Im doing this at another forum, so I dont see why we cant do it here. Heck, some of the biggest fans I know are here. Ill post what Ive posted elsewhere so far.

Resident Evil Remake On Gamecube via Wii
Play Time: 6:09:10 as Jill

I really enjoyed Resident Evil Remake more than I have ever before. Just playing it makes me realise why Im a fan of the series, but it also really makes me miss this old school gameplay. That being said, REmake is my benchmark for how a game should be remade. There were parts where the game really played on your memory of the original (dog corridor is the best and most obvious example of this) and there were parts that were brand new and tied brilliantly into the game both from a story perspective and a gameplay perspective. The way they fleshed out the Neptune encounter was really tense and it did make me anxious while I was playing. Lisa Trevor is still to this day one of the most disturbing creatures in the Resident Evil universe - but I felt a lot more sorry for her this time around (Dont ask me why >_>). My progress was halted considerably with the infamous Hunter Leaps, and I hadnt saved for ages, so I had to start fresh. But still, regardless, I put an extra hour or two in and got past that initial hurdle.

High Points:
Pre-rendered backgrounds still look amazing (as do the graphics)
Lisa Trevors courtyard and cabin
Aqua Ring scenario[/list]
Low Points:
V-JOLT Mixing (Never could get into it.)
Fuel Cache Carrying (Did not prepare for it, so kinda made it harder)
This is the last time Ill ever see Barry properly again =(

(My) Unanswered Questions: Its pretty obvious that with Jills best ending, both Chris and Barry escaped and is canon considering RE3s ending. However, we do not see any of of Rebecca during Jills scenario. Is it truly an unanswered question as to the fate of Rebecca? Have they been sighted anywhere else post RE1?

Next Game: At the moment, Im really looking forward to RE2 arriving so I can play through that, but I might try a side story or even Resident Evil Zero while Im waiting, Im feeling like Ive had almost none of Beccy =P

Remaining Games:
Resident Evil Zero (GCN)
Resident Evil 2 (GCN)

Resident Evil Zero On Gamecube The Wii Wouldnt Run it =(
Play Time: Not Given (wtf?) as primarily Billy

I only played Resident Evil Zero once before this and that was in February 2003, when the game first released. Heck, the game still had the Electronics Boutique sticker on it for $109.95 when it first released here. :lol To be honest, RE Zero left a very foul aftertaste in my mouth when I first played it, but playing through it again, its actually got a lot of features that I really enjoyed. Partner zapping was a nice feature, and it surprisingly wasnt that jarring when characters switched for a disc based game. I was impressed. The fact that you could drop any items and find them in the exact same place no matter where you were at the time was also a very nice feature. The removal of item boxes was not a huge gripe with me, but it certainly made the weapons seem stackable, in that you would have to upgrade from a pistol to a shotgun instead of keeping both. That and the inventory being so small really raised issues for me but also made me realise that this game is the epitome of the SURVIVAL part of the genre. You really felt like you needed to survive.

That being said, the BOWs were awesome in this game. I remember reading that Minami wanted to have a more organic feel for the enemies in this game, and in that regard he succeeded. Some of the designs werent as, say, exciting as other enemies in the series, but the Monkies, Centipedes, Grasshopper things and the Leeches were all good enemies, but the Frogs were just annoying (but I wish they kept them in the series in some form).

The puzzles in RE Zero were also top notch. Some of them were really intense and you felt like you were actually thinking about them, and there was a huge sense of accomplishment when you solved them. I think RE Zero has some of my most favourite puzzles in the series (seriously >_>)

I really liked the idea of the prototype tyrant that Rebecca fights in the game, though I didnt quite feel it was a prototype because it was nearly as deadly. Perhaps if it had some major design flaw (exposed vital organs was in the final, remember >_>) that made it an easier boss just for story reasons and it wouldve felt like more of a prototype. Either way, I liked that we were seeing that even Umbrella made mistakes with their controlled experiments.

High Points:
Billy Coen <3
Animal + Torches Puzzle
Lurkers are quite possibly the coolest enemies better
Visiting RE2 areas in that awesome REmake style
Low Points:
RE2 areas have yet to be made into an awesome remake =(
Leech Zombies really sapped supplies when you didnt want them to
The crate and grate puzzle really stumped me for some reason
Having to haul that fucking hookshot around the place
Leech Hunter is the worst game mode ever

(My) Unanswered Questions / Discussion Starters: Why dont we ever hear of any of Rebeccas exploits in the original Resident Evil? Also, is there any mention of Billy Coen outside of this game?

Next Game: With none of my classic RE games showing up, I think Ill just have to make do with Outbreak until they arrive. Once again, Are there any characters that you should play particular scenarios through with? I remember one of the scenarios was filled with more story material due to some interactions between Yoko and an NPC, or was this happening for every character you play as?

Remaining Games:
Resident Evil 2 (GCN)

Rebecca is noted as being a survivor in a file in RE2. It lists Barry, Chris, Rebecca, Jill and Brad as the survivors of the incident.

I think this was discussed in another topic. generally it is assumed that due to the mansion being quite a hectic place, Rebecca felt it neccessary to keep in the moment rather than reflect on the past. She would have told people about her earlier encounter after the Mansion incident.

Evidence to show this is the Ex-file in the N64 version of RE2 where Rebecca writes a report about the death of Billy Coen.

I also plan on playing the RE games a bit before the release of RE5...but having played them all to death, I may just play bits and pieces, rather than the full set.

Agreed. Ive never understood peoples questioning on this though; stuck in the mansion with monsters abound, there really isnt much Rebecca could have divulged to Chris in the very short time they were together (and alone for that matter, since most of it was eaten up trying to save Bravo team lives). I like to say, Rebecca doesnt mention it because even she realises that game was so damn bad :d

The canon ending to RE is an amalgamation of Chris and Jills best endings.

It still confuses me that Capcom didnt bother to work this out for the REmake.

It would have been quite simple to stick Rebecca in the cell with Chris...or Barry in the cell with Jill.

*sighs*

I have this strange desire to get in to REmake and CODE: Veronica X again but dont see the time to do so occurring. Not with FIFAs new patch arriving today or tomorrow and with me being so used to RE5s demo (as well as playing it a lot).

Ill see what happens next week though as I have a week off.

Heh, Same.

Im all for a bit of late night RE2, but staring down the barrel of 12+ games puts me off, its not really fun being sat down and told to play something (The exception being the First-To-Play event tomorrow.).

I would have joined in with this a few weeks ago, but I only just finished doing this exact thing. Only difference is that I hate Outbreak, so I left that out. I mean, youre timed for christ sake...damn blood meter thing. I also havent played through Outbreak 2, because I cant see it being much better than the 1st. For some reason, I havent gotten round to buying Survivor 4...dont know why.

Otherwise, all completed not long ago.

That blood meter cept you from being a turtle and brought in plenty of excitement. I rarely replay story driven games, so I ll pass. Its not like theres a huge connection between RE5 and old games to get your RE-know-how up to date.

Another game done! =D

Resident Evil 2 On Gamecube The Wii Wouldnt Run it =(
Play Time: Approx 6 Hours as ClaireA/LeonB

Once again, along with RE Zero, I never played Resident Evil 2 excessively. Some hailed it as the best in the series but I really didnt understand. Having played the game again, I have to say that although I really enjoyed it for the story and the gameplay, it was really easy. In fact, out of all the playthroughs so far (REmake, REZero and some Outbreak scenarios) I found this one to be the easiest and shortest.

The dual storyline is really this games high point. Its really nice to realise WHY Claire fights Birkins second mutation in her storyline, as Leon injured him when you played through his B storyline. In that regard though, there were some really big continuity errors in terms of locked doors and such, but I understand for gameplay reasons that they probably had to do that. Regardless though, the system really does make you play through as both characters and experience the storyline as a whole. Its also nice how the scenarios are pretty much the same, except supporting characters are shuffled around. The B scenarios really bring the characters all together though.

Enemy wise, were introduced to the Lickers for the first time, as well as the crocodile and G creatures. I must say that the Lickers have and always will be my favourite creatures from the series, and I am interested to see how *spoiler removed* but well leave that blunder until March =P.

Puzzle wise the game doesnt really deliver. Theres hardly any puzzles and what is there are immensely weak compared to Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero. Still, the game had a nice amount of fetch quests (something I do like in my RE games) such as the Plugs and the Animal Plates.

Resident Evil 2 isnt my least favourite Resident Evil game, but playing through it again made me realise just how easy and approachable it was, moving it up in my own personal ranking for the series. In this regard, I feel like revisiting the other scenarios (LeonA/ClaireB) when I get the time as well. I mean, I did pass LeonB in about 2 hours.

As someone else here said, its amazing that even though Ive played RE2 only twice (the latest being approximately 1998) that I still remember exactly what to do. The game is brilliantly designed, in that regard.

High Points:
Lickers
Adas introduction and story
Short and sweet
Dual storyline and the consequences of one characters actions impacting another
Being chased by Mr. X (Some may say this is precedent as to whats to come!)
Low Points:
No puzzles worth writing home about.
Sherry having to be constantly babysat (Why stop moving if Claire moves ahead? Wouldnt you rather catch up with her than stay by yourself?)
Yet another floatable crate + water level puzzle =P
The oil bridge area really tested my memory (I kept forgetting to raise/lower it!)

(My) Unanswered Questions / Discussion Starters: Is ClaireA/LeonB truly the official storyline for RE2? Just how did Ada remove her shoes and pants in exchange for some high heels and a haircut in UC? :lol And finally, how did Annette Birking sustain so many injuries YET STILL keep popping up? Is it ever fully explained what became of Sherry? (Besides her Epilogue) (Obviously some less serious questions here, but RE2 did wrap everything up quite nicely.)

Next Game: With my copy of Resident Evil 3 still in transit, I will turn to the Outbreak games while I wait. Both the original and File#2 are in my possession now, so I will enjoy playing through them!

Remaining Games:
Resdent Evil 3: Nemesis (GCN)
Resident Evil CODE: Veronica (GCN)
Resident Evil 4 (Wii)

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (Wii)
Resident Evil Dead Aim (PS2)
Resident Evil Survivor (PSX) tentative
Resident Evil Survivor 2 (PS2) tentative

Resident Evil Outbreak (PS2)
Outbreak
Below Freezing Point
The Hive
Hellfire
Decisions, Decisions

Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 (PS2)
Training Ground
Wild Things
Underbelly
Flashback
Desperate Times
End Of The Road

Completed Games:
Resident Evil (GCN)
Resident Evil Zero (GCN)
Resident Evil 2 (GCN)

1. Claire A/Leon B is the official storyline. Capcom said it, Archives says it, and now Gametrailers Retrospective say it.

2. I havent got a clue :P

3. Annette didnt sustain many injuries. She fell into water when she was pushed off of the walkway.

4. Wesker has her.
