:( umm I have a problem with the teostra and lunastra the flame sheilds always nearly kills me so i have to retreat so i never
complete the mission so im asking is there any way of eliminating the effect of the flame shield...:s
Poison removes the shield as well as destroying its horn (only possible with a dragon weapon)
Best trick is the use an immusinser and jump in for some damage and jump out to heal so to speak, of course terrain damage negation armour skill is also useful
what decorations should i use and im not sure witch wepon i should use because
Im hr5 but i got nooby wepons, i got flaming pair but it only got 238 attack and 100 dragon attrib
they are duel blades but ive tried to beat these lunastra & teostras but i always fail due to
death or time up...:cry: :cry: :cry:
dual blades arnt the best for teo/luna, not the worst just not ideal, the weapons you wanna be thinking about are the lao shan hammer, azure ogre if your lucky enough to get a lao ruby, or something like the rathian poison katana if you want to try that, my fav weapons for fighting teo are sword and shield and hammer, reson being is that you want to have a lot of manurverability so weapons like great sword and lance are not great,
if you wanna go dual swords tho, get the schizms, small ancient stone > rusty dual swords > blah blah blah > schizms the only hard thing you need is elder dragon blood and wyvern stones
well i got elder dragon blood 4 of em but wyvern stones what i get that of
i know it hr 4 above but what creatures:?: :s
stuff like gravios and silver/gold wyverns give em, but gravios most, and its like 10 elder dragon bloods just so you know for making ancient stones into rusty weapons it is random chance so make sure you have a lot of ancient stones as it helps
for exmple if i have 3 large ancient stones 2 flat and 1 small and i make em in this order
large > iron weapon
large > iron weapon
large > iron weapon
flat > iron weapon
flat > rust weapon
small > iron weapon
this is a possible outcome and as such tells you that the 5th ancient/rust stone will become a rusty weapon, if you restart and do it again the number will be the same so if you do the small ancient stone on the 5th go you will get the rusty dual swords
if you never get a rusty weapon just do a mission as it will reset the number that will become a rusty weapon, it takes a while but schizms really are worth it, second best dual swords in the game

To break the Fire shield Flashbombs do their job aswell, Poison does and breaking their horns will stop that too. For 6* Teo/Nana id prefer a Bow with Dragon Element ( Akamu Bow ), much easier i think.

yea but schizms are like awesome against lao shan so you may want them first anyway
I reckon smolder dragonswords great for all elder dragons
Can smash off horns quite easily, getting rid of flame shield, its powerful with a high dragon attribute (great against Teo/Luna) and best of all you can role out of most attacks. When they do flamethrower, you can cut off tail easily and you can reach their head without getting damaged. Definately my favourite for everything. But not many people agree that LS is a great choice:(
well i get my ancient flat stones and stuff of ash lao i dont know another creature that gives ancient flat stones
or do i need and the poison didnt get rid of its flame shield so i still got owned.:s
small ancient stones are the one you want, and you get them mining in the volcano quite often at hr 5
and i think some teo missions give you poison throwing knives

no it should definantly work for teo as well, i dunno unless he was in rage or something
oh well ive nearly killed lunastra with duel blades so ill get the rust thingy then upgrade em
a bit then use em a couple of levels under schizmsthen own it.:)
just so you know, the rust weapons suck until you upgrade em to their final version, you can use em until their final version

no i dont think it even comes close before it becomes the schizms

It does take a while-theyre quite rare. Do it again, if you use mega pickaxes youll easily get at least one in two tries.
if i recall correctly, the only thing the mega pickaxe had is a lower break rate, correct me if im wrong though.
Also, lotus blades can surpass the schism, though they are great duals, i believe you to be farly overrating them, 20% negative afinity is a great punch in the guts, also, depending on the armor you have, that can be brought out to light more, with my current equip, the lotus are better in almost every case. (the negative point of the lotus is that they actually require rare items from teostra+ which is quite a teaser ^^)
The ultimus H&E are the master dragon element duals and holy... nice raw and decent sharp! (but then again, its a paaaaain to make them...)
The akantor blades are also quite powerful. In this game, RAW power actually counts a lot, i believe the elements were a bit put aside, though they DO make a difference some times.
Back to the point, cutting its tail can also nullify the exploding powder (the so called shield),if i recall correctly..

The great advantage of going for the tail is, the tip of the tail is not covered by the shield, (the tip of the head has a lil space too, but youll just get stomped over.)
About the elemental, the schizm have a great elemental attack, i use kirin a lot and the boost is awesome, but artizan with lotus gives you a better edge in battle, you get white sharp, higher raw and elemental multipliers AND you dont have the -20% afinity, 20% is a lot.
I am not taking away the good points of schizm, its actually the best dragon dual for quite a long time and even in the end certain wyverns/dragons still take a load of damage out of it.
Any akantor is basically good since they have a good deal of critical and a great deal of raw damage, do cry oh people who carry few whetstones (dual users wont have the problem, since duals themselves eat up sharpness like nothing else, by the time you get to akantor youll know better than to not take 20 whetstones with you.).

to be honest though, in the higher monster such as teo and luna, its best to take a load of whetstones whatever weapon you have
Akantor wapons all dominate though!
i dont think i have ever taken less than 20 whetstones on a quest, its not like they take up more space having a higher quantity
though not all akantor weapons are good, gunlance and hunting horn are rubbish

well, i usually dont take as many whetstones when i use gs, ls or hammer, somehow i never end up using more than 5. though yeah.... it is advised to always take 20, im just crazy.

haha i actually do still take 20 whetstones with me even when im using a bow =p
not when im using a HBG or LBG though, i need the space for ammo and combinations xD

LS Id recommend Smolder Dragonsword, no G-Rank materials required but its sick
but youre probably not using LS, no-one likes them these days:(

Long sword made from lao shan materials. Start with bone katana shark i think (forgot, been too long since i last made mine), then it becomes flaming dragonsword -> red dragonsword -> smolder dragonsword
aww :dead: i got fire dragon sword but looks like i need to kill loads of teos i hate teos
why thier alright its just their curving charge and flame shield they are such
