View Full Version : Bad luck in the new year
I ran into a bit of bad luck today, as this morning I accidentally did this to my beautiful phone, only had it just over 2 months as well.
http://mydailyphoto.com/data/original/Catmoo/20100115.jpg
It fell on my tiled bathroom floor :(.
It really hasn't helped I've been extremely stressed out with work. Trying to get projects finished and getting ready to jump onto another is happening a week earlier than I expected.
It's annoying as my lovely phone also cost me A LOT of money, and is going to cost a lot to repair as well :(. I really wish it didn't have a glass screen.
I know it's all material things, but I like my tech.
Anyone else ran into bad luck in this new year.
Something was bound to happen as I've been so careful and haven't slipped once in the snow.
Sucks about your phone =[
I'm actually doing really well this year! Much better than usual! *gets hit by a boat*

I have had no luck either way yet. Here's hoping it's all good though. Sorry to hear about your phone. I hate to be the one that says it but be careful bad things happen in three's.
You're gonna hate me, Cat, but I'm still going to say it - broken phone vs broken leg... :chin:
Cheer up, Cat Pie, a lot of money but money that will slowly com back in your hands for a replacement :)
That really sucks, Cat >____<
I know all too well about losing expensive gadgets~ Hope it'll sort out alright.
Shame about ur phone, love tech myself I'd be gutted if that was my 360 that was broken. But the year so far has been pretty good. Bit o' bad luck but mostly good. Sorry :(
I did break my 360 controller a couple of months ago but I wasn't fussed, I just barrowed my mates until I cud pick one up at the weekend. Plus DHL did break lots of my stuff when I moved home before Christmas, wasn't really fussed about that either, but tech is tech! and second hand controllers don't cost an arm and a leg from Cash Converters lol. But not that phone I'm sure :(
You're gonna hate me, Cat, but I'm still going to say it - broken phone vs broken leg... :chin:
I think I'd rather have the broken leg. :P
Well, only if that was my phone. Mine's getting a bit dated...

Ouch! Poor phone! As a rule technology and bathrooms don't mix well. Years ago when i was very hungover i bent over to lift the lid on my toilet whilst forgetting my mobile was in the top pocket of my fleece, *plop* :bash:
Check to see if your bank account gives gadget insurance as part of the deal, many do.
I've only had good luck so far this year, i won an ipod touch this week :)
Still, maybe if you get all of your bad luck out of the way at the start of the year then you'll have nothing but happy times for the rest of 2010.

That poor screen looks like it had quite a fall!I feel for you Cat and hope you can get it fixed without having to spend a lot on repairds.
I am not sure about bad luck but my poor pc has been crashing and getting worse since Christmas holiday. It started off crashing after restarting without me doing anything. The annoying part is I bought an external HD and it won't find the drivers to enable it, even though I have 2.0 USB controller, so can't back up my files to do a clean OS install.
I also seem to be coming to the end of the rather enjoyable trip I been doing the last 2 months. I feel lucky though to have experienced it all during my time there.

Sorry about that Cat! That's really poo. :(
I'd hate for my phone to break. Instead, I did my leg in last year, so that made up for everything I've been careful with. Haha, the only thing I wasn't careful with, was my own body.
That's for me, it's not been a very good start to the year for my family.
Mum has been ill through most of this month (all better now though), and I got started on in the early hours of new years day, as I was out at a club where I've had no trouble before, yet some chav pulled my scarf off, and shoved me backwards when I was too drunk to stand anyway. Yet, amazingly I don't recall falling over, and all I remember is seeing this chav say/shout something to me, but couldn't hear what he was saying, as I was standing next to a speaker. I just saw his lips moving, and thought what's this joker saying? Then I recall grabbing forwards, and my scarf was magically back around my neck again, and I was with my friends again haha.
I saw him later in the night, but maybe he got kicked out, as he was outside. Anyway, I got home and didn't have a scratch on me, so I really don't know what happened. I'd have lost with how drunk I was, and I don't really care for fighting, but would if I need to.
Then, the other day my PS3 died, so I picked up my shaver, got through half of the shave, and that died....and then I looked at the time on my phone, and that died. It's all in a days work! Haha.
So hopefully my bad luck will stop now, as it comes in three's, and I haven't ever smashed any mirrors in my life. :p
:( Sorry about that Cat, luckly I haven't had any major problem *yet*
Apart from battery problem in my car :(
Look at it this way, it could be worse guys you could have been in Haiti.
Only good luck so far. My new years resolution is to be more lucky. I hope to win the lottery at some point.
My cooker has just been condemned:hijacked::bash:
Of to buy a new one later
AAAGGGHHH! Can I help? Or have you chosen already?

I'm ill today, but not as bad as yesterday, where I missed my roast dinner, and threw up 7 times. I slept most of the day, too. Great fun!
The bad luck continues. :(
It seems endless for me, well apart from being given opportunities to attend all sorts of events with capcom, win things, and talk to a great community and admin. That's the good luck in my life!:p
Hey thanks everyone, I realise it could have been something a lot worse, just I've paid out so much money now for that phone it got me a little down.
Had an eye test yesterday, gonna need glasses too now, which is cool, cos hopefully I'll find some that I look awesome in. However something else i have to spend money on. I'm shortsighted it seems, and it be honest, it's only since I started working with computers and a extremely daily basis, I've had to read from my monitor more than I usually would.
Happy to say though nothing else majorly bad has happened (yet :P) although I will hate it if it snows again tomorrow like it's currently scheduled too.
Sorry to hear about everyone elses misfortunes too, and happy to hear about all the lucky people of the year :)
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Brown paper packages tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes;
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;
Silver-white winters that melt into springs;
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
I've paid out so much money now for that phone it got me a little down.
It's just money, you can easily buy a new one. I would rather break my phone than my leg, you can't trade money for health :)
i got hit with a stick on new years :( :whackangry:

True although I have spent about four months rent on my phone now... my rent is cheap in comparison to most people I know, but it's a lot of money ¬__¬
It's cool though, HTC now have my phone and hopefully I'll get a quote soon.
Although it has started snowing, so my means of public transport to get home better not all be cancelled, making me stuck at work for the night >.<
See, you're lucky!! Nobody can get cheap rent (apart from you, obviously) :p
:therethere:
Mine started great but right on the next day it became bad like falling off a hill
Well, I guess I've finally caught up with the bad luck. Woke up Saturday to stand on a buch of broken glass after Donna broke a mirror and din't clean it all up. Then noticed that there's a hairline crack in the 32" LCD, which must have happened as the mirror fell.
It's not terrible, it looks like there's a 4cm or so hair stuck on the TV on certain backgrounds.
But I was pretty mad for a while there.

That's 7 years bad luck there! Quick, let me sell you this lucky heather to restore the balance.
I think you know where that comes from, right? Apparantly if a maid broke an expensive mirror back in the day, it was the equivilent of 7 years wages!
But anyway, it was Donna, not me :)

Yeah, but unlucky people sometimes have things happen to them that also affects those nearby! Say she gets a sneezing fit that lasts for 7 weeks, your flat will be covered in bogies. Not nice.
I do whatever I can to keep unlucky people away from me. For instance, when I interview candidates for vacancies I take the pile of CVs and throw half of them in the bin. This way I avoid employing unlucky people :D

As if i'd post the company name when i post on here all day long :p
Yeah, it happens a lot. When ever you post a vacancy you get about 10 recruitment agencies bombarding you with CVs (most of which are completely unsuitable) so you have to cut the numbers down or it gets in the way of all the other work you have to do.
Must recruitment agents are terrible liars too. All they do is rip CVs off monster and then send them to you saying "this candidate is exclusive to us" etc. and then wish to charge you 25% of the starting salary as a finders fee, and then phone you ten times a day to ask you why the latest candidate was unsuitable. I get a bit sweary with most of them.
Recruitment consultants are among the most dense people I've ever met.

Ah, I really need this thread right now. :(
I've had an absolutely great day, and it's just ended really really badly.
Do you ever feel sick, or feel like you want to cry? Well, I feel both of those emotions, but can't ever cry, even when I want to.
So, my Playstation got sorted out today.....after my dad rang up, which is very poor service, as I hadn't heard anything since I sent it off.
Anyways, it's unrepairable and they're sending me a £342 money voucher to get a new one. The bad news? There's no sign of my Bayonetta, so somebody has stolen that, and one of my psp memory cards is possibly still in it, so I was like fine, I have to buy another bayonetta.
If they told me this, instead of my dad having to ring up today, then I could have got it in the play.com sale yesterday for £17.99, so if I want it now, I have to pay £24. Forget that. I now have an empty case.
Then, just as I was getting my house keys out just now, my phone flew straight out of my pocket (Yep, that's my brand new Sony Ericsson Satio, with a 12.1 megapixel camera), and went straight on the tarmac road, and now has two pretty big chunks missing from it, and a bent screen.
The phone still seems to work fine (considering it's a touchscreen), but the damage has just upset me. I want to scream, cry, break things and possibly vent off a nuclear explosion of anger, but no, I'm just typing this up, going to have a sulk, and then go to bed.
Not much I can do. What a pain in the behind. :(
Ouch. Man, I'm sorry for you. I'll see if I can find Bayonetta any cheaper for you, I think it's the only thing I can really do :(
*edit* unfortunately, £24 is pretty much as good as it gets. Oh dear

18-02-10, 08:21
They are sending you a £342 money voucher? Sounds like a result to me considering you can get a brand new PS3 for £250. Or is that not the case? Means you could probably get Bayonetta with that?

Nah, Nik you call those dudes back and tell them that it was their responsibility to look after anything that came with the PS3. It is not your fault that the disk could not come out as the PS3 developed a fault. The PSP card is harder to argue with as it was up to you to check better but lady Bayonetta needs revenge.
Did you send the PS3 through signed for/recorded delivery as someone would have to sign it.
I once had a router go missing with BT and I totally made them get me another 1 free, as it was not even my signature on the Royal Mail delivery system.
"Waves flag for lady Bayonetta missing disk justice"
See if you got warranty for the phone mate as it seems you only got it recently. :)
The thing is, how does he prove there was a game there in the first place, or what the game was. They might give you the benefit of the doubt, as I suspect it's a very common occurence.
And secondly, I worked for 5 years in customer service for a telecoms company; while you can return a phone for any reason after 14 days, accidental damage is not covered under insurance certainly.
How long have you had the phone Cortez?
I would think that the voucher is enough to cover a replacement and the game?
draconacticus
18-02-10, 09:05
Yeah, that voucher should more than take care of it. My PS3 slim bundle was £285 IIRC. That means you'll get PS3, new game + £57 left over. Should take care of bayonetta and give you change left over for fish, chips & mushy peas.
Let's hope so... there's the possibility that it's a voucher for a PS3 "up to £x".
That said, you could probably go for an expensive bundle.
charmed699
18-02-10, 09:16
Depends on what shop the voucher is for as some still charge some insane prices for consoles. Go crazy and treat yourself to Yo!Sushi/Wagamamas/"insert name here" with left over money. Then again wouldn't it mean any leftover money has to be used in that store?
Anyways, I hope that you get the voucher soon Nik so you can have a PS3 and be all chirpy again. :)

Nah, my friend. I'm glad they're giving me £342 (even though it was meant to be a cash equivalent to what I originally paid for the console, which was £425 on release), so I think I had £63 worth of use from my old one.
I'm just trying to accept that they lost/stole Bayonetta, and getting my head around re-buying one.
The thing is, how does he prove there was a game there in the first place, or what the game was. They might give you the benefit of the doubt, as I suspect it's a very common occurence.

How long have you had the phone Cortez?
I attached tags to the PS3, the box.....and wrote on the piece of paper that the game was in there, so there's no excuse for them losing it.
That's for the phone, I've had it since around November.
It still seems to work fine, but just has an annoying reflective bump at the top of the plastic now, where the side was smashed in on it. The screen is still fine though, and thankfully isn't as bad as poor Cat's was.
I would think that the voucher is enough to cover a replacement and the game?
Not entirely, as a main reason I got a PS3 was for backwards compatability. Now I'll have to buy a console which doesn't have that, as well as having less USB ports, and no psp memory card insertion points.
So I'm really appreciative that I'm getting a new console, but it feels like I'm getting half a console, and the PS3 slim is disgustingly ugly.
Yeah, that voucher should more than take care of it. My PS3 slim bundle was £285 IIRC. That means you'll get PS3, new game + £57 left over. Should take care of bayonetta and give you change left over for fish, chips & mushy peas.
It should do, but after paying £425 for the console originally (plus the games on top of it, over the years), they're giving me £342, and out of that, because they lost my game, I have to spend £20 of that on re-buying the game, instead of being able to get new games for my troubles.
See, if they didn't lose it, then I wouldn't have to re-buy it. That's the way I see it.
Anyways, the console bundle I'm going to try and go with will be the PS3 slim, with a 250gb hard drive, bundled with Bioshock 2 and Uncharted 2.
I'm not even bothered about Bioshock 2, and I already have Uncharted 2, so I'm going to try and swap Uncharted 2 for Bayonetta. If they say they can't because it's on special as part of the PS3 deal only, then I'll open the box in front of them, take it out, and swap it as an unopoened new game for Bayonetta.
I will hopefully be able to get the collectors edition of Final Fantasy XIII, with the money left over (if they give me a cash card, and not one just for a PS3). *fingers crossed*
This is the bundle: http://www.game.co.uk/Consoles/PlayStation-3/Sony-Playstation-3-250Gb-PS3-Slim-with-Uncharted-2-and-BioShock-2/~r346368/
It's £290, but the trouble is, it's the only bundle that comes with a game that I don't already own.
I didn't even want a PS3 slim, as it's such a vile and disgusting thing, which looks to me like a piece of trash.
The only reason I want to get it is because I'm hoping it will be a more reliable console.
I'm still majorly bummed that Sony took out backwards compatability, but hey, what can you do. It's such a pain in the butt.
I just hope they send it to me soon, as two games have been sent out in the post, and I won't be able to play them. At least I got somewhere though, as other people have been a lot less fortunate in comparison.
mushy peas.
Mushy Peas?!!!
How can it not be a good year?!
The being said, when I brought up the argument of wanting a backwards compatible ps3 in some random conversation, Jack (Yes, THAT Jack) had a very interesting counter-statement: "You know a ps2 is like...50 quid, right?"
(It's even less over here)
CaptainCortez
18-02-10, 10:04
Well yea, but there's no point having a household full of consoles, lol. I've played games in the PS2 era, and had a fat PS2 which lasted me for 6 years before it went, so don't intend on buying another.
Having BC on a PS3 was a selling point to me, because it meant that I could play the games on it which I never got around to, when I had my old PS2.
So, I'm really far through Final Fantasy 12, and right at the end of God Hand, yet I can't continue my saves. :(
Maybe I can somehow obtain my saves which are backed up, put them onto my friends korean PS3, send them to a PS2 memory card (with the memory card adaptor), and then play it on somebody elses PS3.
Sounds too much like hard work though, so I probably won't ever bother.

I think Sony should do what Microsoft do, and fix or replace your dead consoles for free, if they're caused by hardware faults.
Sony should, but extended warantees are a rip off.
Do what I do and get them second hand for as cheap as possible :D

GAME's warranties were cheaper previously though. But gamecare isn't too bad. They're generally cheaper than what the excess to pay on house insurance is too.
Enough of me trying to sell stuff.
Really sorry to hear about your phone Nik :(
I finally got mine back on Friday, almost a whole month after it got sent to them. I'm going to complain to hell about them in an email and their 'customer satisfaction survey' they've asked me to fill out.
Firstly I called them after them having the phone for two and a half weeks, claiming they'd sent me an invoice for how much I had to pay. (which is a total lie) As I never recieved an invoice from them.
Then after I'd finally paid them, nothing had happened a week later, they hadn't started repairing it, as they claimed I never paid them the £155.
I've spent so much on calls to them due to it, and what should have taken about 10 days, took way more.
I hope Sony are better for fixing your phone Nik.
Mushy Peas?!!!

Aaaaand its way more enviromentally fiendly too! its like playing a blue ray on a ps3 uses like 200w where as a dedicated blue ray player uses 10-15!
Not that im an eco mentalist or anything but it seems daft to use excess power when you dont need to to me, costs more too, and if you are a hardcore gamer all those hours gaming add up :P
Also ps2 slims are soo small you can pick the thing up and plonk it in a drawer when not using it if you dont want it messing up the beautiful landscape of current gen consoles you have underneath your hdtv.
Only negative is no playstation network so other people cant see what ps2 games u have but thats not really an issue now is it?
Nik really sorry about your phone mate, that would drive me mad too, so you got a £350 voucher? How does that work, i would of thought they would of just sent you a new ps3, it was sonys official repair centre right?
CaptainCortez
18-02-10, 13:20
Nah, it wasn't Sony. When my mum and dad bought my PS3 on launch day, they took out an extended 3 year warranty, as it was only £35.
Anyway, it got sent to the repair place once before, and broke....then a month and a week later, it broke again (which is this time).
The insurance company have dealt with it and are giving me money for it, as apparently they're meant to match the price of what was paid for the console when it was first purchased.
That's how they deal with it I guess, so I'm pretty happy about that, at least.
I won't be buying another PS2, and as far as my phone goes, I won't be doing anything about it, unless it stops working.
The only thing I might invest in, is a small phone sock, to hopefully protect it more.
Thanks though guys.
Cat - That's pretty out of order, with the way they were handling your phone repair. I hope you get somewhere with them.
well its not all bad luck then! you can pick up slims for £230 now so you've made over a hundred quid, you can replace bayonetta and still have enough to buy yourself a fightstick :D or you could get a refurb 360? Game have them for £100 with a 1 yr warranty (can be extended to 3 years for not a massive amount i think) thats where i got mine from after my elite went red light of death.
If you ask me they aren't a rip off.
GAME's warranties were cheaper previously though. But gamecare isn't too bad. They're generally cheaper than what the excess to pay on house insurance is too.
Generally, they are just a way for the retail company to get more money. I've never gotten one, and *touch wood* have never needed one.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_warranty
From Money Saving Expert.com
Sales staff have weekly, monthly or quarterly targets on the amount of warranties they can sell. Reaching this target's often crucial to them, so it gives consumers a real bargaining tool on products they're likely to flog warranties with.
The best bit's you're legally free to change your mind within 45 days of purchasing the warranty, so cancel for a full refund. Comet, Dixons at PC World are especially good for this loophole, with one MoneySaver getting a Sony LCD TV reduced to '750, from '1000 at Comet.
Sorry man. :(

No, unfortunately the stores in here don't have that option, most of them I mean. And I must say that I wasn't expecting it to die right after 2 years and 1 month
I do agree with you, Sony should replace the consoles with YLOD for free, or at least extend its warranty for 3 years (like Microsoft did if I'm not mistaken), the amount of people with this problem is very big (most of my PSN friends had it, or it was the blue-ray drive problem).

Yes MS do offer 3 years for the RROD and now the E74 error also.
I have had a blu-ray drive failure but my ps3 was only a week or so old, I got the YLOD after my main guarantee had run out but i had a 3rd party guarantee which meant a repair or replacement by the 3rd party.
It was replaced with a brand new one with out ps2 playback :( as Sony no longer made those.
I could have paid £160 for a repair or a BWC refurbishment but I was not paying that for a chance to get a 2nd hand refurbished console and not my own.
The YLOD should have 3 years and I also think blu-ray especially on the early models should have had 3 years guarantee as those are the two main problems with the early Ps3's and it's bigger than sony lead you to believe. Granted it's not the scale of the 360 problems.
If the Ps3 had been a good seller with a decent price tag to start with it could have been as bad.
Generally, they are just a way for the retail company to get more money. I've never gotten one, and *touch wood* have never needed one.

Yeah I know I used to work in GAME, you get moaned at if you don't reach a certain percentage of them.
But game are alright with it, I'd never get one from a place like comet as they do it based on price generally.
I've gotten it out on my consoles when I worked at game, just for incase, as I'd rather fork out £15 to cover my DS for two years, (as my house insurance would charge £35) as opposed to have it break and have to buy a new one. Just for peace of mind.
Now I wish somewhere would have offered me an accidental warranty on my phone.
Either way though, extended warranties with accidental damage are a must when parents buy DS's for their little kids (talking 4-8 yr olds) as the amount of parents who would come back with broken DS's asking if they can get it replaced without the extended thingies is collosal.

Yea, mine died before reaching the age of three, so maybe they all have a life expectancy around the same time. You could be lucky, and have it working perfectly fine, though. Some people won't have had any issues.
It just sucks that we've been through it. :(
I know a lot of people who have had their consoles break down, too. It's a shame that the faults are on such a huge scale. It really was kept quiet. It wasn't until after I did a bit of research, that I found out how big the problem actually was.
Anyway, I have some good news!
The company "miraculously" found my Bayonetta, and it got sent back to me. However, they didn't bother paying for postage or anything, so I'd have had to have paid £2.10 to get it back. Luckily, the postman just put it through the door, but he has tried ringing the doorbell, so probably expects money for it.
I'm not going to pay to have my own game sent back to me. That's completely ridiculous!
Anyway, I should be getting a new PS3 on saturday, so Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Ad-hoc party anyone? :p
Hey £2.10 isn't that bad!
I'm worried about my plasma; I spent so long playing MvC2 that when I turned it on the other day, the super bars were burned into the screen!
Hopefully it's not permanant. Also, I got my ass kicked by some guy with Cable and shadowheart. Didn't let me move, he just stood there doing assists and special moves, and supers.

Lol, I'm still going to avoid the Postman, as I already paid £40 for the game, to begin with. ;)
That's for MvC2, some people do that.
I can usually stand up for myself on it, and dish out quite a decent amount of damage to whoever I'm up against, but you have to break through their moves, if they're doing that.

Wow!
My luck was incredibly good to me, today. :D
I just went to the shop with my mum and dad, and spoke to the Assistant Manager, and she said she'd swap the games out for me, no problem at all.
So, I got to the counter, and she swapped Uncharted 2 and AVP for Bioshock 2 and Darksiders, and gave me £3 on my GAME voucher, because Uncharted 2 was worth more than any of those two games.
Then, I said because I'm spending so much, is there any chance that you could give me a pre-owned Silent Hill: Homecoming for free, and she said yep, but then found out they didn't have it in stock.
So instead, I asked about a pre-owned Saboteur, and it was listed up as £27.99. Anyway, she deducted the £27.99 and gave me the third game for free, and I still have £20 leftover on the same card!
Bonus! :D
Also, my saves have restored perfectly fine, it seems. I'm just a little confused as to why the PS3 slim doesn't have an on/off switch, but do you guys leave it plugged in all of the time?
It's a 250GB slim. Woo, I'm happy! Shame about the update, which hasn't reached 1% yet.
Don't cry over :stretcher:, think of a solution in how to get rid of it and get money back :giggle:.
Like:
Sell it on E-bay and have a text saying "perfect phone for students or companies who wants to exeperiment or study".
Beg a famed person for a autograph and sell it on E-bay for a high price.
Sell it as a art - call it "broken dream" on art auction.

Same here (new 250GB slim), no on/off switch, which is quite strange because the environmentalist are always saying that you shouldn't leave you TV in stand by, I'm sure same applies to the PS3. I pull the plug when I'm not going to use it for an hour or so.

I just accidentally pulled the plug when it was getting an update for AVP. So glad it didn't muck up the console.
I meant to take out my external hard-drive plug, but accidentally yanked that one out instead.

Excellent going :D
I'd never have the nerve to ask for a freebie to be thrown in! Maybe I should in the future. :p
Good going Cortez!
I saw my friend on Saturday, and he was with some girls from work. I started out by insulting one of them straight off (unintentionally) and my friend made me apologise. Anyway, I charmed her, and spent the rest of the night talking to her. She added me on facebook, and then I found out that she's an underwear model :/

Haly and Soop - Yea, that's what I thought. :D
It just goes to show really, that you don't know what kind of deal you can get, unless you actually ask.
I figured as it was a big sale, then it would mean a lot to them, so both of us could benefit from it. If ever your consoles break down and you need a replacement, you now know what to do. ;)
I'm loving The Saboteur so far, though.
I absolutely hated Mercenaries, and found it hugely repetitive, yet I like the characters in this, and just find the whole game to be really fun and enjoyable.
I was going to play Bayonetta, but instead, played this all night.
I've lost my PS2 saves (including my God Hand one, when I was right at the end. It was so hard to get to, so that's annoying), but on the whole, everything else is fine. So, I guess it all turned out pretty well. :D
When I got my Wii, the smarmy sales assistant in Game refused to give me anything extra, and the bundle wasn't that great. So I talked my girlfriend out of it, and we went to Gamestation (basically the same company) and got a much better bundle (two games up to £40 of our choice).
If you're spending a lot of money and you'er not getting what you want, never take the first thing you're offered.

This might be a cultural, international difference.... BUT HOW IS THAT A BAD THING? :bouncy:
It's not! I checked out her shots on facebook, and they look pretty good.

Generally GAME don't throw things in or make things cheaper unless they're getting something out of it, so extra accessories or things similar to that.
This is because they're a huge company and don't need the buisness, unlike a independant game shop which would throw things in.
I honestly don't know why they were so nice to Nick, unless he picked up any accessories or gamecare with the PS3.
He probably buys so much stuff from their store that, unbeknownst to him, he probably has a whole team to cater to his every whim.
Cortez; next time you're there, drop a handkerchief and see if one of the staff picks it up for you. If this works, start demanding things like a cup of tea.
