Had over 130 hours of play from FO3 and still not 100% complete.

Can't wait for this.

Same here, and I even made a few radio mods for it. Can't wait for this new one XD

Good spot with the trailer :thumb:, I've been waiting a few months for something on this. Love that game put in about 300 hours on it, at least.

Can't wait, hope its as good as FO3 :D

Would be interesting to see if you are given the option (unlockable or otherwise)to bring your old character into the new game.

"Experience all the sights and sounds of fabulous New Vegas, brought to you by Vault-Tec, America's First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault: Meet new people, confront terrifying creatures, and arm yourself with the latest high-tech weaponry as you make a name for yourself on a thrilling new journey across the Mojave wasteland. A word of warning, however - while Vault-Tec engineers have prepared for every contingency,* in Vegas, fortunes can change in an instant. Enjoy your stay.
* Should not be construed as a legally-binding claim."

Paradise Falls I usually kill everyone in there and take it, my characters alignment is Very Good, I've never taken the Slaver Quest I just kill them all and release the slaves. Look out for the MicroWave Gun in Point Lookout, pretty much the same as the one you've just picked up, penetrates armour.

And by the way this may not be the only FO release to come, Beth. hinted that they may be working on something else FO related ;)

I watched it via the link which Bethesda put up on Twitter.

It looks really cool, and pretty reminiscent of the Fallout 3 opening....just with more lights. :p

I really loved Fallout 3, and put 79 hours into it. I actually had to stop myself from playing, as it was just taking up a silly amount of my time, but I did beat it.

I just kind of ruined the beginning, as I didn't realise you could do it without killing "her" father.

Anyway, I was good all of the way through, and I think I reached the best status as a good guy, possible. The experimental MIRV was awesome, and the game felt even cooler when I had Fawkes running around with me. :p

Funniest moment: Making a save at the top of Rivet City, then punching the old man off of the top with a power fist, and then reloading so I could do it again. Eventually I just made mini games out of it, like see how far I can blow him into the sky......and punch him off the top, then race him down and see who hits the water first. XD

What I did not know that.

hmmmmp goes back to FO3!

You did the same?

I put "her", instead of her real name, in case people haven' played it.

Also, as I played mine on pc, and didn't have games for windows live up before it, I don't even have the beginning achievements, like the pip-boy 3000, or exam one. Doh.

Thats pretty Dark CaptainC, although I did something similar to get the "exploded pants" achievement.

I couldn't bring myself to be a bad person in it, it would ave ment Killing Dave when he caught me breaking his safe for "Ole Painless", what was I supposed to do with his orphan children????? Kill them or keep them alive, which would have been worse for them in a post apoc. violent landscape????

Opps correction I was after his special key for the T51b, I killed him for it and then reloaded and pick-pocketed him instead. StealthBoy Style.

Lol, I didn't use stealthboys for so long, that I had tonnes of them, and went through an entire building (the one with the T-51B Power Armour in), without being seen. XD

I can't remember how I got that, but I think I might have lock picked it.

Anyway, I wasn't a bad character at all. I made the extra saves, so I could do bad things, but then didn't save after them. That way I could still be good in the story, do something bad, and load back onto my good file. :p

I put a nuka grenade in the pocket of that Jones guy. I think that was his name, at least. It was the purple pimp looking suit guy in Paradise Falls.

Eulogy Jones Head Slaver

I never used many S/Boys myself only to get the keys for the T51b, plus the Chinese Stealth Armour served that purpose anyhows, sick looking Armour that :D You needed 3 special keys to access the T51b bunker.

CaptainCortez
04-02-10, 18:33
Yea, I must have done it the same way then....with the stealth boys. Though, I think I killed characters for their keys, if they were bad, or shot at me.

I think my end rank was like saviour of the wasteland....or did it go higher than that? There was Ambassador as well, but either way, I reached the top one.

Really looking forward to New Vegas, and only like playing as a good guy. It's more fun, and you can't accidentally kill people who you need to see for missions. :p

LT_Jones
04-02-10, 18:39
It was a quest called "you gotta shoot them in the head"

Sounds like a level 20 title.

I reached Level 30 Messiah :p You needed the DLC for the xtra 10 levels.

Ambass of peace.

Lost planet would work well or dark void if you had an open planet you cud trek about on, i.e. Shooter come RPG.

CaptainCortez
04-02-10, 19:15
Yea, I didn't buy any of the extra content, as I don't really agree with paying more.

Though saying that, I do buy extra content for games, if I really really feel they'll give more to the storyline. I did it with Prince of Persia, and am going to do it with my Resident Evil 5, when I can.

I don't buy extra map packs or anything like that, though. I don't have money I can waste. In fact, I don't have that much money at all, lol. Really desperately need a job, and I think I'll apply for a few things whilst going through stuff with my dad.

I can make awesome cover letters, so I just hope I get something soon. :D

LT_Jones
04-02-10, 19:19
Well thats makes two of us, I need a job as well. Why else cud I put in over 300 hours gameplay into FO3. It back logged the other games I was playing and had bought, I'm only now just about to finish Lost Planet, on the final boss at the mo.

I had the FO3 game and I bought the 2 add-on packs then I bought the GoTY ed and gave the others to my sister, shes only started playin it, just reached Level 5 today and on her way to see three dog

Personally I was happy to give them my money the game is brilliant and they were kind enuff to release the DLCs on disk. :)

I saw Mothership Zeta and had to have it. I'm a member of the Beth Fallout Community as well as this one, I'm usually over slagging off the RPGers just for the craic (or helpin Newbies with info), tellin them FO is a shooter and Not an RPG, they hate me for it lol, they hate the MZ dlc so much to but I like it lots (the Atomic Pulveriser Rocks), they're all "we hate brainless shooters", RPG forever. So I take the proverbial out of them. They deserve it with their 20 sided dice. lol luckily they didn't start slaggin off survival horror, then the gloves would ave been off for sure lol

"This is Three Dog, OWWWWWWWWW, and you're listening to Galaxy News Radio. The number one station in the Capital Wasteland!"

Lost Planet - I got up to the boss that kills your dad, and then kind of failed immensely, but I can't recall if I began on hard or normal....either way, I run out of all ammo when I'm near doing it, or run out of time/heat......so I haven't done anything since.

I hope Fallout New Vegas has some awesome new songs. :D

LT_Jones
04-02-10, 19:37
It'll have new songs, listen to the teaser trailer, it'll all be 60s Brat Pack Dean Martin tunes etc.

Had a bit of trouble with that Boss your on about, really annoying but got there in the end, I even posted a thread in LP section about it the other night.

After I blasted all the Orb eyes a couple of well placed grenade rounds finished it off in no time, watched sum geezer on you tube for help with it

Correction just killed the final boss :)

Ah yea, I really hate that boss. I think it's on chapter 7 or 9, as I know it's quite far through, but apparently that's only about halfway. O_O

Also, it'd be funny to have The Beach Boys or The Beatles in a Fallout game. XD

I want the Banana splits though!

"One banana, two banana, three banana, four. Five banana, six banana, seven banana, more! Nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah."

Haha, same man :)

Lol, I thought I had to get rid of him, so I didn't accidentally do anything. His bodyguard shot at me, so I went nuts at the bodyguard, and her dad tried to run away, so I made it my soul purpose to chase the bum down, and then stole his clothes!

The best outcome with that girl's father is the least obvious option. It's really odd. I also killed him when i started to play, then read it probably wasn't the best choice so i restarted.

I tend to play with the goal of completing every quest, which does net you some bad karma along the way when you enslave people etc. But, you can easily raise your karma by donating money to the church of atom or by giving water to the thirsty guys that hang around outside megaton/rivet city. So seeing as your butler dude can give you endless clean water if you use the wait function, so it's not too hard to keep good karma high :)

I tend to play as a goody toe shoes character for most of it though (unless i have a bad day and then i reload my save after a spot of evil doing mwuh huh huh huh).

Looking forward to this. Still need to go buy the GotY edition though for the expansions (prefer physical stuff). I must've only put 40 hours into the original game though. I had exams at that point so I tried to finish the main game off as quick as I could. Haven't gone back to it since. Soon though...soon...!

LT Jones: Skim read one of your posts but, you saying FO is a shooter or an RPG? That's kind of one thing I didn't like about FO3. It inolved too much gunplay compared to the original which felt more like an RPG (briefly played 2 but not so much). Still a good game but eh, the original game just had something special going on.

Skimmed indeed lol!

I was saying it was a shooter just to annoy the ardent FO rpg fans because of a disagreement over sum of the DLCs I had with them at the Beth. Forums. It was a arguement over Mothership Zeta DLC and Point Lookout DLC so I started winding them up a bit. They were so up themselves concerning the History and Canon of the game and they were taking it a bit to seriously for my liking and a whole battling debate ensued, Great stuff really!

But upon saying that, I loved the amount of combat in the game itself, I thought it had a healthy mix of RPG and Shooting to satisfy shooter fans and rpg fans. A truly great game! :D

I'm not a PC gamer so I've never played the other FOs :) I loved the amount of weapons exotic and otherwise in FO3. Love using Energy Weapons, like seeing stuff I can't find or use in real life :) And if you want to avoid combat improve your sneak skill and find the Chinese Stealth Armour :)

I've pasted a link over to Beth. Forums for the info on Fallout New Vegas, i.e. whats been released as per a PC Gamer Mag regarding whats in it. :)

http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1074051

Theres been sum speculation as it not really being a sequel as such but more like what Halo ODST was to Halo 3 on another Thread I came across.

:D N-Joy

There may also be an Area 51 to visit as well :)

Ah right, so it's set at the same time as Fallout 3, basically.

Ah well, looks good anyway. :D

I haven't seen any reviews or information about it in the playstation magazines, but the first one came out for PS3, so this is bound to at some point.

I don't see why they wouldn't bring it out for PS3, but it is a different developer CC, they may not lol:D;)

They're still making it at the mo.

Ah, they'd better, else they'll be hated by Sony fans. :p

Nah, Capcom have the right idea - Multi-platform for almost every title pretty much. That's awesome, and Dead Rising 2 would be great on PS3. :D

# There is an optional hardcore mode, the character needs to drink water, ammo has weight, healing isn't instant etc.

Awesome!!

A topless reuve is mentioned as being in (a town called Primm)

O-o seems they're going with a more adult wasteland experience this time.

LT_Jones
06-02-10, 22:39
yeah more adult mmmmm I'm not really up for sex in games or films, otherwise I'd just watch porn, I think sex ruins games and films personally, its not really needed at the end of the day. I'm playing for emersion in the game I don't really want to feel horny while I'm playing a horror game or an action game lol :D:D:D

Is that topless women as well, or something? Maybe Heavy Rain triggered off a trend. :/

Lol, they should just include some awesome costumes, and then I'd be happy. I don't need naked cgi people running loose in front of me. XD
