im now on my worth copy of dark void.

none of them load.

you click on the game to load it and then the screen just goes black and doesnt do any thing.

you cant even get the home screen up to exit out of the game and i have to manually reset thew console.

im now taking the fourth copy back to hmv for a refund.

as some one has made a major -error- and sent out duff disks.

shame i enjoyed the demo

May be worth getting your Ps3 checked as thats what my first ps3 did when the blu-ray drive started to fail.

My copy of Dark void is fine

At first when I had a Blu-ray failure it started with one game then progressed to not playing any.

I would have to agree. You would need to test all of these discs in another PS3 to say it was always the disc. 4 discs down it would seem very likely to be hardware related.

In case anyone else comes up with a similar problem like this, if you have replaced the disc once and get the same issue then you should move on to the next possible cause. Genuine manufacturing faults with discs are extremely rare, most disc read errors are due to dirty/damaged discs or faulty drives (or drives which are starting to show signs of faulting, they tend to not get better on their own!). If you can test the disc in a different console and the disc works then your narrowing it down to hardware with the console.

This is something which is true of any console. The xbox 360 is slightly easier to test if you have a hard drive as you can install the game to the hard drive. If you dont get any disc read errors during installation then your not looking at a data reading fault with the drive or disc but something else.

If have the same problem. My friend bought this game Saturday the 17th of July. I inserted the game in my PlayStation3 and it asked for a patch which I think is 1.01. I accepted it but it went to slow because of my internet and so I tried to start the game again. Than all the strange things happened: My receiver cutted down the connection between my musicstreaming and my signal from PS3 to Receiver to HDTV.
After a while, I was still put up with these problems.
Later the evening, my dad switched the TV to HDMI1 like I tried to do before. For some reason, all the issues where gone except for Dark void not starting up. It loads in my PS3 like the signal says but when it starts up, it cuts down every signal with HDMI input of Video input on my receiver.
When I eject the disc, it flies across the room. My PS3 katapulted it!! So I took my Barrett.50 Cal and I shot the PS3. Now I have the same problem on my Nintendo 64.
Naah, the last one was a joke. xD
When I eject the disc of Dark Void, it resets my PS3. I tried to use 480p except of 720p as resolution, but that hadn't any effect. I only have this problem with Dark Void.
It's still not solved, a few houres later.
I have a 65inch Projector-TV (Not a projector, but an inside projecting system) and a Yamaha receiver all connected with HDMI for my PS3. (HDMI 1.3)

No. It's not my PS3 system because I cleaned it out a week ago and every game except of Dark Void works.

No. I already searched on the internet and there're only a few that have this problem but none managed to solve it.
The link you gave me, was that a Dark Void update?

Have you tried getting the disc replace from the place you bought it?

faulty disc's do make it onto the market every now and again and sounds like yours could be part of a bad batch.

Well. It's a game of my friend as his game does work on his TV but not on mine. Can I go to the shop with him and his disc just to ask about this problem?

This sort of thing unfortunately happens sometimes. Just take it back to the retailer, and they should replace it for you.

At least it's a disc. The save data should still work with a new disc. I once had a copy of Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I got about halfway through when I discovered it was a faulty cartridge. Since the data is saved onto the cartridge itself, you can't restore it easily.
