Hey everyone!!!
As part of the "Cortez Birthday and Yearly Calendar Compilation", it's that time again!
What time, I hear you say? Well, it's the time when I create another competition for the Capcom community. :D
So, what do you have to do?
Simple. It's Shrove Tuesday (otherwise known as Pancake Day), and so all you have to do is make a pancake and cut out the insides to make a Capcom related image/silhouette.
You can make multiple if you like, but there will be only one winner.
The best pancake design wins a prize, which Ten is kindly providing for the competition.
So remember guys and girls, as always, have fun and get creative! :D

Awesome, do we get bonus points for making a shaped pancake, without cutting it? :D
Could also use syrup to add detail :)
Look forward to giving this a go after work :) Is there a limit to pancake type, or can we do british style or american? :)

I think a British pancake would be easier to cut shapes into, it's thinner and less fluffy so you should get nicely defined edges to it. I shall see what I can make later :D
I doubt I'll be able to; I'll be making a big stack tonight, so it's usually pretty in-and-out.
I'll see though, I do have an idea :D

Iain - Unless it sticks to the pan, like mine do, on my useless frying pan. :(
Cat - I was thinking about making it English only, but I can't do that, as some people might only know how to make crepe's, or other forms of pancakes, so it's completely open to any type of pancake, baring in mind that this is a European forum.
I'm still hoping to see the majority of submissions as traditional, english pancakes though. :p
That's for designing with syrup, and somehow shaping your pancakes (I'm guessing in the frying pan) without cutting them. Sure, go nuts!
I will say now though, that it's much easier to put designs in the typical english kind of pancake, but if you want to try it in more, feel free to go right ahead and do that. :)

I did have an xbox cake once. I think it was for my 18th, but the only way you'd know about that is if you've come from the Playstation forums. ;)
So much black icing. You looked a mess after you'd eaten it, but it was so so nice.
Also is there a deadline, so like 11:59 tonight?

Also you've said you can submit multiple entries, but does that mean that each entry can only be made of a single pancake? :)

If you really wanted to, you could make lots of pancakes into one huge design. ;)
I wonder if you could make a really really big pancake in a small pan, by pulling it out a bit and putting more batter in.

You've then got the worry then of maybe setting it alight or burning it, dependant on your oven.
Unless of course you've got people to hand that can hold it for you :P
That's true. I think I'll stick to my usual technique: One ladle of batter at a time, sprinkle some blueberries in, flip once, and then in the oven to stay warm while I do the others.

*edit* I just realised, I still get to go out if I want tonight, as Donna is going to salsa. I think I'll play Trials HD for a bit :)

Pancakes are kind of yellow-y, so if you have Blueberries, then maybe you could crush them up so they go into a blue paste, and make the Capcom logo. ;)

yeah that wont actually be in the instructions. Basically you can purposfully throw yourself off the bike by pressing the Y button, but if you press it again while sailing through the air you can grab hold of stuff, like the ceiling or an object. It's pretty funny when it glitches out and your arm stretches 10 foot long.
Me and Nik found that out by accident, t'was the night before the MHTri event...but thats another story
Anyways, back to pancakes, I have some premade american style ones in the fridge which i think im gonna go 'decorate'

I tried to buy some ready made after lunch at Yo!Sushi's Captain Nik, but the Sainsburys was a local one, and all they had was that batter mix. I will not subject myself to burnt batter mixture like last time. My tummy ached for at least 2 days. :p
Where are the photos of Chun Li's lady figure "cough", manly legs "Runs away". I demand Cammy and Rosie on pancakes guys like right now. :p

Haha, the batter is really easy! How did you burn it? :p
Have the saucepan on a low temperature, and steadily pour the batter mix into the middle of the pan.
Before long, it'll start cooking properly, and then you can flip it over and do the other side. Though, if it sticks to the pan (like mine), you'll need to unstick it, before doing that. :p
Honestly, if you get like the £1 batter mixes, they have instructions on them, and should come out fine, providing you mix in the right amount of milk. ;)

Well we tried and it just got so stuck and started to look more like scrambled eggs. Now that is why places like Sainsburys have them in packages. :)

I'm let off, as I don't know if mum can be bothered with pancakes today, and I'm too tired to cook my own. I am however, meant to be going to my best friend Rich's later (if I'm awake that long), so may be having some there. :p
I'd love to make a viewtiful joe one, but it would take so long, haha.

Hmmm, nobody has posted anything yet, which is a bit of a shame.
As an inspiration (and since you English people still have three more hours to think of something) here's an exceptionally crappy Pancake decoration!
I'll forgive people for not recognizing it, since I didn't exactly try to get the whole thing right, but it's Dr. Wily's logo from various Megaman games.

Oh, Jar you sweep me off my feet with such touching photography.
It's not Cammy but Dr Willy is pretty neat too and I can totally see his pointy hair ends in there.
Would something like a stencil make it easier to do basic sketches on them?
Your pancake skills put mine to shame and so I must take my leave.

It's a bit of a shame that Draconacticus, Soop and other members didn't enter, but I'm not going to extend the deadline, as a deadline is set for a reason, and it would be hugely unfair to those of you who entered on time.
Anyway, I've only played the original Gameboy Megaman, so I did a quick look around for that logo which you did, Jarl, and it definitely looks like a good resemblance. :)
However, Cat's the Pancake Queen, and her Servbot face looks absolutely awesome. The logo came out pretty well, too. Nice choice of background colour for the pancakes. :D
I'll sort your prize out tomorrow, as I'm out all day today (which is a pain, as I need to redo my Monster Hunter advert entry). Have a great day!

That's the one I used. I didn't make any Capcom pancakes, but I did try flipping one (disaster).
And I managed to upset Donna by eating them all before she came home (although realistically, she was late twice).

Yea, shortly after sunday night.....so I still classed it as sunday, as I hadn't gone to bed until I posted this up. :p
Haha, I'll give you more time with the next events anyway, but I had two options....don't do anything, or do something a few people will be able to participate in, on short notice.
The latter seemed best. ;)
Keep an eye out for Easter events, and April fools.
