Ive decided to get myself a WII due to my pretty standard scenarioa, sold my last one because I didnt play it but then missed a lot of titles. Im also getting one for the Virtual Console system which I never got into last time.
I read rumours awhile back that the GC versions of RE were coming to the WII however when I looked for the topic on this I couldnt find it. Could someone confirm for me whether or not the RE titles from the Cube will be coming to the WII?
Cheers.
To my knowledge, only Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles made it to Europe so far, the remake of Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero where both ported to the Wii but are currently Japan only releases.
And they only use the Wii controls rather than adding anything more, so its not really that different to the Gamecube version, so its no great loss in my opinion.

I see. Reason I ask is because Im trying to backtrack the GameCube ports, but if they were on the Virtual Store I wouldnt bother. Cheers for the info.

Nah, no Resident Evil games are on the Virtual Console or WiiWare. You have RE0, REmake, RE2 and RE3 which will play on the Wii with the GC ports, RE4 Wii and Umbrella Chronicles. Like the guy above me said, Biohazard Wii and Biohazard 0 Wii are Japan only releases. Frustrating because I really like the Umbrella-themed Aluminium box. Japan always gets the cool stuff.

Maybe on Wii II?

Resident Evil 5 will more than likely be on Wii, I do tend to stack my games on top of it...

RE Remake and Zero on Wii = Japan only, and the current sitiuation is that it will not be released outside. RE4 Wii and Umbrella Chronicles r the only Wii RE s available outside Japan. But the others said it before, you can buy em on Gamecube and play it on Wii. RE5.... i seriously doubt that there every will be a port to the Wii, the Wii cant handle the graphics etc.

I highly doubt any more RE games will be released on the Wii, except perhaps an Umbrella Chronicles 2, because the whole gameplay is focussed around the Wii remote. The Wii cant handle the graphics RE5 has. The Wii doesnt even have HD capabilities.

I am sure that Capcom have tested some ideas for further Resident Evil games to support for the Wii, allthough I am positive to see another sequel to Umbrella Chronicles easily, with the huge success and fan-base out there wanting for more.

The only way this gen Resident Evil games could be on the Wii again is if the Wii upgrades its hardware, which I dont see it doing. It simply doesnt have the firepower of the other two consoles.

It doesnt have to be about power on pushing the game with the other two machines, not at all. You only have to look at what Resident Evil 4 Wii and Umbrella Chronicles can do on the console, and the quality on these two titles was up-par with games on the other systems. We dont have to worry about its hardware being limited.

But we do. RE4 was a port of a last gen game, and the content/graphics explored in UC were hardly up to current standards. People want good picture, online play and achievements, none of which the Wii has. RE5 on the Wii would be hopeless because barely anyone would co-op. The online on the Wii is nothing compared to Live, or even to PSN.

Its unfortunate but most of whats been said by Alexia is true. Its a hame too.
That being said, I think that Capcom Japan were testing their waters with the ports of the original Gamecube games. Remember how Nintendo announced a new PLAY WITH WII series that was old Gamecube games with new controls? I would not be surprised if we ever saw them brought over to the western regions under this brand, simply to get more people liking the series. Considering projects of this magnitude cost little to nothing to make, there is space for high profits.
And then what do these high profits (possibly made from Japanese sales of BH0 and BHRem) yield? Perhaps a brand new title for Wii.
Capcom definitely havent given up on the Wii yet, and I think well be seeing another RE title soon.
