It depends on how easy you want the game to be.
Jill has more item slots, and a lockpick, which makes things a hell of a lot easier.
Chris, however, has more health, which makes him survive longer.
Oh i see thank you,Also is there any difference between playing normal mode on
"Directors Cut" then playing the orignal disc because my original disc is too scratched for PS3 but it will run on PS1 perfect but PS1 is broke,Because i was going to playing normal mode then arrange mode.

As far as I remember, there is very little that is different between the European original, and European Director's Cut.
Arrange Mode just moves some items and enemies about, whilst anything that was added in Director's Cut storyline (extra bits on the FMVs, etc), were actually cut anyway (due to a communication error).
Was there ever a version of the game released in Europe which is uncensored? I think the PC version is, but it's quite hard to find nowadays.
The Nintendo DS version is censored, even in Japan. That said, it does have the 180 degree turn and a whole bunch of extra content which is pretty cool. :)

In all honesty, I'm not entirely sure.
As far as I'm aware, very few places got a completely uncensored version of RE1. Oddly REmake came out in the same areas, and had so much worse in the first 10 minutes than the original Resi ever did...
I loved the old cast roll which played in the original version. It didn't seem right in the REmake when it cuts from the door animation to them stumbling inside.

Lol, yeah, same happened to me back when I first played it.
I was expecting a stylish, new look at the cast of the game...but alas, just straight into the game...
Do you mean the uncut FMV at the start of resident evil where chris is smoking because on some disc's thats not cencored
We were talking about the GameCube remake with the CG cutscenes. Whereas in the PlayStation game you get that awesome cast roll (regardless of whether it's censored or not), the GameCube version doesn't. To be honest, I don't think it would have really worked too well having a cast roll in CG. I actually prefer the live action with the not-so-good acting and everything.
I personally view the remake as a completely different game. They have changed a lot, and while I think it's scarier, it's not as funny. I suppose it's good to have one version which you can play if you need a laugh, and have one if you want a bit of a scare (even though it does get less scary the more times you play it).
Well none of the playstation series scare me there just too bad graphics for me to really get into it but one thing that did scare me was the Tyran on resident evil survivor that walks to ya from the end of the alley now thats scary

Im the exact opposite, im scared as hell when playing classic resident evil, my heart is pumping like crazy. I made a resident evil diary in this resident evil section, look it up if you want to, its almost finished.
The thing that scares me in first 3 resident evils is mainly the ankward controls, you want to aim and sometimes you miss, its so tense! The fact that there are no checkpoints and you are way more limited on ammo and herbs(even on saves)just doubles the fear factor of resident evil.
The last 2 resi games were everything but scary.
I was quite terrified when I first met the first zombie in the first game.
Also, opening the main door and the cerberus coming in was quite surprising (I didn't expect it). Luckily it is right at the beginning of the game so I didn't lose any progress when my character died.

Didnt know about the cerberus part, i recall in my mind a vid of a cerberus barking between the door but i didnt know he can kill you :D
I haven't played the original version in some time, but I'm quite sure that Cerberus can enter. I think that the first time you open the door, cerberus barks at you. If you try and open the door a second time he comes in. That's if I remember correctly, at least.
In the REmake, the cerberus comes in the first time you try and open the door.
you would think for the remake they would even out chris a bit more to make his gameplay less hard

There is an intentional contrast between the two characters, and not just in gameplay terms either, plotwise, Jill has Barry assisting her. I Don't think it would be as fun if both characters where near enough the same.
Chris' scenario may be more difficult, but he's got Rebecca to heal him when he's wounded. So it's not too bad.
What was really annoying was realising that you had no space in your inventory to get any more green herbs. And those damn typewriter ribbons... They did increase the tension though.
Yeah, but you have to keep in mind that Rebecca was mostly in one place, Barry kept "bumping" in to Jill, giving her either ammo or saving her hassle, whereas Rebecca left the room about, 3 maybe 4 times, and only provided health in the medicine room.
I quite miss the dual storylines, RE2 was effectively two games in one because of it, the only unfortunate (that is to say, very unfortunate) flaw in this method of gameplay was inconsistancies and conflicts between the two plots, with the canon being either an algamation or dismissing the other side entirely, shame it was ditched at circa RE3.
Code: Veronica sorta has two scenarios, but one is a continuation of the other.
Well, yeah, I guess that is sorta true, but it wasn't really the same scenario under two different perspectives, just carrying on where the other left off.
