For those of you who don't have the time to gather information together from Various sites: Here's a topic that tells you how to unlock your favorite characters, bonusses, and stuff that we discover which isn't on any other major gamesites!
For starters:
To unlock Frank West: Finish the game with 3 different Capcom Characters (The character that you control when the final hit on the final boss is dealt, is the one with whom you finish the game)
To unlock Megaman Zero: Finish the game with 6 different Capcom Characters.
To unlock Tekkaman Blade: Finish the game with 3 different Tatsunoko Characters
To unlock Joe The condor: Finish the game with 6 different Tatsunoko characters.
(These won't work if you finish the game with the previously unlocked characters, E.G Frank West for Zero or Tekkaman Blade for Joe The Condor)
Finally, to unlock Ai-chan/Yatterman 2 , finish the game with all four unlockable characters. (Frank, zero, Blade and Joe The Condor)
Unlocking the "Extra game":
To unlock the "TvC: Ultimate All-shooters" mini-game, you have to press a button (not start) during the ending credits.
This will spawn the Doronjo gang on their tricylce.
You can jump and grab the letters in the credits for extra cash (I think, because it makes the ringing sound of coins) and if you grab all gold letters it will spell out "Thank you for playing". Get this message and the "Extra game" will be unlocked.
The only way I was able to collect all Gold Letters, is by finishing the game with Roll. if you finish the game with her, you'll not only be treated to her own ending credits, but will also be able to play her on the rocketbroom during the credits, which is A LOT easier to not die on, and miss gold letters while you're stunned. ;D

To get Alternate colors for characters, simply finish off the mid-boss (Gold Lightan / PTX) with that character for #3 in the shop, and the final boss for color #4.
