I have a HP Deskjet 3822 printer, its attached to my laptop using a Parallel printer cable to USB cable.
Im running vista.
I also happen to have lost the disc with the drivers on it, so I had to download the driver.
Ive installed the driver, but nothing is working...
Does anybody have any idea what to do? Or possibly know of a more reliable place to download a driver?
Considering youre running Vista, you might want to google to see if theres more people with your printer having the same issues. Vistas infamous for its driver issues, lately.
Read this (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00808478&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=2093&product=88629).
It could also be a problem of the cable you have, try it on another computer...
this is a silly question , but sometimes it happen ( happened with me )
is the printer connected to electricity ?
out
Try reinstalling the drivers.
Is the printer software compatable with Vista?

It is plugged in and powered on.
Im starting to think that it either isnt compatible with vista (as Urya and Skeksis have pointed out), or there is a problem with the cable (JoaoPT)...
Control Panel > Printers make sure its set as your default printer.
Other than that, Ive heard bad things about parallel to usb cables, in that, they dont seem to work too well.
