View Full Version : Do not make a snowman
Someone will destroy it -____-
I made one in my lunch hour (working from home) and also cleared the steps up to my house because they get really slippery and Donna hates it when they ice up.
And then someone not only smashed up my snowman, but somehow got all the snow back on the steps too. I give up.

Check these ones out...

My mate John made the Michael-Angelo's David :)
Those are good :) No, I'm just worried about Donna sliding about.
Hey, Check my Facebook D, and the photo of the enormous snow phallus in the church opposite :D

 That's just devious.
Brilliant snow creations there, I didn't get enough snow to make anything decent :(

Was that your handwork? I like the twig work.
Can you film the reaction of the parishoners as they go in for the sunday service for me?
Catmoo posted her snowman in some other thread, that thing was HUEEEEEEEEEEEGE, almost the size of an Xbox.
I consider myself to serious to play in the snow anyrmore, unfortunately. ^_^'
Unfortunately that too was destroyed by the next day. They actually made it in a bush, which was a great idea, that's the twigs you can see.
It was hilarious watching people walk by it though :)

Snow men is serious business!

Were they in shock or awe? Or blushing?
Well some people walked by when I was on my balcony having a cigarette, and the guy was like "that's amazing, we need a photo of that" and the woman looked up at me, and I was like "No, it wasn't me, but it is epic".
Off topic, but I made a jus off the top of my head yesterday using red wine vinegar and butter, and I can't find a recipe anywhere. I doubt I invented it, but I'm well pleased :)

Jus from the top of your head? I think I've seen that on the telly, "Jus for men" isn't it?

I have about 2 inches of snow in my back garden, so maybe I can make something, but I'm ill and shouldn't really go out. :p
So tempting though. I might have to make something soon, but hopefully more snow will drop to make something I have in mind.....capcom related. :p
Competition time? Haha.
:D I'd like to see that! How's your mom dude?
@D, I've been looking up recipes, and everything seems to be more complex - so yeah, it could well be a "jus for men". I think you'd probably like it though, it has a really umami punch, like soy or worchestershire sauce

Yeah, how's your mum doing now Cortez? Back on her feet?
Umami? What's that?
When you can make your own recipes that's when you know you have progressed in the kitchen. My most recent culinary adventures have been realising that dumping a bottle of guiness into the mix makes any casserole much better and that adding a teaspoon of marmite makes for a much richer gravy for beef and chips.

Ah, thanks for asking man!
She's fine, and in bed at the minute. She recovered from the allergic reaction, and now has the flu, thanks to moi! :p
Lol, we're both getting better though, and I went out regardless today, as I needed to do a few things.
You ok man? Nobody suffering bad falls in your family, due to the weather? ;)
Edit: Damn you Iain, quick off the draw with your post! Now I'm adding a thanks to you as well. :p
Hope you enjoy your prize btw. Ten has good taste in prizes, so as it's a surprise (even to me!), enjoy it dude!

Umami is like a savory taste sensation like sweet and sour.
and that adding a teaspoon of marmite makes for a much richer gravy for beef and chips. And ALWAYS put a teaspoon of marmite in a beef lasagna ;) it's more important than tomatoes IMO.
Good to hear Cortez :)

Wow, frying pan > fire. Flu in this weather? Not nice. If you can get to the supermarket this always helps pick me up... put a good 2-4 teaspoons of honey into a saucepan, add the juice of 1 fresh lemon and then grate a 2.5 cm piece of root ginger into it and add a cup full of hot water. Let it simmer for about ten minutes to get the best out of the ginger. Then strain it - you can drink it hot or cold. Honey has amazing antibacterial properties, always seems to make sore throats much better.
No bad falls here yet, though I've been the star of "tap-dancing on ice" a couple of times.
Can't wait to see what the prize is :) suprise-a-prize! Just like Cilla used to say.

Snowmen are a thing of the past. Being a gourmet cook is what counts. XD
I like how drastic the topic has changed direction. It's also funny, as you're the topic creator Soop, so you can take it wherever, as long as it's family friendly. :p
Also yea, thanks a lot. Typical though. Mum recovers from one thing, and then has to have a second week off work due to me accidentally giving her the flu.......probably by kissing my mum goodnight on the cheek.
Lol, yea, I'm 22 and still kiss my mum goodnight! How awesome lmao. At least I'm not ashamed. :p
Iain - It's a surprize! XD
Lol, I don't know how to cook, as mum thinks I'll blow up the kitchen, but hey, gotta learn sooner or later. :p
Cheers lol, that might come in handy for the future. Though, I've just been taking nothing for my flu. I prefer to let my own body deal with it, as for some strange reason, I feel that if I don't take medication, then my body will be stronger later in life, as it learned to deal with all viruses without the help of meds. :p
Might not even make a difference though.
The best thing to learn to cook is a steak. It's not particularly hard, and all you need is some veg that you like or some homemade chips, and it's a meal fit for a king.
Hey, if you ever feel like giving it a try, let us know and we can help! Recipes or whatever.
Might be nice to cook something for your mom while she's laid low, maybe a nice chicken stew?

I can cook chicken tikka masala, and that is all. :p
I learned how to do that, by being around my best mate too much. I get to help out with whatever I please when round his, so it comes in handy. Plus, his mum is pro at making cakes, so she knows when I've been round, as the supply of cakes are halved. :p
Lmao, I eat pretty much anything, but yea I doubt I should cook, as it'd probably cause more worry for her..........even though I have some good faith in myself. Haha!
An today I woke up and there's snow outside :mexwave:
i made 3 snowmen this week...............and jumping back kicked about 20 over. i am a terible person. lol
i haven't made a snowman yet because it's so damn cold out here that it's almost impossible to mold the snow :(
I kind of had trouble with mine too; I had to start on the untouched pristine snow rather than stuff people had walked on. Once you get to a certain mass though, you can roll it wherever you want.

Like a Katamari! XD
That's what my friend Myles and I were doing, when we made ours, haha. It was about 7 foot tall, and had a cone on its head, as a hat. :p
I'll put pics up at some point.
I love those really tall snowmen you see, they're immense. I'm for too lazy to actually bother with snow.
