View Full Version : Dead Rising 1 on PS3
Were Have heard the great news of Dead Rising 2 comming to the PS3 and PC but why isent Dead Rising 1 comming to PS3 and pc first as its on the wii aswell. It would be great if capcom put dead rising 1 on the same disc as dead rising rising 2 as the blueray disc could easily hold it. Whats everyone think.
be nice but I would doubt it would happen now.
Welcome to capcom europe forums :)
Yeah, this annoys me too, when a games sequel is multiformat but not the original, its possible that it could get a port as the same happened to Lost Planet, but I reckon that the reason they ported it to Wii is because most PS3 owners also have a Wii on the side.

I see it as Capcom finding the Wii to be an intriguing console for many of their franchises. Hence the decision to port Dead Rising to a console that focuses on motion control. Playing a game like Dead Rising on the Wii could be a more exciting prospect on paper.
I dont really see the lack of a PS3 port as a problem. Its like Condemned. The first never made it to PS3 but the second did.

Its realy for the back story as a lot of PS3 owners dont have a 360.
One of my faverate games of the current gen.

While that may be, I never found Dead Rising to have much of a meaty story anyway. Outbreak occurred, job done.
I think once we get in to the second one, well find that the first wouldnt be as much desirable. Of course, thats easy for me to say as I used to own the first one. ;P

Never played Left 4 Dead so I cant really comment on it.
Either way, a little research on the internet and those who havent played the first one will be up to scratch immediately. Besides, Im sure Blue Castle will include some form of history of feature, be it as an in-game mention that explains what happened (the trailer briefly touched upon the first games events) or as a seperate feature of the game altogether.
i have a ps3 but xbox broke and i did have dead rising but i think it would be a great idead that when dead rising 2 comes out for ps3 and pc they should do like both games in one box you know what i mean
please write back
I have a 360 and I m not a fan boy, I personally hate fan boys most of the time, sometimes they are needed.
Great to watch 360 and PS3 fans boys argue over a game so much fun.
But yes back to the point I think dead rising 1 should be released on the PS3 possibly with DR2 for like a special edition game.
I like when games are on all platforms then everyone can just play and stop arguing bring peace and harmony while killing zombies.
A port to the PS3 would make Capcom some big bucks.. as long as they didnt release Dead Rising 2 on PS3 immediately.. if they did that people would just wait and buy DR2. then DR1 would be a 100% flop.

is it true that there bringing the first dead rising to the psn store.i heard this awhile back but cant remember where
No their is nothing planned for PSN with Dead Risisng 1
No plans for Dead Rising PS3 version i'm afraid. The original game was developed exclusively for the 360 so to create a port would be very expensive and time consuming. Would any PS3 owners really want a port of a 4-5 year old 360 game coming out after Dead Rising 2?
Those that haven't played the first needn't worry Dead Rising 2 will be easily accessable to everyone without the need for playing the original 360 title.
I would imagine that the best idea was a video recap of the first game before the second one starts.
Developing Dead Rising 1 for the PS3 would cost too much money for less than guaranteed returns, they're probably having to be cautious as it is in this economic climate.
good idea pblive. We'll look into this.
Hopefully the first part to make ps3:p

Isn't that the point of the Wii edition? most PS3 owners have a Wii "on the side", it's relatively the same story with the canonical being slightly wavered by surviving characters that did not survive in the original and vice versa.

Right first thing I have to say is, Sorry to any 360 fans but I think it is a terrible console!
I love the 1st game of Dead Rising, played it on cousins 360:mad:!
But come on CapCom do something for all us PS3 fans release the 1st one before you release the second 1 thats like offering someone to watch the 5th saw film before all the rest of them - my point is that theres no point!
Just please!!!! get it to PS3 A.S.A.P:p

WooHoo! LOL :thumb:
Have you not been following the thread? Its unlikely that a PS3 port would be ready in time, since it would require about, 3 years work to get it in a PS3 worthy condition.
And besides, simply saying that you dislike the Xbox360 is a terrible arguement for a port...

I agree, Capcom could release a Dead Rising Limited Edition with both DR 1 and 2 for the Playstation 3 system. Great idea Watson.uk:)

Its too late, Dead Rising 1s Golden Age is long gone, re-releasing it now would be.. kinda pointless. I mean sure thing they did it with Resident Evil but that was a complete remake and not just a port, but they also ported Resi 2 and 3 to Gamecube, but then again.. I don't know why they'd bother with Dead Rising 2 already on the way.
