If your a Windows user, from the 15th, a new version of the Games for Windows client will be released, and along with it, Games on Demand for Windows will launch.

Now with it, a LIVE enabled version of Tinker ( A Windows game, the robot one!) will be made available free to download inside the client. I quite liked this game, and it should come with come achievements, so for free its not bad. Other games that will launch include Resi 5, Battlestations: Pacific, Red Faction: Guerrilla and more arcade type titles like World of Goo, which is a great game, and should be on XBLA! These will all be LIVE enabled, so Multiplayer, Achievements etc etc, all with one Gamertag.

Just a heads up for people who use Windows to game, or people who havent checked it out much yet. You'll get a free game, so check it out http://forums.xbox.com/emoticons/emotion-21.gif

*gets out the heart paddles* I WILL YOU TO LIVE!!!!

I just got that free game, it's not that bad actually. Had some issues with the signing in to get my achievements and had to mess about with my firewalls to actually get it to work....but yeah, I got 50g so far

Ah cool. I may give this a look then. I may only have a PS3 (console wise), but I have a gamertag, due to fallout 3 on pc having games for windows live, and so whenever I go on a friends 360, I put my tag on it to get more "cheevmunts" lol.

yeah you have to download the windows thing, then download the game as well, then you have to sign in to your gamertag.....if that all works you can then actually play the game!

cheevmunts FTW! copyright corteZero

What are achievements for? I don't really see the point...

Bragging rights. (Because of PG 13 forums, I will not call it the way I usually do. ;D)

We've had this discussion in another topic, let's try not to turn this topic into an achievement debate as well. <_<'

Yeah, that's cool - I thought at one point you were supposed to buy games with them or something.
But I've just changed my Xbox gametag rather than pay 800 M$ to change my live tag.

Can I still play Windows Games online with a silver xbox live tag?

And how good does your PC need to be to play these game-on-demand games?

Mine's 4 years old, but it's not really set up for gaming anyway. Plus, my TV probably isn't hi-res enough either come to think of it (13xx by 7xx)

I had to have a Gold Xbox Live account to play Halo 2 PC online, but that was a Microsoft game.
Regarding game specs; obviously it varies from game to game, all of the games can be brought in a regular Game store, so I'd reccomend Wikipedia for specs of a specific title. However I think that this service is rubbish and not worth the download (I already had it for Halo 2), there are hardly any games, and I couldn't pick out more than a handful that weren't already on Steam at lower prices!

Can I still play Windows Games online with a silver xbox live tag?Yes, PC gamers are smarter and don't pay to play online.

You can find minimum requirements on the game sheet before you buy it.
