I think its a Hell to play Resident evil 4 on the Wii unlike the Cube version
even the PC version i think is better playable than the Wii version
How so? Its practically the same, but with more precision aiming oddly enough.

yeah aiming with the Wii-mote is really nasty.
The GC version is by far the best version because of its great controller, though PC version have the best graphics (with the patch).

OMG are u retarted ( sorry lol ) .... How can u not love the Wii controls ? It has the best Aiming System in every RE4 port, its soooo good to aim without a stupid laser, the laser takes ages to move. On Wii u just Press the aiming button and then move ur arm to wherever u want and fire. For me personally the Wii Edition is the best RE4 that exists.

Kids stuiff...
I found the Wii version to be a lot more fluid in terms of gameplay, it certainly felt like it had broken some kind of restriction and allowed me to make shots id miss or be too slow for, I reckon it was perfect for Wii to be honest.

Is there ever going to be an explanation behind this comment?

Im not quite sure either, I dont know if aka Active is referring to the control pad being hard (thus taking more skill) or making a slight at the Wii audience.
The Wii controls are the best for this game, Id say. Whether theyd be as good on any of the other main resis is a different matter.

The Wii Gun is not designed to play RE4 with lol . Just for lightgun shooters , like RE UC.

RE4 Wii is definately the best port of Resident Evil 4. The controls are consistent, easy to use, and quick. Id even go so far as to say RE4 was designed for the Wii, it plays like a dream; in my opinion much easier than the original GC controls. That, and it includes all of the extra content from the PS2 port. I had the GC copy of this game, and it was definately worth the extra ś40 for the Wii port. It completely changed the experience with the game for me.

Except one both look and feels like an absolute fool while playing a supposed to be a horror game. Not to mention the ridiculously big and green target marker on the screen. I coukd probably accept it if i could actually aim into the screen where i am shooting and not trying to aim into the IR-sensor to get it right on the screen. But even then, the game has turned into a complete shooter and the fear factors that once where there is gone.
By the way, isnt the Wii-motes supposed to make you feel a little bit like a fool ? In a good way, of course. Ive seen in almost every Wii commericials the people in it always exaggerates when they are playing. Which makes them look like fools. Just a thought...

Ill admit that annoyed me a little, but this is all asthetics...it doesnt detract from the actual gameplay.

Not true. As with every game on the Wii, you just have to adjust where you aim slightly. Infact, to be perfectly honest, I never really think about where to aim...my body figures it all out for me. It doesnt involve much effort to aim slightly more to the left or right than you normally would.
But even then, the game has turned into a complete shooter and the fear factors that once where there is gone.
Again, nothing to do with gameplay.

Yet, another meaningless RE4 discussion. But just to get the most out of it. Exactly what are you defending here? RE4 or the Wii-mote? Since you are not the biggest fan of RE4 and i am (aka ActiveXre). Well anyway, it is clear that the experience of playing RE4 using the Wii-mote and GC controller is different. And i happen to like the last mentioned one more. I am assuming that you like playing RE4 with the Wii-mote over the Gc controller? Is that right ?
TZM steered the topic towards gameplay rather than the actual game, both the gameplay mechanic and its controls are in question here, not just one of them..
And I dont think TZM was trying to prove anything other than to question your claims, I dont see how claiming to be the biggest fan of RE4 proves as any defense on your part and you should at least backup what you said before rather than changing the subject.

Dante is correct, this topic is purely about the gameplay of RE4 with the Wii-mote, and comparing it to the gameplay on other consoles.
Your previous post was merely aimed at asthetics rather than gameplay, so I was questioning this.
My like for the game is not in question here, I have broadly claimed that Im not a big fan of the game...on any console, I am just trying to get a coherent argument from you.
It all comes down to opinions and mine is that the Wii offers more Fun and gameplay value for me reguardles of what you say.
I am a big Resi fan original style and new style.
Fine you dont like it you have your opinon and may not agree with other who posted here but we all have own own thoughts and opinions.
I never feel like fool when playing on the Wii, you dont need to make big dramtic movements to play games small and subtle movements work just as well. I have been playing games for over 25 years and though the Wii is not my faverate console it is a breath of fresh air and very fun to play which is what gaming is about, isnt it??

Just to get back in to topic,
How so? One only looks and feels like a fool if they make a fool out of themselves.
For me it is all about to get into that right mood and have all the settings in the enviroment around me right when i am playing Resident Evil. Playing with a Wii mote spoils all that. Why? See last argument.
Ill admit that annoyed me a little, but this is all asthetics...it doesnt detract from the actual gameplay.
So it is annoying and ugly then ? It doesnt bother you much maybe. I assume you dont even care if it bothers you or not either because you dont even like RE4 like i do. It bothers me very much. In fact, it bothers me so much that it makes the game unbareable. It makes the game look like a typicall shooter. I remember a time when people where whining about the little life and ammo gauge in the lower right corner. Guess that era is long gone...

It is very true, you simply can NOT aim into the screen like you can with a light gun. For me, that little factor outrules the Wii-mote when playing shooters and games that needs fast and pinpoint aming.. I love the Wii-mote. I have never said that i dislike the Wii-mote. and i most deffinetly know how to use it so i dont need lessons.

I am talking about how the Wii-mote (and a real light gun) changes the overall experience of playing Resident Evil 4. And it is now obvious that it in fact does change the experience since alot of people have come with their counter arguements for the Wii-mote.
Again, you only feel like a fool if you make a fool out of yourself.

I do feel like a fool, but as i said, in a good way of course. By that, i mean that i feel funny and goofy. Lets face it, most Wii games are funny and goofy. Trying to imitate movements, balancing stuff with the mote, shaking it like crazy. yeah thats really fun stuff buti it is hard to not associate with that when i am trying to aim the big and green marker with the Wii mote in RE4. The fact that i can chop enemies with my knife by shaking the mote (or nunchuck?) is a bit not resident evil even for this RE4 fan, sorry.

Because that isnt what the topic is about. The topic is about what we think of the Wii control system for RE4, not whether or not I like the overall game.
Why would you even bother to involve yourself in a discussion to get a coherent argument from me about some game you dont even like ?
Believe it or not, I like the debate that is being held. Even though I dont like RE4 as a RE game, I do like the game as a method of entertainment...I find the Wii version to offer one of the more entertaining methods of playing the game.
That makes me loose the interest in the discussion, you know what i mean ?
No, I dont know what you mean. Im not entering this discussion in an attempt to destroy, Im entering it in an attempt to expand upon it with my own ideas, beliefs and arguments...if you find that to disuade you from continuing in the discussion, this is no fault of mine.

Welcome to a public forum...the internet version of a public debate, where you join together and discuss several subjects over 1 key theme, and have many ideas thrown around at any given time.
The added bonus is that it is permanently written down for you to re-read if you forget something. So generally, yes...it is assumed that you will be able to keep up.
For me it is all about to get into that right mood and have all the settings in the enviroment around me right when i am playing Resident Evil. Playing with a Wii mote spoils all that. Why? See last argument.
I still dont see why playing with a Wiimote is any different to playing with any other type of controller? You aim at the screen retty much only when you are in combat, the rest of the time it is just like playing with any wired controller.
So it is annoying and ugly then ?
Where did you get ugly from? I never said ugly, I said it annoyed me a little. It bugged me that they took the lazer away for a little while, but then got over it.
I assume you dont even care if it bothers you or not either because you dont even like RE4 like i do. It bothers me very much. It makes the game look like a typicall shooter.
You assume wrong. As I have said numerous times on this forum, I still enjoy RE4 as a game, and even accept the storyline, I just dont much care for the combination of the two.
Either way, even if I didnt much care for the game, youd think that maybe id pick up on something that didnt appeal to me asthetically and use that as an argument against the game wouldnt you? But I dont...because it is just a marker on the screen, like that of any shooter.
RE4 is a shooter, not the stereotypical shooter, but it is a shooter.
It is very true, you simply can NOT aim into the screen like you can with a light gun. For me, that little factor outrules the Wii-mote when playing shooters and games that needs fast and pinpoint aming..
The Wii-mote, for me at least, offers very fast and very accurate aiming for me...sure, if you press the wii-mote against the TV and fire, youll miss...but I generally dont play that close.
If you are a good 3+ feet away from the TV, it works fine...and is incredibly accurate. I have never once had to aim my wii-mote at the sensor bar.
I love the Wii-mote. I have never said that i dislike the Wii-mote. and i most deffinetly know how to use it so i dont need lessons.
And I have never said that you hate the Wii-mote. Nor have I said that you need lessons in how to use one.

The Wii-mote makes it easier and faster to aim at the enemies compared to previous versions of the game. he counter arguments against this have been that it is infact easier and quicker to aim by using the GC or PC controller.
Your original point that sparked my particular reply was that the game had turned into a shooter. If the Wii-mote, according to yourself and a few other members, makes it harder to aim...that surely enhances your experience? Since you seem to dislike the idea of RE4 being classified as a shooter...

Easier and quicker is not always the best way to go for me. And surtenly not the most steady.

Since you seem to dislike the idea of RE4 being classified as a shooter.
It is a Shooter, but not as a standalone one. Telling someone that never played RE4 that it is a Shooter would give the wrong impression of the game. I would say that it is a Action Adventure Shooter and twine the genre Horror in somehow. In that way, people wont think it is another Counter Strike game.

First of all, RE4 moved away from its Origins, so its not a Survival Horror Game, but its an Action Adventure.
The type of aiming doesnt matter, u shoot the enemies in every port of the game, by pressing a button and move into the enemies direction. If u dont like the Wii version, its fine, but others dont have to like ur opinion, so dont push it in our face. We dont like ur opinion, so dont try to argue more than neccesary.
Again, ur questioning the Wii and not the controls itself. Why did the Japanese create the Wiimote ? Who cares, its great n people love it, if u dont, we dont care actually. If u think its ugly moving the Wiimote, then what about Fishing ? Is that ugly too when u move the Rod ? Lol, everything has its use, if its a Wiimote or a Rod, it doesnt matter how it looks like to argue about controls.
You said u like the Laser to aim in the game, ok good job and now ? I dont like the slow aiming with the laser sh*t, i prefer the Mote. Easier and quicker controls is not always the best, good for u again then, play the GC version, but dont tell us what we should think, especially dont tell us to share ur opinion if we dont want to.
Thezombiemessia never said how to move the Wiimote to do sh*t, if u didnt get him, ask him in a more normal way n dont get upset by somethin u dont understand.
At the end i want to answer ur last question, yes i do want the RE4 Wii controls on every RE that will be released on Wii, cause it has the best controls.
You dont need to reply to my post since i dont really care what u write now and i doubt u can say anything new. You ve said everything u dont like about it, we read it, some dont share ur opinion, some do. Just stop argueing, if u wanna say somethin Topic related - RE 4 Wii CONTROLS , then tell us, but dont try to convince us, a simple I do like ..... reason why or I dont like ..... reason why is enough.
And to avoid gettin u upset, i am not insulting u, this is not a Flame Post, im just answering ur weird list of replies, which have nothin to do with this topic . Bye.

And i dont see why the Japanese created the Wii-mote in the first place if it does not changes the gameplay.
Believe it or not, the Wii wasnt built for RE4 specifically...they did have a few other games in mind when designing it.
Yah, and i said that it does bug me. My opinion, your opinion. Thats the end of that.
Your opinion is that it bugged you asthetically, because it looks ugly and makes the game look like a traditional shooter.
So I once again ask how that has anything to do with the gameplay? It only effects how you and possibly other people view the game, but it doesnt force you to aim differently or play the game in any different way.
I care.
You care about the combination of an action based gameplay, with the storyline of a RE title. Please, I beg of you, stop quoting me and then giving 2 word responses, because they often make little sense. But either way, whether you care or not isnt in question...you keep bringing up whether or not I like RE4, I respond...and then you use it against me to back your argument up...but it fails, because it still has nothing to do with the overall gameplay effect of having RE4 on the Wii.
More like Action Adventure Shooter with short bursts of Horror. And i liked the Laser, for me it had a huge role in the game.
Note that you do use the word shooter in this response, so you do agree that RE4 is a shooter...sure, it crosses with multiple other Genres...like Dead Space is a mystery sci-fi horror shooter...
Sure sounded like you where trying to give me fre lesons.
Well it wasnt a free lesson in anything, I was merely stating the simplicity of using the Wii mote to back up my argument.
The impressions i got from you (and your buddies) earlier posts where like you where defending the Wii as i was bashing on it.
Im not defending the Wii, nor was Dante...however, you were bashing the Wii and using that as an argument against RE4 on the Wii (see: goofy)
Easier and quicker is not always the best way to go for me. And surtenly not the most steady.
So which version of the game do you prefer then? Because the counter arguments are that the GC and PC versions offer easier and quicker aiming compared to the Wii...
Supporters of the Wii version suggest that it is the opposite.
So, unless you have any other arguments (that focus on the gameplay and controls, not asthetics)?
Never said it makes it harder to aim, did i ? It makes it just nasty and bad. And even if it would make it harder to aim. Why would that enhance my experience ? I hate shooters that has lousy aiming.
So perhaps you could clarify what Nasty and bad means?
I took it to mean that it makes it harder to play the game, thus harder to aim.
The reason why I say you might enjoy it more due to this is because you seem to have this hatred for the game being classified strictly as a shooter...if the controls are as sluggish as claimed, then the horror of RE4 would be enhanced by the inability to aim correctly.
It is a Shooter, but not as a standalone one. Telling someone that never played RE4 that it is a Shooter would give the wrong impression of the game. I would say that it is a Action Adventure Shooter and twine the genre Horror in somehow. In that way, people wont think it is another Counter Strike game.
Read my previous reply about the genre and description.
edit, fun to see that the new gameplay has evolved furthermore. Vote out the classic controllers and send in the Wii-motes in future RE games. Yah ?
If they are released on the Wii, I would assume that I would have to use the Wii mote.
360 and PS3 dont have such a device yet...but if the next games were designed specifically for such controls, then yeah...why not?
Is that what you prefeer ?
I dont really prefer anything...I play with what I am given.
Interesting conversation. I dont know about you guys, but I just couldnt take playing it on GC without feeling like a silly fool; on a purple console, with that damn purple controller with a yellow analogue stick and a big green button?? Yeesh. These are suppose to be horror games after all, not freaking pre-schoolers cart system from Fisher Price.
On the differences, the control methods are basically the same. You still have the analogue control on the left, and on the Wii its just the same as the right analogue stick only you move it around separate from a fixed base.
