Heres an nice article from a new e-magazine I found on Anderson Silva. Anderson is the current UFC 185lb champion and is widely considered not only the most dangerous man at this weight class but also the best standup technician in the whole of mma. He is well known for using unorthadox spectacular technique to finish his fights. So where does such a man go to impove his game? Simple, he studies and incorporates techniques from his favourite computer game: Street Fighter! And i thought i was the only one :o!

I havent seen him pull off a full blown tatsumaki like zelg gaelesic did a while back but im sure he's more than capable of it!

For anyone who would like to see Anderson in action check out this vid from a couple of years back from the now defunct cage rage promotion just before he entered the UFC. i remember watching this live and its as amazing now now as it was back then.

I learned moves from Tekken, haha, so it is more than possible. :p

Steve Fox, Bryan, Hwoarang and Jin have the main moves I learned. Don't make me Shoryuken you though, Jack!

Lmao, better hope my knee doesn't mess itself up further then!

That down, then upwards elbow move looked ridiculous, but could have knocked that guys teeth out, lol.

yeah anderson is crazy, he knocked a very good fighter out with a jab in his last fight, what i absolutely love is its so clear he's such a laid back cool dude and the fact he has street fighter toys makes me lol and love him even more!

Haha, yea. I'm not into fighting or ring matches really, but I'm not against them either, so sometimes I will get a bit into the fights.

Some are pretty mental actually, but they'll all come out of it with brain damage, or something horrible.

The black guy reminds me a bit of Sagat to be fair. I think his stance is similar, or at least his pose.

MMA is actually pretty safe, at least if you believe the statstics, serious injurys are few and far between at least in the short term anyway, though you get absolutely loads of little nagging injuries, ironically usually training to fight rarther than actually fighting.

yep Andersons primarily a muay thai stylist and while he mostly uses a modified stance he uses the classic mt stance as well so thats why he would remind you of sagat ;)

Ah, awesome. :D

He has no eyepatch or flame hadokens though. :(

I want to see an El Fuerte typed fighter, now! :p

the guy under the mask is actually an olympic calibur freestyle wrestler, didnt help him out against the 6ft 5 350lb cry baby though (sapp famously cried after mirko cro cop cracked his orbital bone with a straight left!).

If you need an El Fuerte fighter, just google "El Santo", the Luchadore on whom he was based. ;D

Kinnikuman is a different wrestling world altogether, but props for knowing it JDK. :-)

hehehe, i used to study Hwoarang's moves when I did Tae Kwon-do at uni. It's a good reference :D

And I learnt to dance from Kickboxer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOIJtS4gbaY

My god, I would have thought a big Gorilla figure like that could have just lifted the japanese guy up, like he was nothing.

He took a fair few lighter hits before he managed to turn it around.

Was funny that the guys mask almost got punched off, so he ignored the punches and tried to put it back on. :p

Mr.Ultimate.

Edit: Drac - Any excuse to post Van Damme up. :p

If you dance like that though, I fear for your life! Haha, I can't dance, but I hope what I do is better than that!

Jar - El Santo sucks. El Fuerte is so much cooler!

But you see how irresistable you can become when you dance like that? He was dancing with two girls at the same time! Two! Count them!

Dancing like Van Damme has made me the lithe sexy lurve machine I am today!

I do MMA 2 months now and kickboxing 3 months(just saying :D)and i have to agree that many injuries are from training rather than the fights.

Cool bobafet whats the name of the gym where you train? i want to start at my local gym but my fitness is pretty poor at the mo so im trying to improve it a little before i go along, the gym has some great fighters affiliated with it, most notably joachim hansen who trains there when he is in the country, the head trainer is also widely considered the best 145lb fighter we have in the country, he's called robbie olivier and he is the ex cage rage 145lb world and british champ (never lost the british championsip, he still held it when cage rage went bust), also they just had a couple of guys on the ultimate fighter reality show. i recognised one of them in our local shopping center, he was decked out in full tapout gear :D and i went and had a chat with him, i think he was gratefull to be recognised and he invited me to come train with them. im really looking foward to it, its going to be great to train again as i havent done martial arts properly since i gave up kyokushin as a teenager.

Uhm, yoseikan budo center, why do you ask? Im 100 percent sure you dont know about it cause i didnt heard about it either 3 months ago.

Btw, tuesday we have, how do i say this in english, lets say a test in which i can achieve my first milestone in kickboxing - i can get a kyu(if you played tekken, you know what that is), to be exact, 5th kyu which means if i manage to get it, i can fight on official tournaments :)

I trained friday(kickbox), saturday(MMA), even today in the morning(my own personal training). Tomorrow i have another training(kickbox) and tuesday is the big day! Even wednesday i have training(MMA) - 6 days straight, im looking forward for some rest.
