found out that some magazines had exclusive rights on some of the content, so I had to wait for all the previews to get published.
Nonetheless, here it is again. -You can also see some of it in the model viewer in the game, so youll be able to rotate and have a closer look.
Anyway, hope you like it.

Are these all your work?
Theyre pretty cool.
I cant wait to see this game in action.
Cheers, mate.
Yeah, its all my work, except for the 3D meshes of the characters. -Those I only tweaked a bit and textured.
I really enjoyed doing the zombies. They do have a lot of details [like wotp_ branded clothes, needle marks on the ladys arm, maggots in the shirtless guys wound etc], even though you wont ever see it in-game. Its just nice knowing its there.
I actually wasnt part of the initial House of the Dead team as I was originally hired to work on a different game but was moved around after a while, so most of the other artists pretty much built a level each. They did a really good job on it too. Theres a lot of nice touches.
I started working on HotD as well as some other stuff a week after the first press release [with the team photograph that was sent out a couple of weeks before Leipzig]. So even though I wasnt on it from day one, it was definitely a great project to work on, and I got to do some really cool stuff.
Headstrong and Sega are great flexible and open minded people. You have a lot of freedom to make things your own, which is awesome!
Some cool stuff their clay.
Theres the Handcannon! :d
Ordered the real but not deadly one today along with the collectors edition, itll be delivered by monday, Cant wait to play it. :)
I really do appreciate those minor details Clay, its good to see that youve built it from the ground up thinking of details and quirky humor to match, excellent work man. :)
Those are great dude, Ive got the game ordered so lets see what its like blasting your work to pieces! :P
Thanks guys. I trust youll enjoy [shooting my artwork in the face in] the game :)

Had to pleasure to be playing the game since wednesday and have to say that its really impressive what you guys achieved visually! :)
The blood splatter effects that happen with gunshot wounds are indeed very cool to see in different body shots.
Im glad you like it! The blood effects was actually added very late on alongside with the stylish front end, and it really did a big difference. Its probably one of the nicest visual things in the game. :)
I swear there's a zombie in this that looks like Uncle Albert from Only Fools and Horses xD
Hehe, ah yeah. The bum. My mate made that.
