I doubt many people would have played the original survival horror game Clock Tower, but it was absolutely brilliant. First released on the Super Famicom, it has never seen the light of day outside of Japan.
Even though it is limited by the capabilities of the platform and therefore is in side-on 2D, it creates a tense atmosphere where you have to escape from a madman wielding a pair of giant scissors!
While the game was not developed nor published by Capcom, they have since acquired the rights to the franchise. If Capcom has the rights to the original game (which many will claim to be the best), I'd love to see it released over here, perhaps on the Wii's Virtual Console?
If not, then I hope Capcom develops more Clock Tower games which can match, if not succeed the quality of the original. I think the franchise has a lot of potential and I hope the userbase will expand.
