View Full Version : House of the Dead: Overkill Review.
And despite the fact that Overkill isnt quite as funny as it thinks it is - and falls a few points short of entering its name on the scoreboard of arcade perfection - you will laugh along with them, and happily blast the cannonade of rotting flesh they fling at you into bloodied chunks again and again, for hour after hour. Because Overkill is that rarest of things, a brilliant light-gun game for the home.

I am planning on buying it next week for sure and the collectors edition as it looks like so much fun.If I see it cheap might have to get myself the hand cannon gun that is being released for the game! :)
The hand cannon is only œ9.47 on Amazon. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-House-Dead-Overkill-Cannon/dp/B001O2S1QS/ref=pd_sim_vg_h__1)

Picking up this baby on Launch Day! I have no expectations at all, just the knowing that Ill be supporting Clay and his studio. =D
Clay worked on this?
Ive never played any of the series before, rail shooters like this aint my thing - but maybe Ill check it out. Though, I hate being lost story wise >_<
If I had a Wii, I would totally buy it, just to support Clays awesome Hand cannon.
But alas, Im saving my money for Street fighter Iv, so if youre reading this Clayonite, know that at least my thoughts were in the right place! <3
Hehe. Cheers, guys.
Obviously it is an on-rails shooter, and theres limited what you can do with it without making it too complex and too different from the original HotD series.
But it is honestly a pretty cool game in a lot of ways. Its funny and really easy to pick up and play [but a fair bit to unlock] so its definitively worth trying.
-A couple of things you should look out for is the awesome front end and unlockables, the bloodsplatter particle effects, the icecream truck and my tiny Way of the Penguin logos on the shotguns and hand cannon.
Ill make sure to post some of my work in Creative this week.
PS: James, youre really lucky to get that box! Its not available here.

Yeah, do you know why it was made an Australian exclusive?
Therell be WOTP stuff on the weapons? Thats so unbelievably cool ^_^
Basically, Segas got a really decent marketing set up; theyve got different PR departments that handle all the different regions to suit their audience the best. [Theres about 8 different regions in total]
This can mean different adverts, launch parties, merchandise and exclusives depending on market, laws and rights. Here in UK there will be a fair bit of advertising, anyway.
-And yeah, I can show some close up renders of the wotp_ graphics soon. :)

The guy behind SEGA over here is a great guy. I wonder if he has anything to do with it.
As for WOTP thats awesome! Been following you guys since you had that little original game available!
My Max at home isnt the same version of the Max at work, so I cant take any new renders of the wotp_ stuff, but I can show you two of them anyway.

-I changed the one with the penguins and the city into an AMS logo when I was told Sega would manufacture the Wii mote shells, but the P Manufacture is on the shotguns.
This really isnt something I put a lot of thought and effort into, mind you. Haha. Its just little quirks I enjoy doing. :)
Theres a couple more renders in Creative if you wanna have a peek.
EDIT:
Just had to add this to the post. Its pretty funny.
