from that trailer it looks like a Shadow Complex if it was made to be a modern genre.

CG video as a game reveal is lame though.

Agreed. Although, I remember the first time I played Ikaruga, I thought I was watching an opening sequence when it was actually the game...

funny, i watched this at IGN, then saw it at Vg chartz and now here on the same day.
This game looks amazing, although there is no gameplay trailer, i can only imagine. :bouncy:
i hope the graphics are the best they can possibly be, as to me it is almost a requirement for a good futuristic shooter.

film style is a bit District 9, which is no bad thing, the rest of it seems to mixed with Iron Man

I really liked seeing it as it surprised me how far game visuals have come to make it look that real! :)

I took some screenshots of the video and put them on my site if you guys want to see:

the song at the beginning is awesome O.O
anyway, i don't really like sci-fi shooters, but hey, i didn't like DMC but i love Bayonetta, so i'll definitely give Vanquish a go, and of course Mikami's hands will make this product divine
the part where the protagoinst is dressed definitely remembers me of "All Is Full Of Love" by Bjork [oh, i adore that song]

isn't that because it was filmed in real life? or are you talking about when they are putting the armour on him? because that of course is computer generated.

Ah, so this is what the PlatinumGames reveal was....

Graphics mixed with reality? Looks awesome! :D

Loving the whole minority report/space sci-fi/mecha war theme of it all. Looks awesome. Let's just hope the gameplay is just as good. ;)

With Shinji Mikami behind it, there's no reason it should turn out to be anything short of awesome.

I still have more love for Kamiya though. <3

Update: Check out the Pop-Block video on Gametrailers.com, as it breaks down everything you can see in the trailer, and gives very useful information.

The crazy graphic mixed with reality parts of Metal Gear Solid 4, were done by a company called LOGAN.

LOGAN are an animation company, who produced the opening credits for Metal Gear Solid 4, and also made the eggs in the break up scenes of MGS4. They were a mix of both graphics and the real thing.

As you can see, it looks like PlatinumGames are using the same technology to make cut-scenes that are both a mix of graphics and reality.

Interesting stuff!

Also, I know that having good graphics doesn't always mean a lot, but this looks absolutely spectacular!

I could be wrong, but in Metal Gear Solid 4, real eggs were filmed, and then blended graphically, giving the almost real look to it. PlatinumGames have used the same studio which did that in MGS4, so it would be so awesome if this was in all of the cut-scenes throughout the game, and possibly even in gameplay parts. It certainly looks as though this is the case.

Either way, it looks amazing!

PlatinumGames - The best people who came from Capcom have formed an elite gaming company, and I am a number one fan. Bayonetta (from what I played up to, before my PS3 died) and Madworld were awesome, and I'll be backing them all of the way. :D

I can't wait to see more of this, and anything else which PlatinumGames will produce.

Amazing stuff! :D

Speaking of Platinum Games, their latest title Infinite Space will be releasing soon on the DS. It's a space-based RPG of sorts (haven't looked too much in to it) and worth a look if you want an RPG from these guys.

Also, there will be more news on Vanquish coming up via OPM:

Thanks Carb, it's good to know that I should be reading a bit about it, next month. :D

As for Infinite Space, unfortunately I don't have enough money to buy a DS, so if I do get it, then it won't be for a good while.
