Insert Coin 2009 - this year s brand new arcade game expo - 18-19th July!

Welcome to the best spam thread ever: this is going to be the biggest and greatest gaming event of the year!

It s with great pleasure that I can now officially announce Insert Coin 2009, a dedicated arcade gaming expo taking place over the weekend of July 18th-19th in Northampton, UK.

This is your chance to help re-kindle true social gaming by meeting fellow hobbyists, butting heads in competition, and sampling hundreds of exciting titles new and old from developers such as:

Cave
Psikyo
Raizing
SNK
Capcom

...to name but a few. Its going to be a shmup dream, with some of the latest and greatest titles all on free play:

The show will be all access, featuring dedicated machines, classic cabs and new candy cabinets from Japan. You only pay for your ticket, and after that all games are totally free.
There are a number of competitions being held over the weekend catering to all tastes with plenty of Shmup score tournaments and prizes to win, and a raffle in which two lucky winners will be receiving either an Egret 2 arcade cabinet or a Namco Cyberlead 2 (TBC).

In addition, Insert Coin will feature tech talks around arcade hardware and cabinets from the experts, and PCB s and a number of other wares will be on sale at the various stands around the venue. Save your pennies, you might find a bargain!

We re looking forward to having visitors from all over Europe, and it would be fantastic to see all the members of Capcom EU forum in attendance so we can put names to faces. Its been a long time for me i think its about time I met some of you lot hehe

I used to post here ages ago before the site got redone. I see a few faces from way back Chompman and Ryu Kazama :d
I hope you dont mind me posting this after such a long time but with all these awesome capcom games to play for free (excluding the entry fee) I though it would be right up a lot of your streets

Sounds cool, dunno if I will be able to make it though and it will either be one of those great gaming experiances or it will be one of those days where you end up queing for ages only to get beat by the guy with food stains on his t-shirt :(

This is a problem at ATEI lots of people turned up who were not industry and sat on the cabinets all day. And the arcade ops could not get close enough to look at them let alone try them out to see if they wanted to put them in the arcades.

we have lots of stewards making sure everyone circulates around the cabinets and no one sits on them for too long. Plus if there are cabinets you really really must play there will be tournaments so you can pay for entry and guarantee play that way. We decided not to doi stant knock out tournaments because we want to give people to chance to play them. One of our mission goals is That everyone gets to play everything they want. I am also trying to sort out some competitions for various forums (including this one) for some freebies and free tickets. We are always looking for help/tech guys/arcadeboards and cabinets so maybe it would be worth shooting a message to the rest of our group and maybe you can help out which would mean early entry to help us set up. Some one is going to have to help us test all the cabinets lol :lol:

I-Intial...D....Stage 3!? Really?! Man, been too long since I played that at the arcades. Version 4 isnt anywhere near as cool. Any idea if Version 5 may show an appearance? Looking forward to that.

It sounds pretty interesting. Cant say Ill definitely go but sure is tempted (ID3!).

Were not sure if sega will have in the EU by then. I was in JP last year and I was lucky enough to test it when i was in Akihabara, its not a whole lot difrent from ver 4 but enough to warrent another game. The sega arcade people are being really nice and lending us some cabinets for the event along with segashed. I imagine if its in the EU by then they will send this instead of ID4. ID3 is privatley owend by one of my mates so thats 100% going to be there.

Just had a word with the guy whos sorting tickets and he is saying he is keeping the ticket numbers lower than maximum capacity for the venue so everyone will have a chance to play everything they want. also 1/3 of the tickets for both days have been sold :)

If you need a hotel room ask via the email address on the site. Were building a package so you can get in the teams hotel, get in to the after expo party and also there might be an early opening for people who have arranged to stay in our hotel, and if you book with us it will be a lot cheaper.

Its not hard at all to get to from London by train. All the info is there on the site.
Ive been informed that in the first week just under 1/3 of the tickets have been sold. Also that we have actively decided to keep the attendance low so that there will be minimal waiting time for games.

Ive just had a new list of games handed to me with some new ones which are not even released yet along with some more scrolling beat em ups. Nothing im allowed to say yet. I have a few TBC namley dungeons and dragons Tower and shadow over M, punisher and nights of the round.
