View Full Version : Do you think RE5 will be as good as RE4 was ?

I mean, when Resident Evil 4 came out, it was totally original with the new camera angle and i had an awsome feeling of satisfaction when i was blowing enemy heads. And the replay value was great too, i probably have finished the game over 20 times since the release. And because of that, will RE5 will be as exciting as RE4 was ? Point is, its like when you ride the rollercoaster for the first time when you go to a tivoli. The first ride gives you a hell of a kick and is even scary but when you ride it again, the feeling you get is not even close the feeling you got from the first ride, sure the adrenalin is there but not the fear. You get ?

Will the long years of waiting, HDTV support and new stuff in the game really give the same vibe that RE4 gave ?

To all you naysayers and RE4 haters, dont even bother!

Reading up on previews in games magazines, it is apparently better.

Takeuchi and other members of the team stated that from the very begining they wanted to make sure it was different from RE4. They kept that in their minds all the way through, and it has apparently worked.

Yes, the game shares similarities...the camera angle, the action, the standard enemy type...but apparently the game has a completely different feel to it.

The controls, for one, are much different...the AI character is no longer a hopeless blonde, but a strong and independant woman.

The game still relies heavily on everything that every other RE game has set up, but it also brings a lot of new things in with it.

I hope this answers your question.

Yeah, some, maybe. I know that it will be a better game for sure but...
Its like the GoW fans (im not one of them). I have spoken to some hardcore GoW fans and they also believe GoW2 will be a better game but they dont expect the same excitement they got from the original.

I ask my self, will i really play through RE5 20 times as i did with RE4? Do you understand me ?

It wont be as new as RE4 was...so you wont get the same excitement...that is a given. To expect the same would just be ridiculous.

The game is going to be better in detail, enemy numbers, controls, etc.

But it is just the same as RE4...an action game that pits you against as many enemies as possible whilst you are given a large arsenal to deal with them.

You will get the adrenaline rush of being chased by 20 enemies at a time, along with the Chainsaw guy, or the Axe guy...

Whether you play it 20+ times will all depend on you though...not the game. If you just plain dont like it, even if it is a good game, then you wont...but if you do, you will.

the feeling that I had for several times playing througt resi 4 will be with me even better with resi 5 because I am still young, everything in a game is still heavy metal for me and I think my youngness for playing games will be disepeared when I am 30 I think because then you are more settled.

plus the fact and this is also a reason from my 11 years until I was 21 years old I never touched a videogame again and in that case you forgot the feeling you can have with revolutionary videogames because a decade not touch even a videogame even not at an arcade system on the kermis; you definitly forget what it feels like to play games. and second reason one of my first games I played after those decade was indeed resi 4 off course after a megaman game (because that was that game I always remembered and that was Megaman X8 after Megaman 3 in 1990) and how many times my girlfriend tolled at me; dont get a heart attack watch your breath! do something normal when playing resi 4 some sorts of that!

but resi 5 will definitly give the same feeling with me so my girlfriend is warned! :-)

I really hope so. I can remember being on work experience during the time that Resi 4 was released. I would come home exhausted and still want to go on resi 4. I would end up exhausted stressed and tense. Amazing :D

Resi 5 should be out when I have just finished off with my exams (if it is early in 2009). More stress :) . It should have a similar feeling, from an external point of view.

I think resident evil 5 will be better because of its on next gen with hdtv support hopefully 1080p and with ps3 the amount of power you can design in an game is outstanding so get it on ps3!

Regardless of looking at it from a technical side, where its pretty much identical to RE4 except in graphics and controls, the game looks to be much better.

Theres a whole lot more of RE packed into it. Im very pleased to see Takeuchi realised that RE4 was similar to SH4, in that it didnt really tie a lot into the series.

But yeah, after seeing the TGS trailers, Im really amped. REALLY AMPED!

Not a chance in hell. RE4 sucked on PS2 because of the stupid analog sticks are badly placed. Xbox 360 controller is near perfection (for this type of game that requires some heavy aiming).

They are not solely Playstation games. All the good Resis were released on Gamecube and Wii too.

RE 5 as horror survival? No.

RE 5 as a good game? Yes.

Is it just me, or has RE lost its horror factor? It seems like an action game now.

Is there a new video on XBL with Wesker in it ? I could not find it in the New arrivals nor in the Resident Evil 5 folder either. Where is it ?

There is only 3 RE5 videos available on XBL for me.

Did they Kill Jill ? That is messed up. She was my favorite character.

A gravestone doesnt mean she is dead for certain...

James Mitchell
15-10-08, 13:23
I think Jill will be in the game in some form. I dont believe shes dead. According to her previous biographies, the dates on the gravestone are incorrect. I wouldnt be surprised if she went on some BSAA mission before Chris, was captured by Wesker and brainwashed - whlie the BSAA pronounced her dead after she didnt come back. Then we have Jill as birdwoman, brainwashed somehow to operate for Wesker.

Well see how it goes though.

I AM interested though in Excella Gione. I hope they turn her into a recurring villain. Capcom have a lot of potential with TriCell becoming the new Umbrella, and Excella becoming the new Wesker in some regard. Chris has to get Wesker this time around. Its time for change, I think, and I would welcome Excella as a recurinring viallin. I am extremely appealed by her personality that Ive seen so far.
