View Full Version : Games missing from handheld platforms
here is a question! if you could have a handheld version of any game which ones would you choose?
Mine would be:
1) Virtua fighter on the psp because i never get time to play VF anymore and there hasn't been a handheld version since the gamegear.
2)devil may cry because the mission structure is idealy suited to on the go gaming.
I think there's several, actually:
A 2.5D Metroid, not like Hunters, but a proper sidescroller like the older ones, updated for DS.
Devil May Cry, of course, I'd love to see it on PSP at some stage, the DS would have to be 2D or look terrible, it's better suited to PSP.
Resident Evil, on either PSP or DS, yes, I know portable is on the way, however, there's been very little love on these formats, only Deadly Silence and PSone versions translated to PSP. If they where able to make original games in the old style, on either console, it'd be incredible.
Frear Effect, I mean, seriously? nothing from this series? it was incredible.
Dino Crisis. Once again, it's possible to transfer a PSone version, but it'd would have still worked on PSP or DS as an original title/sequel.
Devil May Cry on PSP would be mutilated...

PSP has experience with this type of game(god of war - and is the best game on the platform)and i think if devil may cry would have been released, it could be a hit, a really big hit.
And i agree with dante, on DS it cant work, it wouldnt be devil may cry anymore.
Dmc would have to apear on psp. it just wouldn't work on ds. look at tomb raider legend and assasins creed. they were dull shodows of their superior cousins. god of war (which for all it's greatness is an unashamed clone of DMC) worked fantasticly well on PSP.

Oddly, I can't really think of much.
Resident Evil is coming to the PSP anyway, Silent Hill is already on the PSP, as is Resistance.
I guess it could be nice to see something like Mass Effect go on to ortable Hardware, but I don't think it'd go too well.
Same for the half Life series, as I'd be interested to see what Valve could do with the hardware...but I think alot of the game would just be lost in translation.
To be perfectly honest, every game that I think should be on the Handheld systems is already on them, or will be soon enough...
I'd like to see Noby Noby Boy, Threads of Fate, Mega Man Legends and Dino Crisis for the PSP.
