THE DEAD WALK AGAIN AS CAPCOM CONFIRMS DEAD RISINGTM 2
Sequel to 1.5 million-plus seller announced for multiple gaming platforms
London - February 9, 2009 - Capcomr, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead RisingT 2 is in development for three different gaming platforms: the Xbox 360T video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment s PLAYSTATIONr3 (PS3T) and the PC. The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead RisingT, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.
Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.
Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game s Producer will play an active role in the project.
Released in 2006, Dead Rising won praise across the globe for its mix of intense zombie action and dark humour, garnering numerous awards including IGN s "Most Innovative Design for Xbox 360", Gamespot s "Best Action-Adventure Game" for 2006 and "Action Game of the Year" at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Well, the guy doesnt look like a photographer, to be honest, Frank constantly holding his camera put me off a bit.

I guessed hed be the source of the outbreak, seeing as how he was both infected and escaped, however, he may have actually caused the spread of infection without turning in to a zombie, he killed special forces and their leader which could have screwed up the containment operation at least in part.
Loved first Dead Rising so really looking foward too this one aswell.
Took at the debut trailer today also so this was cool news.

Dont worry, Frank will be back, I heard the VA in the trailer and it was new material, and I am sure he will be the other playable character (Easy bet to say there will be online/local CO-OP, and CAPCOM/Blue castle games are going to reveal Frank later.

T.J. Rotolo (Frank West) can be heard in one part, S@$t, its happening again, and thats defiantly him, and its new material. And seeing how huge he is to the fans, much like Dante is to Devil May Cry, I am confident he will return once again.

Even though im a fan of Dead Rising, I didnt really like Frank West as a character, thats not to say I hate him, but im rather neutral with him, and I dont see many fans hailing Frank West...

You should check other forums, and evne Neogaf for examples, on how popular Frank west is to the fans, even I am too :p

Ever since I first played Dead Rising Ive been desperately wanting a sequel. TBH the first one is total cack overall but its only the multitude of tiny and obvious flaws that ruin it, those will obbviously not be a problem in the sequel because everyone who played DR agrees on what was wrong with it. Despite being almost unplayable because of the crap AI, stupid text phone, rubbish save system etc, Dead Rising was surprisingly still fun to play so I reckon the sequel could be the best thing ever!!! Its a shame they wasted the Shopping Mall setting on the first one cos that couldve been so good if the game was done well and with better graphics. But hopefully theyll come up with some equally suitable settings for the new one, a casino sounds like a good start and the screens look superb, hopefully there will be a huge environment and maybe they could fit a little shopping mall in there somewhere. Im definately looking forward to DR2 in a big way :D

Thats at the time Dead Rising 1 was a 360 exclusive but now it is coming to the Wii which is a bit cut down.
Dead Rising 2 is Multiplatform, 360, ps3 and PC

Multiformat is a good thing. It just means that you can share your experiences with more like minded people is all.

about time dead riseing is a good game but not as good as resident evil lets hope the writing is not small like the last one dead riseing 1

Yeah, i'm totally up for some Online Coop, and how about this time around making a Infinite Mode without losing health or having any pressure. Just a plain simple Infinite Mode to mess around and explorer for an example Grand Theft Auto 4: Freemode only in Dead Rising Style everyone on GTA4 was wishing for something like that having 16 players working together in a big town infected with Zombies and you could do whatever you want, but Rock Stars never made it happen, so you guys could be the first ;P. After all your Capcom and your awesome making Games. :spy:
It will be a big laugh for us fans, if Capcom adds one of the characters from Resident Evil (Biohzard) or Street Fighter as playable in DR.
Ryu would be nice, killing zombies with a hadoken. :thumb:

Dead rising 2 is also for PC and PS3, but the first is xbox360 so in the sense capcom expects people to buy a game they havent played (the first) i have never even heard of dead rising but why would i buy the second without the first

PS3 owners don't need to play DR1 to understand DR2 in the same way that you don't need to play SF3 to play SF4 or Resident Evil 4 to enjoy Resident Evil 5.
