Hoodling

I bought RE5 on DVD from a retail store. When I got home I put the DVD in my computer. Windows 7 (64 Bit) launches the autorun setup thing, but it's in Japanese (or whatever chickenscratch that was) and there's no option to choose English. Why is this?
I muddled through somehow and got the game installed (though I have NO IDEA what I was agreeing to in the EULA part). It runs just fine and I could finally choose English language in the RE5 Launcher. I start the game and play for about 5 minutes, and then my monitor turns off. At first I thought maybe my whole computer crashed, but all I had to do was move the mouse and the monitor came back on. Apparently RE5 doesn't inform Windows 7 that it's a game (or something), and the powersaving kicks in after 5 minutes (because I set it to 5 minutes). Now, I can disable the "turn off monitor" and "sleep" settings, but I'd rather not do that. And I don't wanna be arsed with having to disable and reenable the settings everytime I feel like playing RE5! I've never encountered a problem such as this before. What can I do to fix this?
My SLI performance was nonexistent. But, through endless searching on google, I finally found an answer to that problem. I had to manually locate some Config file in my documents folder and change it so that SLI would be turned on. This is the sort of stuff we used to do back in the 90's. CAPCOM doesn't make it easy for you.
The installation process didn't install any shortcuts, other than adding RE5 to the Windows Games index. This is a small inconvenience, but I'd like to think we're past the Windows 95 days already. And WHAT'S WITH THE CAPS CAPCOM? Why do you persist with this annoying trend? I hate caps, especially in my filesystem. It's a tiny little thing, but it's weird and I don't like it. It makes the game feel like it's made for MS-DOS! I don't play with consoles. I only play games on my computer, and it always feels like CAPCOM games for PC is rushed out.
Don't get me wrong, I like CAPCOM and I love the games. These are trivial little things, I am well of aware of that fact, but it's the little things that drives you insane! If it was just one single little thing, I wouldn't even have bothered making a thread about it, but this is a whole lot of little things.
Ok, so I know RE5 wasn't made for Windows 7. But do you really expect me to run Vista or XP these days? I didn't buy RE5 2 years ago. I bought it yesterday. I picked it out of a shelf in the store, all brand spanking new. Other games work in Windows 7, even though they weren't made for it. There's always "compatibility mode", but it impacts performance. And it didn't fix or help any problems with the installation. So I uninstalled it and installed it normally (without compatibility mode).
The game itself looks sweet, and I can't wait to start playing it. All I've done this far is searching for help and running benchmarks. It's enough to make a man consider getting a console. But I won't!
