FOR SOME STRANGE REASON EVERYTIME I PLAY DMC4 IT BRAKES MY PS3? IV HAD TO GET 2 NEW PS3 BECAUSEBOTH TIMEWS THEY HAVE CRASHED WEN DMC4 IS IN AND BROKE SO I HAD TO TRADE DMC4 INTO GAME :( WEN I REALY LIKE THE GAME BII PLZ REPLY CAN YOU EXPLAIN THIS AND DONT SAY ITS JUST ME BECAUS IT AINT !!ITS THE GAME !! How does the game crash.
Do you let the game fully install?
if the game crashesh then a hard reset will rectify the problem. Hold down the power button till 3 beeps are heard then let the console swicht off. Turn it of and unplug the power suply then reconect and boot back up.
Delete the install DATA and reinstall.
Oh my, where to begin.
First of all, its not a virus, I doubt that Capcom would want to infect the consoles of consumers, especially considering that they are going to buy Capcom products, the only way it could be a virus is if the game is a pirated copy that tampered with the software on the console, even then its extremely slim, as I doubt someone is going to go to the effort of making a virus capable of harming a PS3 since absolutely nothing can be gained from it other than console fanboyism.
I suggest you change the title of this topic, since its fairly dumb to call it a virus when you dont know what it could be.
Its possible that the disc has become extremely damaged and has somehow corrupted the data on the console, causing it not to run properly, probably from scratches or spillages, My PS2 stopped working when I inserted a damaged disc and had to get the console replaced, meaning it isnt so much a problem with Devil May Cry 4 specifically, but rather damage done to the console, if anything you should contact sony at http://uk.playstation.com/ , they will be able to tell you your options depending on your warranty and insurance, and youve not been very specific with the problem your having, does it freeze the console? will it start? does it run other games? Sony is going to need to know all of this plus alot more if they are going to help you either fix or exchange your console.
It wasnt very wise to get rid of both the damaged console and game, firstly because youre now going to have a hard time trying to figure out exactly what caused this mess, and secondly, some poor person is going to buy the faulty copy of Devil May Cry 4 and go through the same thing.
And yes, it is just you, ive had Devil May Cry 4 and a PS3 for nearly 9 months now with no problems whatsoever.

I had the same problem with MGS4 on my PS3. I had completed it once and decided to start afresh, I wiped the data and as I was re-installed the game, it crashed. This then made my console useless, which I am guessing was because the Hard Drive had been damaged. Like with my copy of MGS4 you probably just had an unlucky copy, perhaps due to scratches or whatever.
Sony were happy to replace my 60gb console with a repaired version that was pretty much put back to perfect condition.
Im not firey, im simply explaining why the idea of a virus being on a game disc is absolutely ludicrous and im annoyed by people typing incoherently in caps, it makes me question how old Walshy is.

True, but at the same time most people consider all caps as the equivelent of shouting. Also its common decency to try and post with the correct spelling and grammar so that people can understand what they are talking about.
On topic, my advise would be to go to the store and try get the copy of DMC4 back so that:
a] Sony can check the disc to find out if it is the disc or the machine causing the problem,
b] No one else will have to suffer because of that disc if it is really the disc.

Walshy all i say is ....
its your fault for buying a PS3 and the console now hates you because although you picked an excellent game choice, you decided to play the posible incredible game in the world on possibly the worst games console out so far thus your problem.
yeah i kinda haye the PS3 if you havent already guessed.
