Ten,

Are we allowed to run our own competitions?
I have a lot of Capcom stuff lying around my flat that I just don't have room for - some very special items for the Capcom fan.

I was wondering if I'm allowed to start my own competition to give these things away - I'm thinking 'best drawing of..' type deal.

What do you think?

A few people have had their own competitions so i would not see any problem with this. But i am sure Ten will post to lo let you know.

I think that it'd be great fun for the community to get involved in creativity competitions more often, such as 'Who can draw/make the best...' ect.
But, I'd really like a second forum member involved in these competitions, to make sure that everything is being run legitimately. Maybe put all of the entries in to a poll and let the community decide on the best. Ah, I don't know, I'm just musing

The problem with polling is that personal preference (ie. popular people) might have higher chances of winning.

I understand your point though - thanks for raising it. I'd be happy for Ten or other Capcom representative to judge?

This is fine by me and I'm happy to play 'judge' or if it's a question I can select a winner @ random.

I also agree you should incorporate as many people from the community as possible so perhaps not solely focused on the ability to be a ‘super ace skillz drawer!’

As a side note you'd be responsible for P&P, insurance etc.

Excellent - thanks Fonix. Yes, obviously, I will deal with the postal issues.
Competition to be announced in the near future ;)

It's a good thing we have people like Fonix now, because I'm as easily bribed by Adult material as Tubemole is by Food. 8)

Edit:
Although, to avoid any confusion, let me emphase that I'm not part of Capcom europe in any other sense then "just" a forum moderator.

Charmed once did a contest to see who could create the best Capcom character, that went down pretty well.

It was describe so no drawing talent was needed :p.

I agree with it not turning into a popularity contest. How about all of the entries have to be submitted to you (or a Moderator) via e-mail, and their creators are kept anonymous? And, the competitions should be about creativity, rather than skills. So everyone can incorporate whatever talents they have!
