View Full Version : Community Xmas party!
Getting closer and closer...:hop:
I've sent the invites to the email addresses you used to register to your Capcom Europe account, please let me know if you haven't received it for some reason.

I have received mine! :)
Quick question though, I am planning/thinking about driving, what is the availability of parking in the area? And is there a post code you can give me for my sat nav?
Leave your car at home and get a train, Sky_Dragon ;)
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with car parking in the area but I'll look it up. The post code is in the invite, in the venue address :)
I received my invitation,
and glad it mentions the other station, since I'm travelling with the Northern Line.
This topic is a great way to find out who I still need to buy presents for. ;D
Excellent. I don't currently have a PDF viewer, so I'll have to wait till I'm in work. I also don't have much ID, but if it's just for the venue purposes I'll be fine.
Cheers for the invite.
It made me laugh, actually. The club[EDIT!] is literally 1 minute from where Headstrong have their temporary studio [we're relocating a few minutes down the road after Christmas]; where I work right now. We tend to go there once a week or so, sometimes alongside with people from Rocksteady and Zoe Mode.
It's a nice place, though, so good call.

Can't wait.
ID?? I'll bring my pension book with me.
*creak, groan*

Im going to have to drive, it will cost me £40 otherwise just to get to London. I don't drink anyway, so it doesn't pose that much of a issue anyway.

That's pretty awesome. Those guys at Rocksteady did a fantastic job with Batman: Arkham Asylum. :D
Anyways, thanks a lot for the invite! It's all in my inbox fine, and for once didn't mark something important up as spam, haha.
Didn't realise that Soop, Jarlino and Clay were going too, so see you guys there. ;)
Hopefully you'll have a good flight across Jar!
So close. :D
Ticket received, printed and tucked away. I even did a little dance round the office when I got the message ^_^ It is going to be an epic weekend in London.

25-11-09, 15:17
Ah!ah! I was in the club[EDIT!] last week to see and report for my site on the new Just Cause 2 game. I still have one of the drink cards too as I don't drink alcohol... :p
Some of the RockSteady guys came to see the game on that night actualy.
Please, guys, don't reveal details of the venue - remember that this is a public forum, we don't want gate crashers :shameonyou:
Whoops. Sorry, I edited it now. :)
charmed699
25-11-09, 15:31
Oops, my bad and I would have done the editing but someone already did it for me. :)
We don't want Rocksteady to gate crash the party! :p
The name is fine, there's more than one called like that, but when we give details of location it becomes a bit obvious... ;)
charmed699
25-11-09, 15:38
Trying to make me feel even more guilty?Didn't think of that before just saying where it was to help anyone going....I blame not having enough hours of sleep since sunday(but totally worth it)! :p
"The sound of charmed's name being crossed off the guest list"
Don't be silly :)
How could I punish you if I didn't let you come to the party? :D
Carbonox_Ratchet
25-11-09, 17:13
Nice; looking forward to it. ;]
oooh this looks nice, k so i know theres no dress code but whos coming smartly dressed? am i going to be the only one in a suit??
Also i see the super secret location has a projector screen, SF4 please!!!!
Carbonox_Ratchet
25-11-09, 17:26
I'll be dressing somewhat smart, JDK. No trousers/suit or anything, but smart jeans, shoes, etc. I don't feel right wearing anything less in places like these.
yeah me too, maybe ill just wear a shirt and jeans instead of coming suited and booted, i dunno, ten any way you can give us the proportions of how many are coming, eg how many campcom euroer's how many dtoidies etc??
charmed699
25-11-09, 17:40
I will have to go under emergency plastic surgery so that I can avoid punishment! I can imagine a huge security person telling to turn around and go home. :D
I don't know what to dress and only get 1st job payment on the 16th, so might not be able to buy something new now!I wish I had an extra closet/drawer to fit more clothes, as some of you know, space is getting limited. :p
lol @ me there will be at least one campcom euroer there; Me! cos im faaabulous Darling!
I don't have the guest list with me but it's quite a lot of Capcom Europers, Jack :)
Ryu Kazama
25-11-09, 21:39
Someone is surely going to go dressed in blue and yellow, right? Anyone?
Go on, Ryu, you can do it! :horray:
charmed699
25-11-09, 22:05
I like and got lots of blue coloured clothes but not sure I have anything yellow that I could take besides a hoodie. :p
One thing before I forget - try to arrive on time if you can. You don't want to miss on things :hop:
Ryu Kazama
26-11-09, 00:08
I've got blue, and then some yellow but, they don't exactly go together so, guess someone else is gonna have to style that out!

26-11-09, 00:23
Oooo, one question by the way Ten:
"How much do we need to bring for food and drink etc?"
I looked on their website, and it looks like quite an upclass place. I'm kinda thinking that maybe I should dress up a bit with like I dunno, maybe a dinner jacket (is that silly?), a black shirt, either some blue or black jeans, and my white and black awesomely designed Vans print skate shoes (they're actually really nice for skate shoes).
Hope everyone is friendly :) Only met Diogo and Chiara before :)
On a side note I think I'll go smart/casual, some smartish jeans and a cute little blouse/shirt.
It's not an upclass place, Captain, don't worry. It's nice enough but not snotty at all :)
There'll be a buffet and a some drinks on Capcom; obviously the money behind the bar will finish at some point so if you want more I'm afraid you'll have to get your wallet out. Drinks are very reasonably priced, I'd never take you to a £10 a pint place ;)
Hope everyone is friendly :)
Very, Cat, don't worry :) Diogo and I will introduce you around ;)
I'm getting myself some fancy duds for this, maybe I'll bring the birthday kazoo too? :P
Loving the look of the venue, it seems down to earth with a touch of class to it, please tell me they have ale there :D, my favourite drink, but I won't go mad, I do have to navigate home, something I have trouble with even when I'm sober.
Looking forward to meeting you all. :)
I'm gonna go totally natural. I mean, just as I was born. Is that allowed?
CaptainCortez

Ah, you won't like me...........if people give me a funny look, I'll set them on fire with my mind. It teaches the mortals a lesson sometimes.
See you there Cat, but no funny looks! :p

Ah ok, I have nothing against upclass places anyway, but it looked like that, so I didn't know how much money to bring, haha. That's cool.
I might bring £30 with me or something. Buffet sounds cool, and I'm actually surprised you managed to arrange something like this for us, especially on a saturday (out of Capcom hours), haha. :p
There's one thing every buffet should have; Pineapple and cheese on a stick. :D
I'm gonna go totally natural. I mean, just as I was born. Is that allowed?
Yea, a naked Tubemole with an umbilical cord hanging off of his belly button wouldn't be indecent exposure at all! ;)
I'm actually surprised you managed to arrange something like this for us, especially on a saturday (out of Capcom hours), haha. :p
You under-estimate me :p

Only about a week and a half away, woo!
Iceclimber
26-11-09, 16:34
Yay! I have my invite!
*does the "it's time to party" dance*
So what to wear? Maybe, I'll come in my Yatterman costume, especially now the wig has showed up. Or maybe my Ice Climber. Then I can smash people over the head for spilling my drink. lol
Looking forward to this!
How late is "late"? I'm not sure when the last time I can get home is. I'd have to get it from Waterloo as well. I can get the District Line but it takes ages.
Iceclimber, I think it was stated in the other thread that it depends on how long you want it to last. ;)
I heard from friends about taking the Night Bus if things end up really late. (Though that's more because of a party that lasts 'till 3 A.M where we're going on friday night)
Since that is near London Bridge, it'll work out, even if things go wrong.
At least, that's my vision on life. xD
One by one, my friends are abandoning me, partly out of jealousy, partly because I can't seem to shut up about how excited I'm feeling of seeing y'all! (again!) ^_^

also, are those shoes checkered, because I have those shoes too and I will be wearing mine...I dont want to look like a twin

26-11-09, 17:51
so whats actually happening? is there plans for the whole event? I was kinda hoping to get in a few monster hunter quests during the festivities! Anyone else fancy meeting near the event a bit before and go on a few missions?
I dont know if we will be arriving before but if we are ill be sure to let you know, either way, psps will be in attendance, monsters will be bashed ;)

No, they're not checkered. :p
Mine have Vans written in black print on the back......side of the shoes. They're white trainers with black lining.
£30 isn't enough if you want to help me suck the venue dry of alcohol. D:
Ah, that's a good point, but it's enough for me to get drunk (I have a bad habit of always mixing my drinks.....not that it would be a good idea or anything........I have to get back to Charing X station, to take a train ride home :p).
I dont know if we will be arriving before but if we are ill be sure to let you know, either way, psps will be in attendance, monsters will be bashed ;)
Mine will be with me. I'm still only monster hunter rank 1, as none of my friends really have Unite, but hey, I'm not bad. :p

26-11-09, 20:19
i cant really stay too late or get very drunk, last time i got drunk i got on the train home and woke up 3 hours later in a bus station. my girlfriend had to get a cab and come find me. shes the reason i cant stay all night, i like seeing her when i can
Carbonox_Ratchet
26-11-09, 20:25
Try falling asleep on a train and ending up 50 miles away from your home, catching the return train, falling asleep/passing out on that and ending up 70 miles away from your home the opposite side of the country with no cash to your name. Pahahaha. Yeah that's a story for another day... <.<
chaosriotzero
26-11-09, 20:36
oh snap, ive never done that before. how'd you get home? worst ive done is woken up on the other side of london. oh and falling asleep driving home from a party cos my friend decided at 3am he needed to get home....i only woke up after i drove through a speed camera and set it off
giggles at carbonox what line was it??
Carbonox_Ratchet
26-11-09, 20:47
I just remember getting home at 7am the next day via train. Good job they don't have ticket folk on the trains early in the morning, or barriers. D:
so whats actually happening? is there plans for the whole event?
I'm not telling you! :hop:
It'll be fun, lots of fun ;)

That wasn't too fun. :p
Whenever I get drunk, it doesn't matter where I am/was......I'll always somehow end up in my bed, lol.
No idea how I got there at times, but I always end up there. I usually walk through two towns to get home, after a really long night out in the clubs or something. It's about 2 and a half hours to walk it, but saves me £20 on a taxi for only 8 - 10 miles away (probably closer to 10, but the way they drive, it can be done in about 15 minutes or less).
Sky_Dragon
26-11-09, 21:34
Can we get a delayed BanHammer for our activities at this event? Or just severally frowned upon. Not that I am planning on getting overly wild, but you just never know lol.
CaptainCortez
26-11-09, 21:52
Just don't do anything silly, and you'll have no reason to worry about that, Sky_Dragon. ;)

CaptainCortez
26-11-09, 22:14
Awww, no. She's so full of fail.
Calvin Harris, Prodigy, Pendulum, Mstrkrft, MGMT, Empire of the Sun, Muse, Daft Punk, and Justice is better. :p
I think my body is infused with Electro music, and has just enough space to fit classic rock songs in. ;)

anyone that wants to, me and cortez will probably meat up at around 12ish in a local starbucks and steal thier power points and get some missions done. sorry if this sounds like me repeating myself but it would be cool to get to know some of you before hand over a friend co-op mission or two and a hot cup of breakfast tea
CaptainCortez
27-11-09, 01:38
Meat up, Chris? MEAT!!!!! XD
Nah, I'm wanting to Vege up with people. Gather some special mushrooms, and forget the Gendrome hides!
I'm all set money wise for the day. Checked it out, and it's all amazingly good good. :D
Yea, if anyone else wants to meet up with us, then you're all welcome. Everyone's pretty friendly in the Capcom community (most of you will know this), so the more, the merrier. ;)
Ryu - If any form of Street Fighter is there, that's me done for! I'm a retro fighter, so D-Pad all the way. :D

I looked at mine, but haven't printed it off yet. It's in colour.....poor printer. :(
It shall be done very soon, else I'll forget it, and will have to take on a bouncer or two, in order to get in.
Hmm, it can be done. I have two God Hands! :p
The countdown's started :hop:
Get ready to party :D
Iceclimber
30-11-09, 16:28
I'm always ready.
And work days seems to last twice as long now.
Ice, are you really going to show up in cosplay?
'Cause I was looking at what to wear, and realized I have an orange dinner jacket as part of a Larry Butz (Phoenix Wright) cosplay, and figured it's not as nice as the normal clothes I was gonna be wearing, but wouldn't want you to feel left out of the group. ;)
Im wearing my black and red suit, so I'll look like an evil Apollo Justice.

Awww, I would have wanted to do that if I had money, and knew where to get designs put on a tee. Sadly, I don't.
However, there is a Captain Awesome t-shirt, so I'd still be the Captain. I can't afford it at the moment though. O_o

If I was allowed to go I would of enjoyed myself.:(
But NO! It's because of other parents telling my mum that their children are chatting to old men and getting lead on.........so as a result I'm not allowed to go........
They better not allow me to go to xmas party in college:mad:
I'm expecting a full report with a lot of pictures, and possible videos. I want a pic of T. with the sledgehammer, a video of CR dancing in the centre of the room, Leo playing MH on the PSP in the middle of the dance floor, and CaptainCortez dressed as Santa Claus delivering presents to everybody. Also Diogo will be the Portuguese representative, so hope that you take some "filhoses" to everybody :giggle:

Portable mercenary tools are welcome, by all means. It's encouraged, and will ultimately win you the most prizes, if there's no more competition around. :p

Yea, which brings me to something about the invites:
They're not numbered or named, so some people might turn up with friends. If that happens, the mighty boot of Ten will get to their behind pretty fast, I'm sure. :p

i was planning on monster hunter gathering hall tee (not drawn on) or a plain tee that i can scribble all over and others can write on me if they feel like it, jeans and my checkered vans. also some kind of hoodie and my grey and black stripey scarf to keep me warm in this current bitter climate.
I'll also be armed with a watchmen bag and a PSP with freedom unite firmly tucked into its UMD slot

You know you can't bring friends and I trust you. Plus there is a guest link at the door with your names, no point in trying unless you want to fail :p
Probably not. It looks like it's going to be a bit too cold for it.
Too cold for an Ice Climber costume! The irony!
I could make some mince pies - would people like that?
There might be mince pies anyway, but I only like home-baked ones. I've been making loads!

It'd be so awesome if you paid the guy to ask for your capcom password, and when you gave it to him, he says "Welcomed in as (Username), You have no new friend requests and no new messages."....
It may be a problem if he asks for ID, since my surname on my passport is different (for reasons I prefer not to disclose) and it's my only form of legally valid ID.

I meant my Yatterman although my Ice Climber needs part of it to be repaired (and that's been put off for quite a while). So it'll won't be either.

Don't worry, the ID is only for proof of age.
I share your pain, easy one for me though - I'm an Italian citizen and by the Italian law I can't take my husband's surname but being a UK resident I can do it by the UK law. So I'm half Woolford, half something else  One day I'll get truly fed up and apply for UK citizenship.

Ah, I see, currently in awkward, awkward circumstances right now, didn't want to travel hundreds of miles (more or less) only to be turned down at the door, this is the only enjoyment I'll be getting for the next two or so months.

No, no pressure at all, I don't see how hanging around with other forum members, most of which I have not met properly, could possibly be boring, and of course, alcohol. :D

You don't drink tea at a party! You mix drinks, and have Jaeger Bombs! :p
Blue WKD and Smirnoff mixes awesomely together. It tastes nice, and goes icey blue.
I made something which went vibrant red before, but that was mixing an insane amount of alcohol, along with strawberry jam, sugar puff's, irish cremé, vodka, I think some smirnoff, vodka red jelly, banana's and grape's.
Hmm, it had some cherry wine, and I think some cider with it too, if I remember correctly. Try it people!
I saw a blender at a friend's, so just threw it all together, and i think we named it the drink of death, as it got everyone completely wasted after about 2 cups of it, lol. Tasted really nice though!
as for you stealing 'my men' your welcome to them :D
That's what I thought, lol.
Though I welcome all italian's.....Ten's a very nice person, and Gino from "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here", is immensely hilarious. :D
Fun people!

I can drink (and make English style) tea, but even after 14 years I still prefer me coffee :p
as for you stealing 'my men' your welcome to them :D
I was expecting that, it still made my chuckle :giggle:
Oh my, oh my.
Did ANY of you check out the Alcohol chart on the venue's website?
I know I'll be limiting myself to Belgian Stella or maybe a pint of Vedett.
Do you see how far my roots go? My tentacles won't be the only Belgian thing invading your party! <3

Lol, it's mega pricey!
£4 for almost everything each, and Cobra Beer is like £3.40- Outrage! Lol.
Central London is no excuse for it! Haha.
I shall be drinking from their Beer/Cider list:
Cobra
Bulmers Pear
Blue Moon (may try it)
Floris Ninkeberry (may try this as well, lol)
Hopefully they'll do Jaeger Bombs though. If not, I may have to cry!
Cocktails, can't say I've had any proper ones, so no idea what a Mojito tastes like, or much else.
chaosriotzero
01-12-09, 18:46
im probably only gonna have a few ciders anyways. Ive turned into a proper light weight as I hardly go out drinking anymore
Lol, it's mega pricey!
You're kidding! That's greater London prices, if you want any cheaper it would have to be Weatherspoon
What I'll probably be drinking:
Black Sheep Premium ale
Coopers Sparkling cloudy sparkling ale
Goose Island IPA Pale Ale
Will probably try two of them before I get too drunken to navigate home.

My cardigan is smart! D:
My black shoes, jeans, black polo shirt and grey cardigan combine to form awesome jawsome pudding and pie. I'ma go all trendy like. No shirts, ties, blazers or anything of the sort.
I can't be bothered to look at the drink menu (rather it be a surprise) but no drink will be safe from my wrath.

Really? It was cheaper in The Portobello Star that I went to, in.....Portobello lol. Maybe that's cheap for London, and then it just goes straight up. Haha.
How much drinky is already paid for? :p
Lol, maybe it's a shock as it's pretty much £1 more than anything down here, but then our pay is lower, too.

awwwwww, Come on guys, it was a joke about Alice and tea parties! :p
I don't really like the smell of alcohol and perhaps even less when it comes to its taste. I probably had my share for the year when I tried two sake(something similar I can't remember) shots last month, with some friends, after Assassin's Creed Lineage premiere. :p
I suppose at least I have IceClimber for support! :D
I will be sneaking by in the shadows....
Not a fan of beer or wine as they taste quite disgusting according to my taste buds, so I won't be drinking any of that. However I will drink amaretto (as the almond taste is nice) so hopefully they'll have some. If not I may have a go with their cocktails :)
Also the invite says late, Ten do you have any idea on when it may finish or we'll be kicked out, I'm arranging so I can be picked up from my local train station when I get home :)

I can stay til about 8pm, but that's because it's a 2 hour train journey back for me.
I got back from london once, and the train stopped running when I was two towns away from my house! Was gonna walk it, but rang my dad up, as otherwise it would take me another 2 hours to walk that.
I would have liked to have stayed all night, but ah well. I can live with 6 hours of partying. :p
Quick question, is there somewhere like a coat/bag deposit bit at the venue where I could leave my bag? I'm going to be staying in London a couple of nights but I will moving to a different place on the Saturday night meaning I shall need to take my luggage there.

The place is open until pretty late but as I knew quite a few of you would have to leave relatively early, I've booked the whole venue until 8pm and after then we'll have a reserved area. The core of the party is from 2pm to 8pm, it'll be more chilling after that. Make sure you get there on time!

There isn't a cloak room as such, RedBird, but the place is all for ourselves until 8pm, you shouldn't worry ;)
So, excited? I am! I've almost finished with the preparation, should be all ready by end of today :D
Thanks Tenebra, now I can start packing properly ^_^
I can't wait for this weekend now, it is going to be amazing!
Everyone is dressing up smart...
I'll try to remember to shave.
I actually had a dream about the party last night! I think I'll check the drinks list now, the mention of Goose Island got me hopeful for rootbeer.
Ah, it was Goose Green. Looks like I'll be on Magners or westons (probably not westons as it's pretty strong)

But yeah, "some drinks" is down to the allotted drinks provided by Capcom. Can't have them buy the entire place out and provide us with unlimited booze. No one will go home then!
This is why you should really bring some extra dosh with you for after the party. That way we can carry on.
The first thing I did was google street view the place. There seems to be a place right opposite. Other than that I don't know London.
Or we could stay in the same place. If I want to meet up with my friend, I take it she could come in after 8pm?

I actually have one, and my dad said to save me money, I could have some of his 60% rum in his old hip flask, but if the bouncer's search me before I go in, I'm stuffed really.
Not too sure what to do about that.
That's for drinks, it's good of Ten to arrange for any food and drinks to be pre-paid for, so it's only fair to spend your own money as well, guys. ;)

It usually takes me an hour, and I have to look my best before I leave to go out anywhere, otherwise I'll get slightly aggrevated and stay in until I'm satisfied playing with my hair, and deciding what I'm going to wear.
Most of my friends who care about their image do the same, but I have a few friends who just go out looking like they've just woken up. :/

Then there's Ten to entertain you all!
Ah, there are a few girls, but I don't know who's coming from Destructoid, as to be honest, I don't know what Destructoid has to do with Capcom at all lol. I'm all for meeting random people, and making new friends, but I have no idea how Destructoid is associated with Capcom, haha.

May I ask how many people have been invited to the party? If you're allowed to say :)
Mainly want to find out as I don't like huge crowds of people, and don't want to be surprised when I get there by masses ^__^

Anyway, you should be satisfied! My heart and soul went into that post.......lol.

Go for it, then 4 player should be sorted. :p
I'm travelling via national rail, then through the tubes like usual. Takes about an hour and 45 minutes to get to london from where I live, then usually an extra 20 - 30 minutes on tube, to wherever I need to go.
Ten mean 10 capcom staff cortez, by my count there are 18 of us capcom euro forum users coming.
I wants in on freedom uniteings what time are you guys meeting at charing cross??

I guess I'll tag along seeing as JDK is MEETING ME AT KING'S CROSS (you didn't reply to my PM, foooooo). No snide comments though while I sit at the back without a PSP or Monster Hunter. :P
right well im watching some of the K1 that morning but i might just pop by and see you guys, maybe ill bring mike and jamie (two other hr9's) along with me.
Still even if i dont meet u guys till later i now jarlino wants some help ranking up so we will at least be able to get some quests in at the actual party if your up for it, proper partying doesnts start till it gets dark anyway :)
Edit @ Carbo what time do you want to meet at kings cross, dont worry about me kickbocing i can watch it anytime? One thing, check in at the hostel isnt until after 2:00 so we would have to go back and have a look mid party if you would like to see it before commiting yourself to staying there? ima just chance it and stay even if its grotty cos i wants to paaartay!! if you want to do the same thats cool or if you want to go check it out in the afternoon or evening thats cool, we can do either :)

Til it get's dark.....which thankfully for us, that's early....at like 4pm. :p
There will probably be competitions of some kind going on anyway, so it shall be good. We might not even get time to play Monster Hunter there, but I'll have my psp on me.
That's for other Monster Hunter rank 9's.....I'm still on Rank 1, but once I beat a blangonga, I'll be on Rank 2, as I've got nobody to play with, so am doing all of the hard missions myself, having to rank up alone lol.

Uh around 1pm maybe, Jack? I want to leave here at 12 anyway.
Yeah I'll just risk it and stay. I'm definitely not going to come home until Sunday morning.

Yea, alright, I'll let Soop know.
He said he's coming down from Bristol, so I'll meet you at what, does 11am instead sound good? Or is 11.30 better?
I'll be down on time whatever time we arrange. I'm looking forward to a big day out. :D
chaosriotzero
03-12-09, 20:00

CaptainCortez
03-12-09, 20:10
Haha, well hopefully you'll be on time.
It might just be a case of meet up find out where Soop is, we all meet up, then monster hunt and then head up to the party.
If it's raining, I won't look very smart, but if the weather is good, I will make an effort. I stilld unno if a dinner jacket is a ridiculous idea. :(

seeing as me and alex are getting in at 1 i think its best we go straight to the venue to avoid being late, if you guys get there a bit early perhaps we could hunt something whilst waiting outside??

Oops, my bad.
we'll be meeting up at 12, man. ;)
My train from Manchester gets in at 12pm, after i dump my bags at the hotel I should be able to turn up for a hunt or two around 12:30 - 1 ish.
Depending if I can get up early and done with the whole shaving and being a manly man thing, I'll text JDK or Charmed to see where they are.
The place I'm staying is literally a three minute walk from King's cross anyways.
I'm just not a morning person. xD
cool seeing as your close to kings cross and thats where im getting in text me, maybe me and alex can come meet you at 1 ish then move onto the venue?
chaosriotzero
03-12-09, 21:00

I concur with Chaos. :p
Draconacticus - I'll pm you my number then. ;)
Jack - Bells! Are you dressing up like a christmas milk cow? :p

Edited my last post, by the way. ;)
Listed members who will be receiving cards from me.
Im bringing a card for everyone on the list ten gave me of CE members who are supposed to be coming so if you dont get one you know who to blame cos I've already noticed one person who's supposed to be going who she missed off the list so its possible there might be others ;)
I never got a reply as to specifically who is coming from CE staff so Mao and Chiara are getting one each, the others, whoever they may be will have to settle for verbal festive wishes :P
CaptainCortez
03-12-09, 22:59
Mao's tubemole, isn't he? I've pm'd you anyway. ;)
yep maos the tubemole as i didnt mention that in my reply

Ill use real names for those i know, forum names for those i dont

Ten, does the size that we have printed out the invite matter? Just that my limited printer skills have left me with an A4 sized invite :$
chaosriotzero
04-12-09, 16:50
one more sleep!
and I better go print my invite off now...
Really? My pm system clearly isn't working, I did send you a reply :(
That message was on twitters ten though i havent received a pm either here or there saying what staff are coming, if you want to message me tonight that would be helpfull though if not ill bring a few spares ;)
I'll be down just after the weekend shopping! :hop:
chaosriotzero
04-12-09, 18:54
ggreeeeeat, my printer has decided to run out of ink while trying to print the invite. I dont have access to another one as nobody I know seem to own a printer and I cant get onto my hotmail at work...typical.
I've saved the invite as a photo on my iPod, will that work? Do you have a list of who's coming and can I get in without having an actual paper invite?
If you beg me, Chaos, I might let you in :D
chaosriotzero
04-12-09, 19:19
*drops to his knees and pleeds!*
wait...does this involve any money?
Nah, begging in itself is enough :p
chaosriotzero
04-12-09, 19:41
thanks Ten, I swear my printer is sooo rubbish, it would probably be quicker to just draw the invite myself...
see you at 2 tomorrow!
CaptainCortez
04-12-09, 19:44
I could have just printed one off for you, as you're on the list anyway. :p
draw the invite myself...
Now I challenge you to do that :D
I'm not going to be at the door, ask for me if I'm not around and having problems to get in ;)

Dunno where that quote came from, but it might be a song. Either way, it was dragged out of my head.
Hehe, I hope you love it. Going out for dinner, then wrapping after. ;)
I'm starting to feel really bad that I haven't bought cards or presents or anything :(
Cat, please don't. They are crazy people, don't listen to them. There is absolutely no need whatsoever to to bring cards or presents. This is a little party that us at Capcom have put together for you, that's all it is. All we want is that you have fun.
charmed699
04-12-09, 21:43
Dont worry about it as you do whatever you feel like doing. :D
Yeah dont worry cat, i've made cards because i've met most of the forum members who are going before and i thought it would be nice to have a card to give to everyone seeing as it is a "christmas" party, i havent got anything for the dtoid lot though :D
Ok :) as long as I don't upset anyone by not giving them anything, however if anyone wants a job in games and wants to tell me about themself at the party, and what they wanna do I can always recommend people for jobs when they appear :)
Not much of a pressie but I don't mind helping people when it comes to getting jobs, as I had a lot of help before I got my job :)
Nobody will get upset, Cat. Just bring yourself, it'll be really nice to see you again, it's been a while since we last met :)

Don't worry Cat. If you have none to give, people have no right to be angry at you.
It's a party, we're just there to get on and have fun. See you tomorrow. ;)
I know what I'm wearing now, too. S'all good. :D

This.
Nice idea Bunny.... Muha muha muha...:taunt1:
Headed back from the party now, don't worry guys, you didn't miss out on much, it was terrible...
....ONLY KIDDING! IT WAS AWESOME! :D
We all got neat swag bags, with some rare t-shirts, some figurines of Bionic Commando and Dark Void, and a face mask of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
We also had the pleasure of a video from some of the key producers of the industry, had a Tatsunoko Vs Capcom tournament (Which I lost to Charmed, damn you!), there was a raffle where we scored rare merchandise (I recieved a TriCell wallet signed by one of the producers of RE5 :D).
And the best thing, was the food and free drinks of course...
Nah, The food was pretty awesome, but meeting some of the faces behind the usernames was pretty sweet, got to meet a fair few friendly regulars, apologies if I missed you and didn't give you your card (Im taking a lot home unfortunately), but for all those I did meet, thanks for a great time, too numerous to mention, but you know who you are. ;)
Unfortunately I had to leave early, living in the middle of no where kinda sucks in this respect, but at least I can report in early, very sorry to all of you, especially Tenebra and the capcom staff who organised it, but I did have fun, left with a smile on my face and look forward to doing this again very, very soon.

At least you made it!
Firstly an apology to Ten, and everyone who when I am very sorry that I did not make it.
Secondly an apology to everyone who wasn't invited for wasting a space.
I left my house at 11.30am to drive what should have been an 1.30 drive to the venue. But oh no. Upon hitting the A4? M4? I got stuck in a 6mile jam that took me an hour to get through. Fine I'm 30 minutes late. I then got screwed over by the climate change parade ( fighting to change the climate, but ironically caused large amounts of congestion and I would guess an increased amount of pollution.) which forced me to detour to Vauxhall Bridge. That mere mile extra took me a good 2 hours! And once over the bridge I sat outside what I think was MI:5 (so I will say it was) for a good 30 minutes. By this time I am a good 4hours late, still a couple of miles away and have no idea where I can park. So I was about to turn around and go when one of the roadblocks got took down, good times. Only that after turning this is not where my sat nav wants me to go and decides for some reason not to re-route me! So after 20 minutes of driving round I got pissed off and left. I have only just got home, 20.40. Yes I have spent the whole day driving. Yes I am angry. And yes if anyone mentions climate change to me they will get a punch in the face!
To sum up:
Climate change = bad, climate change protest = worse.
8 hours driving = horrible.
And on a side note.
1 - why the hell does LBC radio tell you the strictly come dancing scores?
2 - if on the news there is a story about a man peeing on the back of harrods, its me. True Story.
Just got home, was loads of fun :)

Well, that was a really good event!
Thanks so much everyone! Without the community and all of the rad and nice people being there, it wouldn't have been as good as it was, so well done Ten, and well done the community! :p
Will definitely be looking forward to meeting up with everyone again (hopefully sooner than later), and I'm glad everyone had a good time!
I did hardly any playing really. I was more socialising, as it seemed like an awesome opportunity to do so.
You're all very nice people, and thanks so much for the cards and from Capcom, the MASSES of prizes you gave us all.
It was a really amazing event, thankyou for the drinks and pudding as well! I missed out on the buffet somehow, and Destructoid's were naughty and stole things to put onto their table (I thought I saw chips go by!).
Will be good to see you all again soon, and hopefully I made you all feel welcome, as much as you did me. ;)
Glad you all got home safely, too!
Hey!
I was really happy to see all of you having a good time - it really paid off!
I'm sorry I couldn't speak to most of you because I was running around and calling names for Tatsunoko tournament! I blame Ten. She's always evil.
See you all soon.

Sorry Tube, forgot to mention you, but really congrats to all of you Capcom staffie's. :p
Also thanks very much for everything.
I've put all of my presents in my lounge, so when my mum, dad and brother get back from their Alice Cooper concert, they can see I won't be needing presents for a while. :p
You might suffer the sight of me on tuesday, as I'm back, but with Steph and James. :p
As I said on Twitter I'm a bit overwhelmed, you guys and gals have been too nice to me. I'll have lots to say tomorrow.

Thank you, guys. I thought I'd surprise you, you did better than me.
Shame I couldnt make it, but sounded like it was a real good time. Sometimes I do wish I lived further south lol

*edit* really sorry you didn't make it Sky Dragon, I was late too. Next time, a train/bus/tube combo might be better than driving
