I'm currently on Play.com at the moment and despite all the hype surrounding the site (the amount of people ordering off it, its cheap prices/offers and reliability), I still would like some feedback regarding the site and its process.

I don't preorder games but I'm going to make an exception with the Bayonetta First Climax Edition; that and the fact that this collector's edition is only available on Play, from what I know.

So yeah, some thoughts and experiences would be grand, darling.

i've ordered from them since 2005 and the've always been decent. There free delivery is a bit of a pain though as it usually takes 5 working days though im not sure if that applys to pre-orders or not.

My last purchase from them was a bit dissapointing though, my Assasins Creed 2 black edition only came in a plastic parcel bag with no other protection and the box which is one of those flip open window ones was all bashed up. So if your the type to want to keep the box all nice i'd email them first and ask for them to send your item packaged properly preferbly in a proper box (a box in a box if you will :P). I dont know if they will co-operate or not but its worth a go :D

That would be a nightmare if I had to wait 5 days for it to deliver. Hopefully if you preorder, they'll ship it out a few days prior to the actual release day so that I do get it on time.

I'm also contemplating preordering from GAME as well, so I get that awesome Scarborough Fair replica. Play the Limited Edition and keep the regular edition sealed but then flaunt the gun on my mantel piece.

I've ordered a bluetooth headset for my PS3 before xmas, I'm still waiting for stock :sadno:

Heads up on that, JoaoPT. I ordered the same headset from them a while back and it was out of stock for five months straight (no joke!), I ended up canceling and getting it when Amazon dropped the price to around the same ballpark (Play's price was the cheapest by miles during all that time).

Thanks Parjay.

I think I'll order it somewhere else, when I checked game.co.uk had it also out of stock, and amazon too (except one store but the price was too high for me).

I was just checking the current price on Play for it these days and noticed it says "in stock", so you might be in luck.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same headset:

Says 1-2 weeks, losing my hope :(

No worries man, thanks for the info.

I don't want one of inserting the ear because a lot of people complain that after wearing it for 1 hour or so it hurts your ear. So that one was the ideal to me :)

I find their service adequate, the longest it has ever taken to get an item from them was a week, but sometimes it'll claim my order is "Processing" for several days, on cancelling and re-ordering it goes through fine.

They've also snubbed a few pre-orders I've made, they sometimes disappear and are out of stock should I try again.

But despite those two things, I will use them because if processing is done correctly, there is no problems, they are cheap and their free delivery makes all the difference.

Also, Welcome back, Parjay, good to see you again.

I've only recently started using Play for my online shopping, and I've had no problems whatsoever.

My copy of Assassin's Creed 2 Black Edition came in its own box, and was all safe and healthy. It even arrived on the day of release, along with the walkthrough that I'd also pre-ordered.

I got most of my Christmas Gifts from play this year, all arriving a few days after ordered, and all safe and in perfect condition.

When I ordered 1 film that was out of stock, they e-mailed me with info on when they thought it'd be ready, etc.

I've also pre-ordered Bayonetta Climax Edition for the PS3.

It's also nice that they won't take your money until they've sent the item to you.

If you want your game to arrive asap, then Game, Gameplay and Shopto are your best options

Mine was only in a box too. Mine mostly survived, although Ezio's right blade is bent.

Did you contact play.com about the bad wrapping and damaged goods, they'll easily swap it for you and will give you better packaging prob

BTW, anyone has their contact e-mail? I'm trying to ask if there's an estimated date for my headset to be in stock again, but I keep getting redirected to the same help page (with only FAQs), they have a contact phone but it's an UK number :(

Yeah, Gameplay has always been the best for me. That being the cheapest, and is usually next day delivery, when you pay the 1st class £1.

Whenever I go to Game in Cardiff, they are always really expensive for 1st-hand games.

HMV are now becoming a great choice for buying games online as well. I got l4d2 2 days early from them, and its free delivery, and you get free reward points like game, AND you can earn cashback from it online, just like from game and gameplay

mine came perfectly packaged, no dents or anything but I too had a bent blade on Ezio's right hand. I think that may have been a manufacturing issue...or maybe not. It bends back into place pretty easily

Chalk me up for also having a bent blade, i actually think its the way it sits in the box, the figure moves a bit and gets bent against the side, mine bent back reasonably well :P

i always buy games and CDs from Play.com or Zavvi...for the delivery to Italy i have to wait 10-15 days, but everything was always fine with those two online retailers (and i also saved a lot of money, and i'm talking about 15-20€ a game less than the Italian shops)
on Play.com my pre-orders always were good and they dispatched them 2 days before the official release date, so i'm really satisfied with them
anyway, if an item isn't in stock, it could take forever to have it, so i always buy "in stock" things

I won't be using those sites as neither do Bayonetta Infinite Climax Edition.

I'll put through my order during the coming week on Play.com.

Yeah, I wasn't sure whether it was just mine or whether the packaging was badly thought out.

Donna has ordered stuff from them before, but I usually buy second-hand if I can, and I always seem to find Amazon cheaper.
