The appearances of Cody and Guy in Street Fighter isn't going to be the only Final Fight news we're receiving this week.
Capcom has announced FF (Final fight, not Final Fantasy you geeks. :)): Double Impact for the XBL Arcade and Playstation Network.
Also coming is the classic dungeon brawler/crawler Magic Sword (which I had never heard of before finding this news)
Final Fight Double Impact will feature optional graphical filters and a visual mode that makes the games appear as if they're being played on an arcade machine. Most importantly, both games will have drop-in online co-op.
I haven't found a price or release date yet, so if you have any info, feel free to post it here.
Also, discuss!
a day one buy for you? A reason why you won't buy it?

I think Capcom should release a Classics collection for the PS3 and X360 like they did for the PSP and PS2. Releasing one or two titles now and then might not be very appealing for gamers.
Anyway, I've finished FF too many times, but it's still a game I love to play, so I will probably get it, but not at launch.

When will a remade Final Fight come? Or Final Fight (beat'um up) in Street Fighter?
Im chuffed that final fight is finally (no pun intended) coming to 360 and psn and will absolutely be a day one purchase for me. I just really hope its a faithfull arcade port, guys obviously there so things are looking good, i cant imagine capcom omitting level 4 and rolento, theres no reason too, im sure they have plenty of megabytes spare. i do hope roxy and poison will be there though, heaving ladyboy bosom and all?
I bet the whole Poison thing will pop up every time. xD
I totally forgot about her/him/it. Now I'll definitely get it day one!

I'm a bit confused that they're just throwing in Magic Sword with this one. For one, I've no idea what Magic Sword is, and for another, it's weird packing it in with Final Fight.
Still, nice to see Final Fight still getting some love in SSFIV and this, after the disappointing STREETWISE. >_>
magic sword was a fairly decent dungeon crawler that, i think, only got released in japan. it was fairly un remarkable though. glad final fight is back as the latest version i own (apart from capcom's one dud game, final fight streetwise) is final fight one on the game boy advance. it's been ages since iv'e played it so i'll probably download it (actually the only other game i've had of xbla is SF II HD, iv'e had loads off wii ware though)
wow that was a bit of a ramble! sorry.
I don't think Magic Sword was only released in Japan.
Did a quick search, and the game had appeared on Snes in the USA and Europe, in 1993.
Also, the game was included in the recent Capcom Classics collection on psp.
Though, you'd have to wonder if someone would buy it again if they already have it on one console..
Either ways, the concept of the game is sooooooooo retro that I HAVE to play it.
Hopefully, with an online-cop for the allies as well.
Update doublepost:
Capcom (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/) has announced (http://capcom.gamespress.com/release.asp?i=170) that the Final Fight / Magic Sword combo pack known as Final Fight: Double Impact (http://joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact) will hit Xbox Live Arcade (http://joystiq.com/tag/xbla) and the PlayStation Network (http://joystiq.com/tag/psn) in April 2010. In addition to the previously announced graphical filters, viewing modes and drop-in / drop-out co-op, Capcom has also revealed that both games will feature a selectable soundtrack from the people responsible for the excellent Bionic Commando: Rearmed (http://joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed) soundtrack (https://www.sumthingdigital.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumid=3664). Furthermore, the games will utilize GGPO (http://ggpo.net/), a networking library used to essentially eliminate lag during online play.

I DIG the fact that there's going to be a soundtrack by those guys!
Also, after checking some magic sword screenshots, I really want to play it more then Final Fight. The character designs look great!
