Ive got to say these new stills from STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI really cheered me up. And not in a wow that WATCHMEN trailer was SO awesome kinda way but in a wow this is going to be so bad, I think Jason Adams should already start working on his Awfully Good column kinda way. I mean its pretty safe to say that we all thought that Kristen Kreuk starring in a STREET FIGHTER movie about Chun-Li was going to be pretty ridiculous, but this has impressed me with just how ridiculous it looks. The film is currently set for a February release but you can check out some wonderful new stills from the film below...

It wouldnt surprise me if the film references other characters...but the chances of them actually appearing is minimal...from what I figure at least.

Ryu and Ken are not in the film, the list of characters present are: Chun-Li, M. Bison, Balrog, Vega, Charlie Nash and Gen.

Why no Ryu and Ken?
There is an answer to that question on the street fighter movie blog website.
"Justin, Ashok and Capcom got together and decided to make it more of an origin story for Chun Li. There are just way too many characters in the Street Fighter universe to cram them all into one film. We want to do each one the justice he/she deserves. So, in short, Ken and Ryu will not be appearing in this film. But, that doesn t mean we wont see our red and white-clad heroes in potential sequels."

Underwhelming, I guess the SFII anime is still the closest that Street Fighter fans are going to get to a decent movie.

Not much reason for Ryu to be there. Hes no hero, he just fights to get better. Kens only there to support Ryu.
Charlie has been the pure hero of the SF games.
