gotta go with forza for it's simplicity and accessability.
i love the technical side of Gran turismo (lacking from the poor PSP version) but forza is easy to pick up and play and has an unrivaled sense of realism.

I dont really like either of them as they are far too realistic for thir own good. I prefer something a bit more arcadey, such as Burnout. I'm really looking forward to split second, a game where you can destroy the environment by driving like an escaped mental patient sounds great to me!
The only thing I really liked about Gran Turismo was the Feeder soundtrack that was in the PS2(?) game
Forza motorsport is more realistic, although sometimes curbs are made of butter and brakes are too much strong...
At least, you don't drive on binaries.
Arcade racers are great fun. my favorites being Ridge racer, out run and daytona usa. but i find they are much more fun as multiplayer games (as in daytona) or as short burts of time attack fun (like ridge racer). if you want a game that will keep you going for months then the simulators are what you need. GT3 consumed half my life for about a year and i think Forza three may well do the same!

P.S that was GT3 on PS2. although there was a feeder track on GT4 prologue aswell.
I prefer forza but GT5 when finally released seems to have taken a big step forward which it needed two games ago IMO so I am looking forward to this though i was not a fan of prologue
I don't like the realistic driving of them, pressing the right button in the right moment and if you miss this you loose it's too boring for me. I prefer games in which I can crash and even so have the chance of winning.
I'm also not fond of realistic racers. Mario Kart and Burnout all the way.
More racing games should be like this

Keep saving and get both. Both are great. Only one? Dunno, I would pick GT5 but thats only bc I have a PS3 and not a 360.
