So, now that Gouken is in SF4 do you think his appearance is canon or just a bonus character? Also is the new SF2 canon as well?

His appearence could be Canon or it could not thats down to Tiamat. The Canon is just a fans piece of writing that has been established by linking certain plot lines together from the series and I believe it has been approved by Capcom. When it comes to Street Fighter you could, if you wanted, really just piece your own story together.

Who wouldve thought that SF1 was still canon though, SFA should have replaced it.

Alpha gets overrided by Alpha 2. Need to wait a bit more to find out what the deal is with Gouken. It could be just a gift to us fans or it could be canon related.

Even though SF1 was not a particularly popular game it would have been daft to have excluded the game that started a major franchise. If Alpha was going to be involved Id have still preferred it as a follow-up, but as Kazama stated Warriors Dreams was put aside after the sequel was released. God I miss my PlayStation and the Alpha series with all this talk.

Aye, Ive cleared out everything except for my Xbox 360 with a couple of games though. Kind of had to really since games had too much of a hold over my life.

It was Sean stage. There were Xmas decorations in the background.

EDIT: Im not talking about Third Strike, but the earlier SF3 games.

I forgot about the original SF3 games, man they were cool too. I hate you nostalgia.

have you not played SF3 NG or DI? I think the canon said last time I read it that NG was set in 1998 and TS in 1999.

Yeah I used to have Double Impact, thus me saying cool.

I used to have all of these:

Street Fighter (PSP Capcom Classics Collection Reload.. Mixed... whichever)
Street Fighter Collection (PS)
Street Fighter Collection 2 (PS)
Street Fighter Alpha Warriors Dreams (PS)
Street Fighter Alpha 2 (PS)
Street Fighter Alpha 3 (GBA, PS, DC, PSP)
Street Fighter 3 Double Impact (DC)
Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike (DC)
Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha (PS)
Street Fighter EX2 Plus (PS)
Street Fighter EX3 (PS2)
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology (PS2)
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Remix (GBA)
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (XB )
Hyper Street Fighter 2 Anniversary Edition (PS2)
Street Fighter The Movie (PS1)
Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition (MD)

Plus Vs and spin offs and the only games I still have now are...

Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix
both from XB Live

Street Fighter 4 (Which im gonna get) is the only reason I now miss em.

Still sometimes sacrifices have to be made in life.

Back on Canon, really not sure on when the SF games are set, never looked into it.

All I know is that the canon goes like this:

Street Fighter

SFA2

SFA3

SSF2Turbo HD

SF4

SF3 DI

SF3 TS

Yep sounds about right. Never really heard much on Giant Attack or New Generation being in the Canon story though.

DI overrides NG.

And why isnt SF4 a sequel rather than a prequel? I want to go forward! On a side note Gouken probably taught Ryu some of his TS moves.

Probably to fill in the gap between 2 and 3. But who really knows. BTW this is a link to the Canon:

Yeah Ive read that before. Damn is it long. However they are speculating whether HD remix SF2 is canon or that GBA version.

I like the GBA endings myself but so far the Remix anime ones are a lot more Udon orientated (Though I like em still).

SF2 never was explained was it? Only that Akuma killed Bison and now hes back for SF4.

Also did you know that Gouken was originally killed by Bison in his own dojo before Akuma was designed?

SF2 hasnt been officially explained no, I havent read that guide in ages so Ive forgotten the result. I think maybe it was Guile and Chun-Li that originally took down Bison in the Canon.

I did not hear that on Gouken. I didnt think they even bothered with Gouken being mentioned until Akuma was introduced? Whered that come from?

Its true actually, it was during the days of SF2 where Akuma wasnt created yet. So Bison paid Gouken a visit and killed him.
