Question about game updates...

I am taking my 360 to with me on a trip for the weekend and there will not be any internet connection. When I am at home I often get a message that says "this game requires an update before you can play". I assume that if I don't have an internet connection it won't know that there is an update for the game thus I will be able to play without any problems. I just don't want to get stuck with a system thinking it needs an update but doesn't have the ability to do the update.

Is my assumption correct?

Yes your correct. You only get prompted to update when you are connected.

If your not connected you you can just play with out the need of updating.

The updates normally just fix minor bugs which need to be accepted if only online.

Well, if you are connected you can choose to not update, and you will be disconnected from Live...
