We've come full circle. Capcom's zombie horror series Dead Rising (http://kotaku.com/tag/deadrising/) is based on George Romero's zombie films. Now, the series is making the leap to live action...........................

Surely they are going to encounter legal issues?

I think he meant with George A Romero, he was pretty ticked off over the game, how's he going to feel when a movie comes out...

I'm not that interested in a movie of the concept, since I doubt they'll actually do it as well as George A Romero, as a game, fun, as a movie, a pale imitation.

depends if it's based on the game or not and which one if it is.

Im hoping that it might be a movie that bridges the gap between Dead Rising 1 and 2, maybe have Frank West and the new dude cameoing in it somewhere.

Frank would be easy to do as they could put him in a news report or something about the original breakout

Ah, got it. Yeh I remember that Romero was pissed, but still, you can't copyright "zombies in a mall", apart from that things were very, very different.

Okay, so we've now got an English language version of the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rG9r4QWY1A).

I gotta say that when I first heard that the film would be dubbed, I was somewhat unsure. However, after seeing the trailer, I'm glad to see that the voice acting is absolutely atrocious. Which, in a weird way, is actually to an advantage.

I do find it unsettling when a Japanese person is referred to by an English name, but I suppose it doesn't matter too much.

Anyway, I'm glad that the film is going to be released outside of Japan... for free, no less! :D

Actually, George A Romero could give a edit spike Language about the game. It was the Production company, MKR group, that sued Capcom. Richard Rubinstein held the rights to Dawn of the Dead and brought the lawsuit against Dead Rising. George said in an interview that he had nothing to do with the law suit. Moreover, I just simply doubt he cares. He had zombies getting hit in the face with Pies in his movie. He even dressed up like Santa Clause and ran threw the set while shooting that scene. That doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would sue a video game company.

It may have some fans to the movie but i doubt i would watch it all the time but it could be an animation like resident evil degeneration.:spam:

Are we talking about the same film? 'Cause if you've watched the trailer, you'd know that Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun is definitely not an animation.

But yeah, after this film is released, I hope Capcom works on the sequel to Degeneration with Rebecca as the lead character, as they hinted at.

I watched Zombrex yesterday.... first 3 parts that r available on xbox..... LOL ? For a few seconds i was goin to ditch capcom and never buy games from em again lol. Its the WORST and CHEAPEST movie i EVER saw, even if i make a zombie movie it would be a million times better.

The story.... 2 brothers get turned away by safehouses then find a warehouse with thugs in it. The thugs get crazy and kill one of the brothers, then search for the other tryin to kill him too. Keiji Infafune said, BEFORE the 1st episode starts, that its a bit scary .... :D Sorry keiji, but u failed so hard.

I'm pretty sure that was part of the point, to be something like the B-moves Inafune used to watch. But yes, at least in the first few parts, it reeks of cheap.
