Resident Evil 0 wasnt released until after REmake. By then, they already had the foundations down for REmake and its storyline. Agreed, the lack of info was a tad disappointing but Im simply going to shrug it off as Rebecca being traumatized/shattered from the events of Resident Evil 0 and chose to be quiet about it all.
I just think it would be weird, its well established that Rebecca had a hard time prior to being found by Chris, anything she said in relation to RE Zero would just seem like an advertisement.
Although, it would have been cool if at the time she was asleep, you heard her mumbling something about leeches and Billy.
They start making zero in the year 2000 for the N64.....remake was out 2002.
As was RE Zero.
Chances are, they didnt want to mess with the original idea and concept of Resident Evil, adding stuff from Zero in to the mix would make it complex and pretty much ruin the image of Rebecca being an innocent young woman, shed have to be some kind of leech killing badass by the time the events of Resident Evil, and she had to keep Billys identity secret so she wouldnt actually talk about it to someone whod be more than likely to set out and arrest him.
Well yeah...
But she could tell him, about what els she have see....is like only some days away from zero to remake. (all the stuff she have ben through) :)
Oh well...is not easy to hold a story bulletproof hehe
But it would be a bit suspicious that a rookie managed to do all of it alone without serious injury, with an unconfirmed prisoner on the loose, as well as Chris having bigger problems than hearing what Rebecca has to say about her past experiences.
I think she just kept quiet about everything for Billys sake, she wouldnt have to explain herself to anyone anyway since her team is dead, Wesker abandoned STARS and Brian Irons wants to keep the whole thing quiet for his reputation (he could have killed her too).

The N64 and Gamecube are incomparable. They had to pretty much start from scratch (whilst retaining the same ideas) for the Gamecube incarnation. In the end, Zero came out AFTER REmake.
However, I do realize what youre saying. If they had the REmake in mind at the same time as Zero, why not add in references? Either way, its one of lifes many mysteries that will never be explained. dun dun dunnn.
Dante2014 has pretty much explained the situation in a logical manner already (especially in regards to Billy). Again, using the experience as an excuse for the lack of life in Rebeccas whole persona in the game is somewhat valid. It would have been best for Rebecca to have kept shtum.
True, and you have to take in to account the time it was in the planning, chances are that they didnt imagine that the original concept of Resident Evil could be done on the hardware at the time, so theyd base Zero on the original Resident Evil instead of its remake, they probably had to alter it significantly to fit the canon of REmake instead of the older one as theyd probably have older elements that wouldnt make sense in the REmake, evident from files appearing in Resident Evil 2 N64 that had links to the original concept, these where scrapped because they more than likely became obsolete or the game was scrapped entirely in favour of the RE Zero we know now.

I wouldnt be surprised if Rebecca would have told the surviving S.T.A.R.S about what happened after they had escaped.
In the same way that Enrico Marini and Richard Aiken dont mention the hidden underground Laboratories, they all had more pressing matters at the time.
Rebecca had to find the survivors and also help Alpha Team, Marini had to try and warn about the traitor, and Richard was both trying to protect Rebecca and warn about the giant snake.
It would make more sense to start telling tales of what eachother had seen AFTER they had survived it all.
n64 - gamecube incomparable you say???

Resident evil 1.5 and RE2 are different
Zero N64 - zero GC - look the same to me.... looks like they had the story for it... B4 remake..... from N64 to remake, there are 2 years...
Anyway.... it would just bring a nice thingy to the stroy if they had put a littel zero story to the remake ;)
wikipedia
In contrast to other known Resident Evil prototypes, which have been known to go through massive changes during production(they are talking about RE2) , the story and settings remained mostly unchanged in the released version.

You totally misinterpretted what I meant. Console-wise. New format entirely so bringing up Resident Evil 1.5 to support yourself is fallacious as best.
The ideas remained the same but developing on the Gamecube meant a whole new change of wardrobe in terms of visuals especially and animations. Thus, comparing the N64 version to the Gamecube version in terms of technicalities is invalid.
It really is irrelevant however. The decision to not allow any sort of references in REmake may have been a straight one, but its easy to come with a fan-made reason as to why this wasnt so.
yeah sure visuals and graphic they have to start over.....but not story wise....
my point was: the story they had in mind was the same in 2000 (n64) and the one we know today as Gamecube zero release.
So.... they knew what the story was to zero B4 REmake was out.
Anywho....:)
Again a littel zero in remake would had ben awsom!
But there are missing stuff in real movies too, .- and this is not a big thing when you think that is a video game.....
Im just so in love with the main story ;) THAT i want more!!!
Come on RE 5......b)
But there are missing stuff in real movies too, .- and this is not a big thing when you think that is a video game.....
TBH i dont class the moves except degeneration to be part of the story.
The movies are bad very bad.
I didnt think the movies where terrible, just vague and disappointingly different, but this is also a good thing since they dont soil the plot of the game, id still happily watch them all again.
And since very little known on RE Zero, its hard to tell which elements changed and what was taken, added etc, but you have to take in to account that they more than likely modernised it to fit with the depiction of Rebecca in REmake, in the original she was loud and clumsy, if they kept those aspects of her personality then wed all be shuddering at the mention of RE Zero, at least she has a more professional persona while keeping her image this way.
