View Full Version : Win! Biohazard The Darkside Chronicles Collector's package
It's not a misspelling, it is indeed the Japanese collector's edition of Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles and it looks like this
http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/qq244/chiara_capcom/RETDSCJP.jpg
You won't be able to play it unless you own a Japanese Wii but it's quite a nice collectable piece for the true Resident Evil fans :)
So, you really really want it? Tell me why we should give it to you and not to someone else. Say it in words, or as a poem, or in a drawing, or with a song...just make sure you're very convincing. You have until Sunday 28th February (23.59pm GMT, to be precise) to do so.
This competition is open to EU, AU, NZ and SA residents only, who are 18+ years of age.
Only one entry per person. Capcom Europe will pick a winner at their own discretion.
I think you should give it to CaptainCortez, because hes a geuinely nice guy :D and hes got a Wii.

I'm pretty certain you should pick me,
as I rather like what I can see.
I cannot play it on my wii,
but it means more to me than a tree or a key.
For a die hard fan,
you need a plan.
I will have this on wii,
because I'll swap it for a bee!
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles will be mine,
and who knows? You might even see a shrine!
I know that we all want this, and it certainly looks fine,
but read it and weep people. Just get in line!
For this, I'm gonna fight my final bout.
Only then, can I let my darkside out!
-------------------------------------------------------------
Haha, good luck people!
Edit - Nooooooooo, I wasn't first post, as my net's only just come back! At least I got my entry in though.
LTJ - Lol, thanks, but that's not how it works. There are plenty of nice people on here, and there are a lot more deserving people than me.
I only did an entry as it was a chance to put a silly rhyming poem thing in.
Good luck everyone else!
I only have one thing to say really about why I should have it.
Exams suck at university and I want something at the end of it that isnt a degree lol
CaptainCortez he's the one
Biohazard gameplay
he's second to none
He's all about modesty
He's all about fun
Give him the box
cause he's a chum
He can't play it on his Wii
but that doesn't matter
he can sell it on ebay
to put food on his platter
:woohoo:

If you can find it in your heart to pick me or by some miracle I am chosen, thank you in advance. Though there are so many nice people on this site I don't envy your job at having to pick just one of them :p.
I love Resident Evil since it released in `96 and thats the reason why I`ve create a website dedicated to this wonderful game... no, wait... to this piece of videogame-history. What can I say - now its a part of my life... day by day and should I win this sweetness price, it would be honest. :thumb:
CaptainCortez step aside, I'm the one who deserves this awesome prize.:D
I'm the no1 Resi fan, i've got all the games, just ask my nan.
I've been searching far and wide, to have this treasure by my side.
I really, really, need this game, if i don't win, i'll go insane.
So i'll get down on my knee's, and beg you Capcom, pretty, pretty, please.
Ahh, the age rating, what a sad thing :(

BANG!
“Huh..? What?”
He awoke with a start, momentarily forgetting where he was. But it came back to him in flashes.
A plane journey to an eastern land, a taxi to a small harbour, bribing a quiet man with what little money he could spare.
It didn’t make sense though...there was more. What was he forgetting? Why did I come here? What are they trying to hide from me?
I have to think this through, I have to...blood. Why do I have blood on my hands!?
****
5 Hours previously.
He walked through the Neon-lit streets and alleys of the Akihabara district, he’d only been off the plane for a few hours now. He could make neither head no tail of the instructions he’d been given.
Probably would have been a good idea to, I dunno, LEARN Japanese before you came to Japan?
He had to stop thinking like this. He had to stop being so self defeatist.
The lengths you’ll go to.
Yeah, the lengths he’d go to. As soon as one of his contacts had confirmed the latest rumours, he had to do it. The last of his money had gone on this little excursion.
Confirmed? You didn’t wait for it to be confirmed; you’d already made the plans before your contact got through to you. Here he is.
He looked to his right. A small gaming shop, nothing outstanding or amazing on the outside, but he recognised some of the symbols.
He passed through the door, Neon-Green shining on his face, making his reflection in the door seem deathly sick.
The man behind the counter looked up, a moment of shock spread across his features, but was quickly replaced with that cool smile that businessmen always wore.
Money passed between hands, and he was guided out towards the back.
The shopkeeper took him to a back room, filled with gadgets, weaponry, maps.
Everything someone in our profession needs to get the rare things.
There was no need to talk. All the talking had been done, back when he was still in England.
No. The shopkeeper just passed him the map, marking a small Island off the coast of Japan, an Island that had been removed from most maps available to the public.
It’s real.
They smiled to each other. It was time.
****
After talking to the fisherman for several minutes, convincing him of the location of this island...and then convincing him to sail out that way, he was on the boat.
It was dark, and cold, but his mind was focused.
We know the Island is real, but what about the rest? Could the rest really be true?
It has to be true. I have to go here, and I have to get my hands on these items.
The fisherman pointed to the horizon, and there it was. In the distance, yellow lights, red lights, blue lights. It was all starting to look true now.
So, they have joined together...they are protecting themselves against us now. They are hiding everything they have. No more.
The small fishing boat made its way closer to the island, but it was getting rocky...dangerous territory for a boat like this.
****
He was almost to the top. The fisherman was gone now, his boat sailing off into the distance.
He had opted to swim to the islands edge, and climb the cliff face.
He could see the high rise buildings, flashing with their corporate logos, hanging above him.
He lifted himself onto the even ground, and finally he was there.
Just make your way into the buildings, deal with the guards, get the items, and go.
Not far now. Only a few feet to the main entrance...but then the spotlights found him.
Sirens, alarms, shouts.
I will NOT get this close, and have it taken from me.
Grenades flew from his hands, bullets from the Red 9. Explosions, shouts to cover.
Collapse the entrance, block yourself in.
A stupid idea, but the only idea he had.
****
Well, that explains the blood...
“The lengths you’ll go to...”
The voice was not his. It was familiar though, he’d heard it several times before...in his early days, whilst scouting the European branches.
“Tenebra?”
“Yes TZM, I’m here to take you home...again.”
“Not this time Tenebra! I must have them! I must have these items!”
“You’ve done this too many times TZM. We’ve had to move from Island to Island, but not anymore. We’re taking you home, and you’re going to stay there.”
Before he knew it, guards were pointing modified Wii-Zappers at his head.
“So, Nintendo have joined your operations now?”
“They were getting bored of your attempts to enter their premises.”
The guards were adorned with the logos of all his old foes. Capcom, Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, Sony, Bethesda...so many patches.
“We’ve joined forces now TZM. You’re not the only Fanboy we’ve had to hold off over the last few years, but you have certainly been one of the more troublesome.”
He could see a storage room behind her. One of many he knew to exist. Cases filled with the rare items. The Master Sword and Hyrule Shield replicas, the entire set of replica weapons from the Resident Evil series. He could even see the front wheel of the Motorbike, the rest of the body just out of view.
So many items. He had one of the bigger Resi collections out there, but he could never get his hands on the rare items...
“Can’t I just have one thing?”
“No TZM, we have competitions for a reason. We’re taking you home, and you can wait like the rest of them.”
“Fine, ok...but at least let me look at them for a while!”

I'm not worried if I win or not, as I have nowhere to put this on show, and I just wanted to make some kind of rhyming entry that was mildly amusing.
Good luck man, though it's a sad thing that you had to resort to begging. :p

I want to ask you guys something. I have this very cool poem almost done for this competition but im only 17 years old, 5 months till i reach 18.
I know this comp. is only for 18+ but the the prize is a japanese version of a game i cant play, cause i dont own a japanese wii and i never will(and if i bought it later, i´ll certainly be 18), its only a collectors item. Its like saying i cant buy sheva figurine, cause shes from a 18+ rated game.
So i would like to know you opinion guys, do you want/would you allow me to participate in this contest? Please support me :help:

Sorry man, I won't back you with this. The law exists for a reason.
I really wanted to test games for Sony (from home) when I was 17, and because I was 18 a week after the application period, I couldn't do it, and the next opportunity came up three years later.
It's against the law to sell things to people below the certificate on the box, and as you're not 18 yet, sadly, it's illegal for you to have 18 rated games/films etc.
So, just wait until you're 18, and then enter anything that comes up. It gives you something to look forward to. ;)
Sorry man, I won't back you with this. The law exists for a reason.
This law is made by people who never played any videogame and only answer the call of parents who are shocked by the images in the videogame which is played by their kid. Where the player sees storyline, entertaiment and fun, the people who watch someone playing a game uusualy only see the visual side of the game, nothing else.
A movie where they blew up someones head off, there´s blood everywhere and someone says the F word 10 times is rated 15, while in games where there´s also blood, but its only sience fiction and no swearing earns 18(yes, thats resi 5)? Is that normal? No. Does videogame violence look more realistic than movie violence? No.
Im really sick of this. And even when i´ll be 50, i will still think the whole videogame rating is way overrated, because it cut me short of a chance to win a great collectors item for no reason. And when this nonsence arrives in our country, i will be in the first line to defend us gamers.
Thats all from me, Bobafet out.

ABSOLUTELY. i totally agree with this, they are overrated by people who don't know how to even turn on a games console besides a pc. being under 18 myself i am also annoyed at this too, seeing as i have already owned many Resident Evil games before i do not see how this is a problem. i realise it is not capcom's fault.
but what if i have a a document with my parent/guardian's signature and approval? does that make a difference? this is really depressing as i am also missing out on the wii cubee's competition. :(

I'm 21, nearly 22 so I'm old enough to play these games but I totally back the age rating system and there's no way I would allow my kids to play anything underage. I have so many people buy kids games that are too old for them because the kid has "seen it before" or played it round his mates. That doesn't mean you're old enough to deal with the content in the games, you just think you are. I have 6 year olds claiming there's nothing wrong with them playing GTA, but that's because they don't know better and would say that just because they want to play it.
The age ratings are there for a reason. People who argue against them are mainly people who aren't old enough yet and are bitter.
And your comment "i will still think the whole videogame rating is way overrated, because it cut me short of a chance to win a great collectors item for no reason" pretty much backs that.
but what if i have a a document with my parent/guardian's signature and approval? does that make a difference?
There would be no proof it was actually their signature and they prob wouldn't be able to post it in your name. In GAME I can't even accept money from a child now even if the parent stands there and tells me it's ok. I can't legally sell the child the game so the parent has to hand me the money and I have to pass them the game.
The laws are getting stricter to protect people. I personally think I should be allowed to refuse sale to parents if I know they're giving it to their underage kid. Because at the end of the day half the parents haven't got a clue what's in it.
I know many people will not agree with this view but that's my opinion.

This is the problem though. No matter how old you are, you always have easy access on the internet to see these games in action, and as they look so good, you automatically want them, even if you're underage.
A lot of parents don't know what kind of content is actually in these games, and some of them don't even care, as long as it keeps their kids happy.
I can see it from both points of view, but I personally don't agree with selling games to younger people.
Like I said above, the age ratings are there for a reason, and help to keep people safe from adult material. I mean God of War is a fantastic game, but that has so much blood and gore in, that it could effect people even if they don't realise it's doing so.
Boba - Look forward to the future. I know you don't like waiting, but seriously man, it's nice to be able to look forward to doing things.
Anyway, enough of that. Good luck everyone. ;)
I may not be the biggest Resident Evil fan, though I have played and loved almost all the Resident Evil games and gone to many an event but this prize is not just Resident Evil, it combines many things that I love. My love for Japanese and their culture, been planning a trip to japan for this year, I own a Japanese wii so I can play the game, my love for Resident Evil and Capcom, and my love for playing survival horror games with my girlfriend, we played the English version of darkside chronicals in an epic all nighter with loads of energy drinks and absolutly loved the game!
So if I won it would mean loads, and it would get it's full use, it would be displayed with my resident evil collection and would get it's worth in playing to be sure!
I should be the one to win as it is the only chance i will have of winning it x
If only i still had my Wii.
