Checking steam I see the following:
US: $39.99
UK: £29.99
EU: 39,99€
So US to UK is about the same as the VAT in UK. But from the US to the rest of EU, 28.25 to 39.99 € (EUR). VAT (or MOMS) in Sweden is far below that.
The actual retail price was 399 SEK for me (close to EU 39,99 EUR).
